Ken Tamplin is the real deal. I purchased his course. My daughter Ysabel and i are working though the program. It is well worth it to purchase the How To Sing Better Than Anyone Else course. Thank you Brian Merk
I am doing his program as well. I been doing it for 7 months and took me a while to get the hang of things. Keep going. I promise it gets easier. Hard work and dedication pay off. I been doing the program for 2 hours a day + 5-6 days a week.
Have you noticed the depth or knowledge and details in his outlines? There’s so much info - I think it maybe best to learn it using the spiral technique- where one begins and then circles back over the previously reviewed knowledge while simultaneously adding a new chapter- and continue the video lm the body and are we we
Well what can I say. I was just doing my work out with Ken using his treasure course. And i just, just now told my wife that this the best thing ever happen to me for my musical life, than I met with Ken on RUclips. I jumped on to purchase his course. And I am learning so so much!! All my vocal progress credit goes to one and only Ken Tamplin, that's it.
Takes me back to high school. I rebelled against the grunge because I so loved the hair metal. But these songs just kicked ass. They were the sound track to my life back then. Those DeLeo's can write some incredible music.
Hey Ken! Had to pull out my STP from my music library. Haven't listened to these in awhile. STP jams! Great music, great vocals. Thanks Ken for reminding me about this incredible band. Hello neighbors volume is going up!!🔈🔉🔊
There's another vocal coach on RUclips that was making the case that Vedder wasn't really doing what everyone says vocalists of the 90s do to get that sound. If you listen to Vedder speak, especially back then, that's just how he talks. But I think he created a style that a lot of people tried to imitate, and which most people sounded ridiculous trying to imitate. I think you teaching how to sing it properly and then close down a bit sounds a lot more natural than some of the imitators did in the 90s. Love to see grunge era stuff on your channel since thats what I grew up on!
😂 that starters joke. Naughty truth.... dude you're one of the only vocal expert online that demonstrates the goods and keeps posting new covers regularly. My hat to you Ken Tamplin.
Never heard of plush stone temple pilots Scott weiland never heard of them or him Ken I'll have to check them out I love watching you sing Ken you always rocking and spot on on your demonstrations and how to sing like them showing us the techniques and tricks to use when singing like them love watching you and hearing you your the Jedi master when it comes to singing man may the force be with you or the voice be with you 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ken, have you ever seen/watched VoicePlay? Five guys who sing acapella and add creative theatrics. The gentleman who sings bass (can't remember his name) is astounding - I can't believe how low he can go. It's like sitting right in front of a subwoofer at high volume. I have no doubt that you would have no problem with that low register. And you've probably heard & seen them, but if you haven't, please do. So enjoyable!
Wow. A lesson about a group of dead singers. All who I grew up listening to. I tried to tackle this song. I’m taking notes on your Scott approach. Very nice. I’ve never tried singing cleanly first. I’ve always tried to sing naturally like Layne, Scott, or Chris up front. Maybe that’s why I lose my tone… go flat or sharp. I want to sound rugged and tough. Not like a choir boy. But to achieve it first as a choir boy is the secret. I think this approach would help me when tackling Brent Smith from Shinedown.
Anyone who's familiar with you knows that you don't suggest anything that you do not demonstrate yourself. Great singing Ken! This is one of my go-to songs for Karaoke. Really fun song to sing.
I hear what you're saying . I've encountered a ton of vocal coaches ( what ever that means today ) whom I've never heard sing a song all the way through. I had one formal teacher 2002 - 2004 and she still performs to this day . I was actuactually her first student . Before she started her own academy . Heard her records and covers . Anyway my point is I got really lucky . I'm 40 now so I'm considered a 90s kid but in the 90s I hated the Seattle scene and listened all 80s Metal and Rock back then and now . Regardless you did an exceptional job explaining and demonstrating how these 90s grunge singers approached and executed their songs .
You and Liepe are the two that will actually sing some real damn rock vocals. Only two channels I learn from. Great f’n song and it WAS the swag of these great rock vocalists.
