I'm not getting frustrated. I'm trying to find motivation and not give up. You should talk to a coach and a nutritionist. Crossfit is a good way..you should try it!
I know the struggle is real. I was so happy for you when you finally made it onto the couch! I have had several days where I had to lay on the floor in between to get my strength back and it took me around an hour to get up from the floor. Bravo!
My therapist says those exercises are great. You’re doing great those exercises are great for you. Great job. Getting out of the wheelchair is good to you it helps the blood flow circulation. Intern you’ll have more energy. Really good you’re doing good.

I am a c 5/6/7 incomplete quad, ive been in a chair for 27 years.. if you swing the front wheels around to the front, it will make the chair more stable so your weight will be transfered over the front wheels, and the back wheels will not come off the ground while transferering from the ground back into the chair. the biggest problem i have is the seat cusion lifting off making it difficult to get prpoerly seated because the seat cusion bends and folds in half while i am trying to get seated. then i have to find a regular chair or something i can transfer onto to straighting out the roho cusion. I see this is an old video, but i hope you see this and it helps you. your an Inspiration. :) ..
Hi Sandra! That was a very impressive video. I'm a fitness trainer and so I loved seeing the ways you find to adapt various exercises. It definitely broadened my horizon and I totally love your passion and determination! And that transfer up was a fantastic upper body exercise in its own right! If I may ask, wouldn't it be easier to transfer directly into the chair? It seemed like part of the problem was your hands sinking into the couch, i.e. the couch absorbing a lot of your energy that you needed for pushing up. In case you make another exercise video someday: From a professional standpoint I'd love to see how your muscles (especially your arms) react to isometric exercises, i.e. exercises where you don't push or pull, but hold some kind of halfway position as long as you can. I'd love to see how long you can hold such positions until the muscles give out (for example during the bicep curls, overhead presses, dips, push-ups). And how they react if you repeat these holds about 4-5 times back to back. Maybe you have time to record that someday :)

Yes, the purpose is to transfer directly into the chair but I didn't find yet a good way to do that safe (my wheelchair with breaks on still moves when i try to get closer with my body and I try to get up from the ground so I'm trying to figure out how to do that). Sounds interesting the exercises you proposed. I'll make some time and try that out.
It would be nice to see more... Im a para but have a newly quad friend. He doesn't yet have much tricepses, nor wrist movement, but It's so important to get the heart pumping. Maybe a video where you are showing and also explaining why and the purpose would really help as well. thanks
@@SandraHwheelchair I'm just going off of what Julia Trainer mentioned in her comment. I think you being a qaud but still doing those things to stay in shape is huge. Quadriplegic is another world from paraplegic. Its alot easier for me to work out and get around. So showing your workout routine with the reasons to do them, and how its benefits that comes with doing them would be amazing. Or like you floor transfer from the floor to the couch (Inspired). I really did not think Quadriplegics could do that. never seen it till today.

Put the dumbell on the couch grab it with your left hand, your right hand on the chait. Also if their was something behind the couch that you could grab, so you can pull yourself up on the couch. you have to find things that will make things easier for you.
oh amazing Sandra (again), may i ask you, how long did it take to you to learn this last transfer? Also do you use only a manual wheelchair or you also have and an 'electric'' one? Also i would like to make a video explaining what is hapen with the sansation below the level of your injury..

I think you must use a lower sofa. Those foams are too high. I suggest that you better take it off before you lift yourself up so it will be much less complicated climbing up.

Im a paraplegic and my sister annas paralysis are really bad we skeep in tge same room and sometimes i see her struggling to get in her wheelchair i wish i could help her getting in but im paralyzed too

Props to this lady for adapting so well to her disability etc. But I would strongly argue that her entire raison d'etre - RUclips channel, lotsa views 'n' subscribers, simping boyfriend, etc. - is predicated predominantly on the fact that she is first and foremost a pretty girl, who also happens to show off her stockings a lot. My brother does not have the use of his legs because of cerebral palsy, and is also - by his own admission - no oil painting, and he has lost count of the number of bars and clubs that he has been ejected from because he dared to do literally nothing more than try to speak to women while being a "retard". He has even been arrested twice for the same "offence", and it took all of my ingenuity and rage to stop him being genuinely charged with "causing a disturbance" on both occasions

Yes that’s it. You don’t have to increase weights on the dumbbells just to the ascend point where you can make it to the chair.
