I'm in Northern California. We have deep lakes most river channels are 100-250ft deep. Creek channels are just as deep. I would for you to come here and use some of your tactics here. I'm serious We have slabs 2lb crappie are very normal. But finding them is the challenge.

What garmin unit are you running for side vu? Images look really crisp!

Thanks for uploading. Question for you, is it standard to see the cone width - bottom right hand of the sonar screen? Is this a setting? I don’t see it on my unit - still learning. Thanks.

You may have to turn on the "a-scope" in the 2d sonar screen settings

@@FloppingCrappie I couldn’t get the width reading to work. I see the visual similar to what you have. But I don’t see the number and I couldn’t locate the setting you suggested. Still appreciate the help

Why so much clutter on the 2d? I know some are fish closer to the bottom, but everything else cannot be.

I'm still struggling with side imaging and scroll speed. trying to understand how far behind the boat the object are. It seem like the scroll speed is the same with down imaging as with side imaging. I know i need to spend more time learning my unit , but don't get out much,so when I do I want to fish not fiddle. thank for what you do. Always worth watching

Hi Jeff I am a newbie with all this shit too and 56 years old so I have two strikes against me! Lol but from what experts have told me the moment the image appears on your screen it is directly behind your boat. So I got some buoy markers and threw them out as soon as saw an image I was interested in. Then I went back to the marker and found I was in a couple of feet give or take of the image. I’m getting the hang of it. I was ready last year to set my new boat on fire and sink the sob i was so damn frustrated! Im having a better season this year! 🤣

I saw your running booth down and side on 1070 khz. Every other video says not to run them both on the same frequency?

Can you do a video or do you have one already, on how you locate crappie fishing spots on a new lake during the summer? What process you go through and how you narrow down to the areas you fish?
