27:22 With the Flying Saucer Chase music, Gabriel is most certainly referring to the Worm Chase music, aka Blue Danube.
If I recall correctly, Rebecca Kneuhbul revealed in a Beyond Twinsanity Q&A made back then that when making that music track, TT asked Spiralmouth to make music for a flying level with a space/sci-fi theme; thus, they chose Blue Danube as that song is commonly used in media during scenes where characters are flying/floating in space. No intention of it being used in Totum Hokum was ever considered by Spiralmouth during the project (and is probably why Gabriel still thinks it was used for the UFO stage). However, the level obviously never made it past the cutting room floor and the music ended up being reused for the village segment in Totem Hokum.
I would link the Q&A but it seems like Beyond Twinsanity's website is undergoing a makeover and thus the article doesn't seem to be available. :(

Wumpos is such a Menace thing lmao. The fact you got Lex in on this is already what makes this all worthwhile to be a part of. One day, we could see the new vision that's inspired by this game (maybe the potential Crash 5 that never came to be).

Happy 20th to Twinsanity! Unfortunately, due to not having played much of the game myself, I was unable to submit an entry for the project, but here's what I _can_ say:
The first time I played it was through the Action Pack years later. What got me back into the Crash franchise was Titans, but I have a friend who did play this game when it came out and loved it. She often showed me the glitches and talked about how much she hated Ant Agony. When I played it for myself, I honestly couldn't get into it. I'm not sure why, but it didn't grab me. I enjoyed watching the cutscenes though, and this was actually my favorite version of Dingodile for a while. Also can't forget the iconic N. Gin quote: "OOOOH" 😂 Also it was pretty cool to see Spyro.

Honestly Crash Twinsanity is possibly one of my favorite Crash Bandicoot games ever, from the brilliant handling of the characters especially Cortex, the open world you were able to goof off in, the excellent writing and world building that actually understands who Crash Bandicoot is as a franchise and boy the music is nothing but legendary, it's my favorite Crash OST I find coming back to time and time again cause it's not only one of a kind but slaps.
Even with the cuts being made to it especially late in development the game is still a memorable experience worth playing at least once to say you did, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Crash Twinsanity's cut content to see the light of day including the lost version Evolution cause man it's a treat everytime we learn more of it's development.
Me like many would love to see a uncut version of Twinsanity or at least a more complete version of that game and it's story being done at some point either be greenlit by Activision Blizzard by the OG devs and fans or done independently as a fan game by the OG Devs and Fans, I would seek that out, it would make me happy to see.

This was a superb retrospective and it really took me back. I have a vague memory of what I believe was either 2005 or 2006, I had gotten Crash Twinsanity and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy from Blockbuster. I remember looking at the cases and being intrigued to play these games. I've played Twinsanity countless times and it's a glitch filled fun fest for certain. I've never gotten tired of the corny and campy humor and dialogue, it's all very 2000s in design and I will forever love it for that. Happy 20 years to making our childhoods Twinsane.

That’s a great retrospective video Marc. Here’s what I say about Crash TwinSanity. The game itself had some issues like touching Tikimon and losing a life after defeating it and there wasn’t any audio after Crash and Cortex crashed down into Dingodile’s house. The one character that has the most highlights is Dr. Neo Cortex. It was that Cortex was trying to get rid of Crash Bandicoot for good, but he has to work with Crash to stop the Evil Twins from taking over all of the Dimensions. Lex Lang did a great job at voicing Cortex. Cortex’s voice sounds more comical than the previous Crash games. He went from being a serious evil scientist to now a more goofy like character and Cortex still thinks that Crash is like his son.

I did play a bit of Twinsanity and i remember not liking it. It has much less finesse & polish than WOC, IAT, and the OG trio combined (and even then, i only love Crash 1), but i dig a lot of it's concepts and the music is epic.

Twinsanity despite you changing nearly everything I knew & love about this series(for the worse imo) for 20 years to be experimental and of course funny with humor, and how you stirred the series's direction into uncanny territories, divided the fanbase to the point where I can barely relate to them cause they love your direction, I at least appreciate some of your ideas involving the Crash & Cortex gameplay, and even your wild ideas from cut concepts which was a bit fun to watch after collecting a gem, tho at the same time disappointed me knowing how greatly unfinished you were. I'm not a fan of how you turned out and how you influenced later Crash games even to this day with your over the top humor, but you somehow manage a lot of unconditional love from this community despite all of your flaws, so I guess that's kinda cool. Still remember drawing Crash & Cortex from the front Box art and being hype to play that Lava Caves level after seeing screenshots of it in magazines. So yea Happy 20th Anniversary!

I still don't get why they keep heavily focusing on comedy when it never was the series' strongest point to begin with, since it's inception (Twinsanity and Nitro Kart were the exception, but that's it). And don't get me started on the painfully unfunny comedy that Crash 4 and the Radical entries have. They should cut that off.

    • @Teh69thSpartan
      @Teh69thSpartan 2 месяца назад

@@LincolnlynxJ at least that great warped value clone didn't completely botched the fundamental gameplay trademarks that it reused from the trilogy, and it has way more content, replayability, and finesse/polish than Twinsanity does.
Twinsanity feels more like a cheap knock-off of the series, and a very cheap one at that. And a very cheap knock-off of Jak & Daxter as well, when it comes to it's attempt at the open world-ish gameplay.

    Great documentary.
Only complaint is the idea of coco gameplay being around tech.
I’m sorry but coco needing technology to do basic platforming in levels is a dumb idea.
I get she’s smart but that’s more of a story element then a gameplay element.
She’s a skilled martial artist..her gameplay should focus on that.
Hacking gameplay and mini games are so lame and would break the pace of the gameplay.
