    Great video! I had this done and it’s amazing. People always compliment me and say I look younger but I do not have that “filler” look. Best money I’ve spent on my skin ever. I have done maintenance only once since having it done over two years ago. It truly does give the busy results short of plastic surgery and worth the money.

    I just had this done a month ago and I’m so happy I finally did this. I had a new injector so I’m so glad you did this video because I have some questions. I’m 37, and wondering if the puffy firmness I’m seeing is the “Sculptra glow” still or if it’s actual collagen already built up? And I’m also wondering at what point does the plla stop stimulating extra collagen, meaning, when am I back to my baseline sluggish collagen building rate? After How many months?

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Год назад +4

      "puffy firmness" does not sounds like a sculptra glow. It may require some massaging. You want to make sure you massage regularly to avoid nodule formation. Sculptra glow is just glowing radiant skin that looks healthy.
      Collagen stimulation usually takes 6 months for it's full effect. Most people that do sculptor regularly, re inject once every year to 2 years.

    @acquiesce100 Месяц назад

    I'm thinking about Sculptra but have a major concern: You can't really control what happens
    once you've injected this under the skin. It will stimulate your your tissues to produce more connective tissue, more collagen etc and boosts the volume, which sounds great in the theory, but, if your body is very actively producing too much of that volume, you can end up with a face that looks really puffy, really overfilled. It's happened, it's not a good look and it's not really reversible. What has your experience been with this possible problem and as the years have past with new techniques etc, dilution, amount etc has this potential hideous problem not presented?

    I’ve seen people who have had this develop hard lumps under the skin, which is irreversible. Don’t want to take the chance..

      Yes, you get volume from your own collagen building over time. It takes up to 6 months

    If it is only stimulating your own body, then why could you do “too much”?

      overstimulation could create too much volume

      It does not make you look like you had filler, that's for sure. But it does fill in naturally. Go on the sculptra website and look at the before and afters on the time line, you'll get a good idea of what it looks like

    Thank you for educating us! How much is this treatment cost? Where on one's face do you inject? Why is this better than Juvederm which shows results immediately, does not need to be massaged in and stays for at least 6-12 months. I had Juvederm done with good results. What would make me change to Sculptra? Thank you!

      With traditional fillers you’re at the mercy of the injector as far as artistry. With this it’s a natural boost to your existing collagen. So you never get a fake or wonky look. You also don’t run the risk of it lingering around or moving and wanting to be rid of it years later.

      Fillers certainly have their place. This is great for those who don't want fillers, those who want to improve skin quality (filler can't do that), those who want to look exactly like themselves. If you look at the before and after photos, they just look younger but like themselves.
