Hello and thank you ! That is indeed a very interesting piece of kit ! What I would love is a hardware-solution for high delays (from 5s to up to 2 hours), to playback a stream that has been recorded earlier. Do you think a combination of 2 such units (one as a recording, the other as a playback machine) will work ? Thank you so much !
It's a real shame that the network interface is only being utilised to connect the unit to the internet and a separate optional (ie. added cost + time) interface is required to accept network audio. Those features should have been swapped so that the networked audio came standard, and connecting it to the internet was the optional extra interface.
Hi. I have a sscdr250N that when you impost the date and the time before making any recording in the pendrive, it appears an hour after, example if i want to impost 1am, i have to put 2am, same thing also in the 2 sscdr200 that i have. Is there a way to resolve this problem? Regards Piero
It sounds like you may have an incorrect time zone or daylight saving time setting on your TASCAM recorders that is causing the time stamps to be off by an hour.
Maybe I miss something but other then the 19" Capability and that this works without a Computer there is no real benefit against the "normale" at Home or Studio Setup?! For This price around 700,- Euros I easyly can buy some Zoom Recorder and maybe a Loupedeck CT for the Sound Snippet Trigger thing and do the "Automation" with a little script on my Laptop myself. Or maybe I miss the cool Part here at all ... please let me know.
You can even do this under $100 with just a pi or even free with scripts..... I guess this is mainly for broadcast redundancy and so on. But for regular consumers and most use-case you don't need this IMO.

I have the version with CD too - Is it capable of wifi - or is it only networkable via a CAT5 cable? Thanks :)
The TASCAM SS R250N with CD version can may only be networked via a cable for file transfer and control.

It's a convenient set up for someone who doesn't have all the equipment to make a podcast the traditional way.
