Had a thought. Would a couple of good thick books or something solid/strong & thick placed under each of your push up handles give you a better advantage for getting up higher? Less complicated than my other comment I made the other day...
I so want to get out of my recliner and help you there has got to be a way for you to transfer from the floor to the chair.
Sandra, I truly admire your patience, you stay cool and collected no matter how tough the challenge. Although I have SMA Type III, the way I move around is very similar to you, have you tried using a transfer board to go from one chair to another? That's how I do it, it's much easier.
Hi there! Thank you for your comment! Hmm sounds good the transfer with a board in between the wheelchairs and safer but I can do it without also (although it's more risky).

Hi "SandraH" In my humble opinion, the two chairs do not convince me at all; both cause physical wear, except for some characteristics that you mention in both chairs, but in the end it is you who has the last decision. You take care of yourself.

Your honestly inspiring. On December 13 I fell 20ft at work and became a paraplegic. It's been a month since my injury and I'm barely learning to transfer from the bed to the chair but I need a lot of help still.
Oh I'm sorry for you but you'll get much better. Just have dome patience and work hard and you'll be independent

@@SandraHwheelchair I was watching your Q&A video and you said you were in rehab for a year. Were you able to go to and from rehab or did you have to live there for a year. I ask because I'm going to be here for 2 months and then I get to go home. I'm still going to have rehab but I get to live at home.
@@ahberlowkz852 yes I stayed for 1 year in rehabilitation. I was going home only in the weekends after 5 months of just living in the rehabilitation centre. 2 months will pass fast for you!

It's so difficult to do this or transfer from one chair to another some people don't understand and think it's easy but it is not it's so hard to lift 90% of your body using just your hands i can't even lift my butt off the floor one time i fall and i stayed on the floor for hours 😢

I googled your problem what I found out is you need to pull the seat out of the wheelchair and use it as a aid to raise your bottom off the floor to sit on elevating you a couple inches higher it's worth a try let me know how it works. Hugs
