ThoT had a night slash user as well even tho he wasn't using that moveset it still a Mon that has night slash as a suggested move! And irdc who u are u can't be raging over a night slash %12 boost when u using Whiscash and spamming scald debuffs🙄😂 especially when Mud Bomb would've been just as good and more efficient saving energy! All the boosts and debuffs have been in the game for years🤷🏾‍♂ Thats like getting mad a sandwich has bread on it lol.. Even if RNG bailed u out it was always a chance it could happen,and u chose a fun pick rather than going full boring meta like he did🤘🏿GG

If he had terrible IVs, perhaps. Night Slash does +/- 25% damage so he would need to be in the red to KO the Whiscash

I think night slash boost ist good. It makes the game more fun. If its so little chans its more like its a bonus
if its boostes or you can say its a risk you are willing to take if you chose this attack. If ice punch and night slash is equally good you might chose NS couse of the chans or you want IP to be safe, your choice

With Scald it is a different thing cousse its 50% so your win rate seen in a whole tournament can be dependent on a coinflip. Dont good.

I picked Night Slash because I didn't need Ice Punch - but not for the boost potential, it was for its pace. I guess it paid off though...

The difference between Scald and Night Slash is though that Scald is simply Whiscash' main thing that it has going for it (and is far more efficient than Mud Bomb). It's a strong attack and I think it's a major mistake to give it a 50% chance to debuff.
Night Slash for the boost is never a strategy you pick beforehand when building a team.. It's just.. there. As much as I love punching down all the Whiscash, I think it's very much demotivating for the other player to have a perfect strategy or call and then your opponents get bailed out by luck rather than playing well. Maybe for GBL it's fine since one win or loss more doesn't matter as much there, but I wish I could turn all of it off for actual competitive. I'll just have a sandwich without bread then :)
