Simon might be right about McKenna but let’s be clear maybe Chelsea walked away from him in favor of Maresca. Increasingly, I worry less about so many of these Managers as they know that landing a big contract from a top club in the Premier League is a major pay day whether they are successful or get sacked and receive a big pay off. Chelsea have a history of dumping Managers and making them very wealthy in the process.
Said the same about Michael Beale when he was at QPR , few months later off he popped to Rangers and that went well for him , Simon changed his tune very fast

Simon's logic on McKenna is baffling. He's continually been saying that McKenna ought to turn down the massive opportunity of United or Chelsea because if he has a good season with Ipswich "imagine the even better opportunities" that he'll be presented with. Er, Simon, if McKenna has a good season with Ipswich then the opportunities will be, at very best, the United or Chelsea job again next summer. He's acting as if Real Madrid are going to come in for him after one season in the premier league at Ipswich. It makes no sense. If United are in for him, then this is the biggest club he'll get an offer for potentially the entirety of his career, an offer that probably won't be there in a years time. Simon's under this illusion that it's better to be patient and see if he can win the league with Ipswich.

Surely if he was going to go to another Premier league club then Brighton would have been a better fit.
