    That was a great save Peter, well done. Hollowing endgrain... use a sharp scraper, or negative rake scraper, like the rest of us and you will get a pretty good finish with no grief... well, unless you get too enthusiastic. I learned that tip from a professional turner of 55 years experience and it works.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

      wtf is baconsoda?

    • @baconsoda
      @baconsoda 8 лет назад +29

      +Ratzmutz A 'bacon soda' is a meal made with fried Irish soda bread (bicarbonate of soda is the raising agent) and fried bacon, only bettered by the addition of a fried egg to make a 'bacon and egg soda'. Alternatively, you could have a 'sausage and egg soda' or, in extreme hunger, a 'bacon, sausage and egg soda'. A heart attack on a plate.
      Now you know.
      Best Wishes, Brendan.

    Nice save on the bottom there. I saw that and immediate thought was to have a stylish inlay in the bottom of the box. Kind of a surprise when people open it. But then you showed the cutoffs and I was like, right, those things. Very beautiful box, glad you went the box route.

      +Lamialle Gerald Everyone makes mistakes. Even the best woodworkers screw up a simple process now and then!

    Geez, I love the look of walnut. Great job, Peter! (Yes, I'm stalking through your video history and even re-watching several).

    I came from the other video, I'm so happy you made a box. The herringbone is so pretty and a cutting board would only get damaged over time.. The box would withstand the test of time much longer.
