Tbf he’s right. As a United fan it worked out worse for us too. City played Wednesday v Madrid. We play sunday v Coventry but then only get two days rest before Wednesday night v Sheffield United. City don’t play now until Thursday. Surely our game with Coventry should’ve been today and city’s tomorrow? More days rest for both?

It's UEFA and FIFA that you need to get answers from. The FA Cup and League Cup have been here for a long time and shouldn't be changed just so you can play in Europe/CWC and do your pre-season tournaments.

To be fair he has spent enough money to have a big enough squad to deal with the fixtures.. if he doesn't want that many fixtures, then maybe losing earlier in the competitions might help.
