    हिमाचल में सर्दियों में इस दाल को बिना टमाटर इस्तेमाल किए खट्टा बनाया जाता है और यह बहुत स्वादिष्ट लगती है ।

    यह दाल कुकर मै पकाते समय हम थोडा जादा पानी डालते है और ऊस पानी का उपयोग करके एक सूप बनाते है जिसे महाराष्ट्र के कोकण प्रांत मै कळण बोला जाता है ।

      इसका उबला पानी ही ज्यादा स्वादिष्ट होता है.. चावल में लिया जाता है..यह गर्म तासीर की होती है... सर्दियों में बहुत खाई जाती है गढ़वाल में..

    Thanks chef for this recipe but in Himachal we add dry mango instead of tomatoes and some daal crushed and added to make gravy. I love this daal in winter. Thank you chef for nice recipe.

    We love this dal in odisha. We usually add tamarind paste to make it little more sour,jaggery for sweetness and give,jeera, red chilli, saunf ,onion tampering

    Roast this dal in a dry pan, then grind it coarsely, after that make it as you(bhupi sir) have prepared. also fry one brinjal (small pieces)in oil and mix it after tomato. taste will be double.

      We roast this dal ang grind it coarsely with dry chillies, til, hing, salt. Eat with idli, dosa. All the ingredients should be roasted

    You can have a watery consistency as well since I am from uttrakhand so I can tell you.
    There is a herb called "gandrain" (maybe it's called "yarrow" in English) you can add it to this dal it taste just fantastic. Gandrain and gahat dal are very healthy.

    आज बनाई थी सर
    लेकिन ये तो 10 सिटी के बाद भी नही गली
    और सब कुछ करने के बाद भी 5 सिटी कुकर में लगाने के बाद भी नही पकी

    हि न्द‌ी में कुलथ और गढ़वाली में गैथ इसको
    पहले अचछी तरह साफ करना पड़ता है गैथ
    लाल , भूरी थोडी़ सी सलेटी रंग की होती है
    इसको अचछी तरह साफ करना होता है
    कयोंकि इसमें छोटे छोटे और बारीक प त्थर
    होते हैं इसलिये इसको सावधानी से साफ किया
    जाता है इसको पीस के फाणु भी बनाया जाता
    और चावल के साथ खाया जाता है वो भी हाथ
    के साथ वाह भ ई नाम लेते मुंह में पानी आ गया।

    Humare yahan toh is daal ko over night water soak kar than morning m silvate m grind kar phir chonk kar banate h jise hum gahat ka fhaand bolte h.
