Pretty neat short. Had my attention from start to finish! I noticed the prop immediately as the bottom half of the 11th doctors sonic screwdriver but thats only because I have one myself and am a huge who fan. Love image quality from the BMPCC4K as well! Saving up for my own right now!
Wow! Beautifully shot. Maybe you should watch wandering dp to even further step up your game. (I learned so much about cinmeatography from him. But like all the others also stated this is beautifully shot and graded!
Okay! I've actually seen this short film haha you need to be making more stuff like this! Absolutely stunning and you have an eye for composition! You have any new scripts working or anything? What are some of your inspirations? Your favorite filmmakers?
Hello everyone! I am really confused in choosing between Sony a6600, a6400, Black Magic Pocket 4K with having a budget up to 1200$. I am new in this area & wishing to make short films with the same Hollywood Cinematic effects. Appreciate your useful recommendations.
Ok, I have a few questions, firstly, why did he forget about the artifact wich clearly was amazing to do what it did, then remember a while later? Did the transportation make him forget? Secondly why was it buried so deep in the sand like it had been there for a long time? Time travel? Or just a portal to somewhere else? Ha, only joking, it's a great short, and as others have said, really well composed. It I'm wondering what degree of colour grading was done post production? Because the colours look a little washed (no offence) obviously I'm here because I'm seriously considering buying the bmpcc4k
How did you get your colors so filmic at 1:12 , were you using diffusion filters or a strong nd. reminds me of a budget version shot of the ocean scene Portrait of a Lady on Fire which was shot on the Red Monstro
It's a combo of great lighting, great location, 1/4 Black Pro Mist Filter and the colour grade. I also use Film Convert Pro to help give the colours a more filmstock look.
Most of the audio came directly from the camera in the end. We had an issue with our external mics so we didn't end up using them. All other audio was from Epidemic Sound I believe.
This is beautifully shot! The quality is really good and fun to watch. If you don’t mind me asking, what equipment and lens did you use on your BMPC4K when shooting this? Tilta camera cage? Moza Air 2 or Ronin? Thanks for your help! I subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!
Pretty much all Smallrig components for the cage and accessories. Shot handheld but I ususally use the Zhiyun Crane 2 for my gimbal shots. Got some bts pics of the rig I used on a similar shoot on my website www.cinecaptures.com/short-films

Gotta love the shots on the beach with the mist in the back and him walking in from the side... Got a bit of a Star Wars vibe there ;)
Great job guys!!! Glad to see more narrative work being done with the BMPCC 4k and 6k!!!
Wow! Mind blown with the quality you got out of the pocket 4k. I love the story as well. Very well-executed!
That teleportation effect is SO clean and sick!
Wow it's a perfect Hollywood look 💯💯💯💯💯
Very nice. Almost makes me homesick. It's been a while since I've been back.
Great work! Love it!
Amazing stuff. Congrats. How do you manage to avoid youtube degrading the footage. Still looks excellent in 1080p
tip : during high contrast scenes under expose when using pro mist that will better control highlights , not worried about shadow detail in the day
absolutely beautiful
awesome short. the beach location too is really epic.
RIFT TO GOOOOOO :)
Auckland City baby ⚡

I noticed the slight "film jitter" with the titles, nice touch.
Thanks, really love that look. Makes it feel a lot more organic.
Film Tech How did you do it?
@@remotefaith Just a simple shake plugin from Hitfilm placed on the text
SUPER CINEMATOGRAPHY MPRABO..................................
great work man
Awesome! Did you use a green screen to do the effect?
I shot it both with and without greenscreen but ended up going without greenscreen and just rotoscoping due to poor lighting producing a bad key
@@FilmTechNZ You should do tutorials!!! This is awesome!

@@FilmTechNZ Exactly which filmstock did you use? Did you use it at 100%?
Great Work
Really great stuff and great location. What beach is that?
Piha beach, New Zealand
Really well done!!
Which Leica lenses are you using? R? M?
I think it's m4/3s but I could be wrong...
@@AndresRuiz-gs8vm Yeah they're M4/3
Andres Ruiz cool. *•• try and check them out.
Best camera bmpcc4k :)

Thank you !!!
audio setup?

@@FilmTechNZ How much fps, shutter, iso, wb, and tint did you use on the camera ❓🤔🤔
is there any post stabilization?
There's warp stabilizer on a few of the shots but most are pure handheld
Nice!! ♥
I'm not going to listen to an assault with 6 points in his title

Premiere Pro for the editing and Adobe After Effects for the VFX

Yeah I used the ND and Pro Mist at the same time
