Hey Sandra, that's another fantastic video! I love your determination and I have definitely seen a lot of improvement. Keep up your fight and keep us updated on how it goes!
Watching how you try getting up from the floor. I think if you find something to strap your knees. You could push up without worrying your knees flopping around. You need to train your upper body strength. I believe you will eventually find what works for you. I see persistence and determination. You can do it👌
Hi. I have seen a bit of your channel and clip and along with the ones I have seen so far, I think you are so super courageous and tough who still dare to have a RUclips channel and film you and your everyday life and how you handle your problems as disabled. So heaven wow. ❗❗❗
Hi Sandra, I am Jeff Thomas from Maryland, USA. I own a company that is developing medical devices here in the U.S. I stumbled across your video and had an idea which may help you to get into your wheelchair more easily from the floor. What if you attached two clamp on handles onto the front white poles of your wheelchair just below where they curve toward the seat. That way you would have something behind you that is a little lower than the top curved portion of the white poles to grab onto to help lift yourself up to the seat. I searched Google for "clamp on handles" and have attached a link below as an example of what I am talking about. The handles shown as an example may not be the right size or the best option to choose from. They are just an example for you to see. Ideally, the handles would have a quick disconnect feature or be able to fold down when not in use. Also, maybe you could use a small belt or strap with velcro and put it around your legs just below your knees to help hold your legs together and in position while you are lifting yourself into the wheelchair. Send me a message with your email address and I will email you or we can talk on Facebook if you wish. Best of luck to you my dear! ...Jeff. images.app.goo.gl/1btmDPxF8GxnQLAT6
Jeff, I hope I can bother you a bit if you permit. I am a quadriplegic, and the occupational therapist keep putting me in a chair that puts a lot of pressure and pain. I keep saying I need a chair that buckets or has more dump so my knees are above my belt. I believe them looking from on the outside think office type positioning. Like them playing basketball or Olympic, the legs are up. I can see it gives them more scapula and shoulder range to thrust forward. I almost want to cry when I can explain my needs, that I suggest another way by making the two front wheels an inch and half higher. This is going to be my fourth wheelchair. I am trying to find examples or other styles of chairs. I am on a Q7 Quickie. They gave me a demo. T.i. I would not mind keeping the old one if they can modify it properly. The stitching for the seat is undoing and the antiTip bars snapped. I am a quad so I know putting more dump and dip on my chair, it is more easy to flip back. Now to be safe and comfortable, I need stronger anti tip bars. I have been paralyzed since 1996, so I am thinking the way of thinking of wheelchairs is thrown off when the able does the modifying.
@@carmentrillo6933 Hi Carmen - I am not sure what you want me to do. Are you asking me for some ideas to help you solve the problem that you are having with your wheelchairs?
Dear Madam, The best way to know any auxiliaries for the likes of your menu is to first raise the trunk and hands first, and then step back from the stairs, albeit with help, to a stage where The arms easily lift the trunk up The second step is to use the chair to adjust the foot of the wheelchair first and then the wheelchair thanks to your effort

You’re doing really good I don’t think you realize getting from the floor to the couch is a big deal. In my opinion after watching this video you accomplished your goal. Getting from the floor on the couch and back in the wheelchair. That’s great really great. I think you’re already doing exercise when you transfer like that. That’s therapy you’re doing great.
SandraH May I suggest you may try to put a small customized detachable or folding board in front of your wheelchair. You can folded it down so that you have a step before going to the wheelchair. I see the chair is really to high even I with a strong arm can not climb that chair so try to improvised.
@@SandraHwheelchair we can improvise by seeking help with a mechanic at a welding shop or machine shop. Sorry if I don't have an image but I can describe it to you. The metal board has a length of maybe 3 or 4 inches in width and must be as long that each ends has a hinge welded to the white bars of your wheelchair or it can be detachable with a lock on both ends. Look at some ordinary common wheelchairs you will see 2 metal or plastic steps that supports the feet, that is what I'm talking about but what I suggest the step must be higher to the ground maybe 1 feet so that you can rest your butt on it before going to the ground or climbing up your wheelchair.
