Really cool project. If I can suggest: there are far better knots than overhand to use in applications where you're going to support someone's personal body weight -- especially since this is not a hitch but a stopper-knot scenario. I think the best knot to use would be the Ashley knot. Another good way to go would be the double figure-eight which is a bit less bulky. A single figure-eight knot is a great knot, and even less bulky than the others, but if it's bounced around it does have some risk of unbinding (often used in sailing where you don't want a line to get drawn through whatever it's been passed into, but you'll eventually want it untied).
His transitions are so good that some people don't even realize that it was a transition. They are so fixated on the work and it just passes right by their eyes.

Great video, I have lots of safety concerns though, I’ll start with: freehand cutting on the tablesaw...very dangerous. You’ll end up with a terrible kickback and might lose fingers in the process. My cousin had to have part of his intestine removed after a tablesaw kickback doing something similar.
there's a lot of different things it depends on as to whether or not free-handing is safe on the table-saw. the way he did it in the video wouldn't have kicked back the material in such a way that would have impaled him because he wasn't holding the sticks with the ends pointed directly at the saw blade, instead, it was the center of the sticks; not to mention, he had both hand's on the sticks at all times. Also, it depends upon the type of wood you're using and/or the power of the saw. Working in a mill, the saw would be much stronger and you should never really free-hand anything on them, especially since you could probably just use a band-saw instead since the scenario is in a mill. I've worked for a stair company, and in the shop there were holes in the wall behind the table saw, obviously from wood just shooting like bullets. But these standard table saws that basic carpenters carry around or have at home that plug into a 20amp circuit most-likely aren't going to kick a piece of wood back at a person so fast that it impales their tissue, unless of course it shoots something toward the eyeballs. Now, I don't work at the mill. I mostly do finish trim carpentry, and I freehand a lot on the table saw simply because I don't have a portable band saw. The blades on the regular 15amp table saw, like the one in the video, will stall due to lack of torque far sooner than overpowering you and kicking you or the material back.
@@ZeldaplusSmallville Complete nonsense. There is no advantage to freehanding (really, you can't at least fit a miter gauge alongside your jobsite saw?) - the cut is less straight AND less safe. funny thing is that only the center rope is holding ur weight
He could add 2 ropes then
Oh panzer of the lake , what is your wisdom?
False. The weight also goes to the square frame at the bottom causing a decrease in stress on the rope.
I would take the center one , and swap for 2 , left and right.
False, the full weight is hanged by the centre rope.
This is the kind of content I pay my internet bills for..!!
That's the chair you wanna use when you wanna remain focused!
Ideal for studying!
Also trains your mind to multi- task! (i.e. study, keep your posture and balance)
Good job!
@jemario playz lol
It's pine wood, and I don't even trust its strength to hold man's weight...My butt's health will depend only on those screwed joints, nah...I'll pass...
Not even the screws, its dependent only on the rope in the middle
@@indrayeduguri7710 its not, due to physics of tension the four external ropes ARE load bearing and thats whats cool about this chair
@@DaniPog I trust the concept, but distrust the construction. A few screws and big knots seems a tad unstable. Other similar projects I've seen looked way more durable. Also the external ropes are mostly stabilizers. The middle rope is doing the brunt of the work. I'd expect the middle rope's knot to be forced through that small hole before the side ropes.
@@cmck362 Right! The concept is OK, but not this wood construction. In this case there are rods inside the four corner ropes! Lol! Just lock at the type of ropes. You can pull out the center core and replace it whit steel rods. I suppose he did that as a plan B when plan A didn't work out!
Many years ago, I made a couple of tables for the architecture classes at the university and it really amazes the students.
4分半の末に、めちゃくちゃ派手に転んだら爆笑してた。
I'd put a helmet on my ass before sitting on that chair. The pointy wood making me anxious 😟
or a plate of metal
Bulletproof underpants
I’ve seen this a lot, and it still manages to amaze me
