This is definitely the best video for this steamer that I have seen! Straight to the point. No loud overpowering music. My question was answered through you showing how to use and I'm so grateful for the trick! It's our trick now. ☺️
I bought the Jannu steamer and used it today and was livid when the back of my hair wasn't hot .. Then I found you and your great tip .. Thank you very much xx
Thank you, thank you so much. I had been trying to figure out how to get around this dilemma. This trick is perfect. I was going to get some adhesive and plastic that withstands heat to hold the steam in around the edges. You are a Godsend.
Great tip! Like other viewer stated, I also found myself going under face forward to get the back steamed. I would also use mini garment steamer. Have this same hooded steamer from Amazon purchase price was $80, but only cost me $20 with $60 gift card courtesy of Amazon after applied for their visa rewards card.
Thank you so much for this video. I just received this same steamer in the mail this weekend and heard that getting the steam to the back was an issue. I will be trying this!! Thanks again!
I use my steamer faithfully every week. Thank you for the tip. I can't wait to try it. I always rotate turning myself to the back so I can get the steamer to penetrate. I no longer have to do that with this tip😀
Hi; Thanks a Bunch for the Tip. Know, I'll be Using Two Towels one on Top of the Machine & one on my Neck. When, I used it, The heat did not get to the back of my Head. I Really needed this information.
OMG!!!!!! You are a life saver! I was trying to figure out why my steamer wasn't working (came in today). I figured i had the water cup thing on wrong (user error lol). Also the heat wouldn't get to the back of my hair either! So glad i found you!
Please use DISTILLED WATER ONLY to eliminate calcium build up and prevent rust from forming in the water reservoir! Do not use tap water, I repeat do not use tap water.
I hear that you aren’t supposed to use tap water as well! I just got my steamer a couple of days ago (same steamer as the one in this video) but the instructions say DO NOT USE DISTILLED OR HIGHLY PURIFIED WATER ...I wonder why as again everyone says distilled water works best...
No problem! Yes it really does work. It gets really hot under there so you may have to take the towel on and off depending on how much you can stand. LOL. I've done both twist and no twist and both ways are pretty much the same. Steaming in general for me helps with the detangling process. For my hair it seems to melt away tangles. P.S. Thanks for the sub!! :)
Have u founder steamer to boil too vigorously and then water boils over onto ur skin? I can only fill about 1/2 to the maximum line. Never did that for the first few times I used it then it started to boil over and I'd have to uncork the water plug to release the extra water
I know this is an old video, but I would really like to know if this steamer is still holding up. I heard a lot of reviews saying that it doesn't last long. I see that you use distilled water. Has this helped yours last? Thanks a bunch!
I never can remove the water cup after I finished using the steamer without making a mess with the left over water, that part was poorly designed, other than that this steamer is great, and your tip with the towel is spot on, Ill do it from now on
Hi I'm thinking of buying the huemiful hair steamer and I was wondering if you still use the one in this video? I've looked on amazon and eBay and nothing of this design popped up.
hello actually i am havinv difficulty in setting it up . the steam comes out from back and side area of the machine . And very less steam comes tgrough the cap . please suggest domd remedy
Thank you so very much! I've had my steamer for about 3 months and was having problems setting it up. My younger Cousin was supposed to come over and show me how, but I'm STILL waiting! I appreciate you and your video was straight to the point. I don't like watching videos with the music and the lip smacking, etc. I am a subscriber now! I have a few questions: 1)do you apply some type of product; 2)then wash your hair after steaming?
Hey, The steamer helps your deep conditioner penetrate the hair shaft faster. I think of it like I do a microwave oven. Do you need a microwave to heat your food? No, you can you the stove or an oven. Is It much faster to use the microwave? Yes. It's the same concept for the steamer. Yes, you can deep condition without it ( and I do often. I like overnight conditioning as well ) or if you don't have much time the steamer will speed up the process. I hope this helps. :)
You can get an entire gallon for .97 at Walmart. I also use distiller water for my iron for years. Have never had a problem with calcium buildup. Good luck!
Thank you for not rambling, no music and clearly explaining how to use this steamer💖
You’re welcome!
This was so helpful to me. Thank you. The instruction booklet was horribly unclear. Put this together in 30 secs after watching this video!

Great idea!!! Thanks for sharing!
You can also fill the steamer BEFORE attaching the hood or the wand. I find it's easier to do it that way. It's awkward twisting the cup on and off!
Good tip! Thanks for sharing!!
Great Tip! I'm going to try this today. Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks a million for that tip Curlfriend!
You're welcome!

I DC twice a month with the steamer and overnight DC the weeks in-between. That seems to work well for my hair. :)
Sometimes steam won't come out of the hood but when I remove it the steam comes out perfectly. Any advice
GOOOOOOOD IDEA!!!
Do you have a link, please? I understand this was 11 years ago.
Awesome, thank you
I never thought of turning around! LOL The back just went undone. Hahaha

I use this with conditioner. I apply the conditioner and sit under the steamer then rinse out. Thanks for watching :)

I am curious to know if you used distilled water? If so, how do you make it? I now have a steamer but haven't used it as of yet. Thanks
I just use tap plain tap water with no issue.