These other coaches never actually sing any songs. It's relatively easy to eek out a line or two, that is not an example. It's another thing altogether to actually grade the quality of the voice on not only an entire song, but multiple songs in many styles with many students demonstrating themselves. This is the only true way to know if a method is actually working or not.
Hi Ken! I enjoy your videos on RUclips. I find you to be a wealth of knowledge. I really want to learn how to sing, however, I feel like I’m not doing things correctly without a vocal coach actually listening to me, pointing out and correcting the mistakes I am making. How would your course benefit someone like me? I’m sure your course is great because you are very talented, and are thorough with your instruction. I’m just not confident I can do these techniques without someone critiquing me. Do you think someone like me would need to take lessons in person with a coach? Thanks!
Many people use my course and, when they have begun to have a solid foundation, will schedule a private lesson to fine tune. That's pretty common. However, hearing that from me may not give you the assurance you seek. I suggest you join my vocal forum which has more than 20,000 members. Ask those people about their experience with the course. They will share, honestly, with you. That will help you make a more informed decision as to whether the course is a right fit for you! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Can you say…. Jim Morrison? A voice like this sounds much better with a Baritone singer than with higher range. Not that it can’t be done but a low(er) ranged singer really shines with this sort of stuff. Just my .2
This is a great video! You should do a whole series where you analyze your and your students' covers segment by segment. Your covers are top notch but breaking them down and explaining what you're doing is even better!
That was amazing. Also Ken, you're the only other person I've ever heard sing the right words in the chorus. Every lyrics site and even Google is wrong. As a southern man I can tell you with conviction that Scott says "to find dead" not "to find it".
Ken .. That tune for you Ken is a no brainer.. sounded great 👍 People can really learn from this I know I do , thx bro… Real Vocal coaches are very hard to come by ..I wish I would have found you 20 y ago .. I would have solved many of my vocal situations I found myself in …peace Thx again…444
I think the challenge of this song isn’t so much the range, it’s not sounding like everyone’s dad doing Karaoke. When done poorly, this is I feel like, the ultimate dad jarl song. But when done well, such a weirdly calm rock song. Well done as always ken.
Plush Rocks! Outstanding Singer, Tutorial by Ken Tamplin... And I have deeper tone, I love it Ken. RIP Scott Weiland! For his real personality? Check out David Letterman, Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland and Slash... Slither!
Hello Ken. Could you do a vocal analysis of Dmitri Hvorostovsky? He was such an amazing baritone but had this strange tongue placement that i can not seem to understand.
I can play this on the guitar but I never thought about singing it. My voice is out of tune and throat is scratchy a lot. I think it's my high BP meds. Some of the side effects are a dry throat and cough.
Excuse me could you sing an entire song for us ? LOL hahaha-😂 I couldn't resist Ken forgive me ! 😂 Great job as always. Have you ever heard of a old singer Alvin Stardust he passed 2014 I was just wondering if you ever heard of him ? Peace 🌟🌟🌟🙏🏻🖤
I feel that I am real good until the tightness wants to shut me down. It troubles me. I mean I want need to be capable across multiple levels, I guess I need a vocal coach at this point. However I am somewhat a bit a mutt in that I play keys, guitars, harp and yet this break point is holding me back. I need help to break through this. I must do this.
I will shut up now after this, the human voice is the most unique and surprising instrument on planet earth and/or the cosmos. I feel that emotion drives alot of it.
Grunge music has deep full meaning individual vocals. Gotta check out ending part of Joe Rogan recent interview with Jewel, she goes hard on her way of singing introspect songs adding yodel in a pleasant way . Got damnit she rock. Good insightful strategy like always bro🤙🏾

I did well on this lesson with you coach. Although, found that my upper jaw (TMJ) felt tight and sore after. Love this song!
Srone Temple Pilots is the most underrated band of alltime.
One other thing I always thought the lyrics to this song had the weirdest lyrics . This confirmed it good sir .
