    I think Sam was my ski instructor 4 years ago when I took a trip out to Jackson. What a guy, very knowledgeable and friendly.

    The hardest part of Corbets is the drop and in this case the drop was eliminated with the sidelipped "road" carved out of the drop. The one and only time I looked over this drop in the 80's it was a vertical BIG serious drop. I skied around the easy way.

    Seen so many videos from this now I feel I just have to go. Seems to me that often its a bit hard snow in the landing and that gives riders some sick speed, if there on a good powder day I don´t think it will feel as sketchy.

  • @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists
    @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists 6 лет назад +19

    Sam is right. The worst part of this thing is that bobsled run everyone cuts. Ski the outside of it where the snow is better. Take a little more speed, but it leads to success!

    I‘m not afraid of steeps, but I'm afraid of rocks. I can tumble down steeps, but I can't hit the rocks. Tumbling down steeps can be thrilling, hitting the rocks might put me in a wheelchair.

      I don't think you're alone. It's probably somewhat safe to say that there's not a person on the planet that enjoys falling on rocks.

    Past the drop in doesn't look bad, I think if there was no road and you could just make your way to tje middle or left of the bowl thingy you could make a jump turn and just traverse your way back in. Instead of making a wider turn like that

    Here in Crested Butte we occasionally find mountain climbers to introduce an aspect called “protection” as in a short rope to get into runs at the top. Like how not to die?

      I think he looked good. I got some bad news for you. You will not be young and super fit without injuries for long especially if you ski difficult terrain. All of us older skiers are beat up and you will too. Its ok we are all still hitting the steeps still just not airing it out anymore. Its all good.
