Heavener is easily my album of the year, but I respect your opinion.
And I respect yours. We like what we like and neither of us is objectively wrong or right
Acting condescending and slating this album for doing things that you praised Sleep Token for doing is wild
Like what?
boring reaction zzz
😂😂😂
I totally respect what you had to say about this album, and some parts of it I even agree on, even with this being my AOTY. some parts of it are very repetitive and mediocre, but the places where it stands out, it STANDS OUT. I do really dig how they were pushing for more ambient/reverby metal (if that's even a thing lol). Songs like absence persistent and Purity Weeps really hit that well, while songs like Immolation of Night and False Meridian really scratch that heavy itch I have. either way good on you for pointing out the weak points of the album rather than just full praising the band. Still waiting for your thoughts on The Mortal Coil by Polaris!!
Oh yeah I see why people like it. And like I said, I didn't hate it, just not my thing. Heavener the song was in my top 25 songs of 2023 video though...
You loved Vildhjarta MUV you cannot TALK about wanting more variety I am sorry LMAO, MUV is one of the most one note albums I ever heard and bloated beyond belief, oh yeah and MUV sucks, bye
It's the most unique album I've ever heard
Petition for a currents reaction now that we got invent animate. IA is pretty amazing live. "Without a Whisper" live was something else. Same with immolation of night. Thanks for actual being critical and not blindly praising this band
I haven't heard the most recent currents album so maybe I'll throw that in my album poll
The chorus riff in The Sun Sleeps is the best piece of music this band has ever written, fight me
🥊🥊
Im telling you the more you listen to The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was the better it gets. IA is like that definitely growers.
Very off topic in terms of metal music, but just curious if you’ve heard of Slow Meadow? Not sure what genre I would call it(quick google just says “ambient music”)but I’d be curious to hear what you think of them.
I love this album but I understand that metalcore gonna metalcore so some of the songs are gonna be safer. I really do like the songs that try to be different tho
The band blotted science made the craziest “12 tone” metal album if you haven’t heard of them
Oh sweet I gotta check that out!
I would love to see drew react to bleed the future, easily one of my favorite metal albums, everyone in that band is so insanely good.
He heard one title track and gave it a 3/10 saying it was horrible
hahaha that definitely sounds like drew
@@PossiblyABird he can't appreciate true art lmao
I immediately thought of outliers when you played that note
Also don’t most band write in particular keys for their singer?
Maybe, but you can write in different keys and have melodies that are still within the singer's range
Pistachios in the chat 🥜
AHH NOT THE PEANUT EMOJI I'M DEATHLY ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS
Bro, since you like Vildhjarta and thall, can you give Indistinct's new album (Heart Prince) a listen? It's like a mixture between Vildhjarta and Leprous. I've been desperately trying to spread the word about these guys for awhile now
I have Reign of Silence on my Patreon poll because someone mentioned I should listen to that first before their new one
As of right now, it's in second place behind the new Tesseract album
@coreyclip1 sweet 👌. The new Tesseract album is great too. I hope you like both of them
dammit you got me with the clickbait lmaoooooooo
YES IT WORKED 😂😂
Hahaha I love your humor🤣 Dat intro. I love it
I had to for the memes 😂
Agree on most points here
I know you disagree with me heavily but you just want me to like Tema 🤣
@@coreyclip1 nah bro! I really do think it’s quite monotonous at a lot of points but the tracks you liked I agree we’re far better.. Tema is like a wildly different vibe to any of this 😂
@@dygnofficial from the little snippets I've heard, it sounds like I'm gonna love it. I can't wait!
Felt pretty similar about this. Really liked most of the choruses with 1 solid breakdown every other song, but so much of each song just kind of blended together throughout the album. Usually with songs I like I can remember each part throughout it, but with Heavener it was like I was just waiting for that one part and the rest was static.
Feel the same about the heavener single. That song is so much better than the rest of the album imo
I totally get the vibe of "hey there's this band a lot of people seem to like but they just don't do anything for me". Maybe it's my pretentiousness, maybe it's just adhd, but I have an almost viscerally negative reaction when I hear a band and get the feeling that I could easily mistake them for another. Which is why stuff like Vildhjarta is so cool to me because ain't no way you could ever listen to den spanska kanslan and think any other band wrote that song. To me the whole "low tuned djent riffs using the i-VII-VI-VII-i progression" thing has been so played out that the moment I hear it my brain just shuts off.
I get not everything has to be as unique as vildhjarta but I'm getting tired of the same old tropes in metalcore. I want more experimentation, more risks. Even if it doesn't pan out, at least it's different
@@coreyclip1 for me a perfect example of an album done right this year is the newest avenged sevenfold. A ton of their original fans absolutely hate it, and from a strictly chord theory standpoint it’s still a simple album. But man were they not scared to take risks and write stuff that pushed their sound beyond anywhere it had ever been. I had a constant shit-eating grin on my face listening to it because as someone who first heard them back in 2007 I could not have been more proud of them.
@@returntolifeband I still need to check that out
As a fellow Invent Animid memer, I also agree they arent bad, just the hype made me expect more. I dont really connect to the songs like others do which isn't their fault. But yeah not a bad album, just not great imo.
Also, fuck tappy riffs. Overused and annoying
💯💯
True story 😏🍷
