    When I went to Universal by myself last November, I watched this show three times in a row. Despite the script obviously being basically the same, it was still very entertaining each time. My favorite line is "This isn't Disney, I don't have to be nice to kids.", but the joke about everything in Orlando being so expensive will never get old either.

      When i went to universal by myself a few months ago (i have an annual pass) i i went to the horror make up show, the kid animal show , and the bourne show and then i went on the mummy single ride line. I love going solo you get to do whatever you want.

    I've been to Universal Orlando hundreds of times, and I ALWAYS make time to go see this show atleast once! It's one of my favorite attractions and always entertaining, even if you've seen it before because watching the people that havent is just as entertaining as the show itself! It's a must do for me!

    I’ve experienced this show countless times over the years - it’s a must whenever we’re in the park. We started sitting in the back section because my mom has been picked more than once as the volunteer lol, a lot of the veteran performers seem to really enjoy their job and have their own spin on both roles and it’s a lot of fun to watch
    Excellent video as always 👍

    Had annual passes to Universal Studios with my grandparents for about four years when I was a teenager. It was an incredibly impactful and memorable experience, and one of my favorite parts was always the Horror Makeup Show. While my grandma and I loved riding coasters, my brother and grandpa weren't as into that. But some things, we always did all together-- and every single time we visited, we would all go together to Horror Makeup Show. Though the material stayed the same, the show was a different experience every time, from the one-liners thrown in, to the unique audience interactions, to which moments made the hosts break character and laugh. The show is so great because it's very real. It's hilarious, but also informative. A whole lot of it is based on audience interaction, and it has a level of authenticity that I appreciate-- "this isn't Disney, I don't have to be nice to kids"-- "that'll be $20. Welcome to Orlando"-- it's not kidding around, it's relatable, and that makes it fun. From our time there, we got to know most of the different cast members and even had favorite matchups for "host" and "makeup artist". It was truly such a special part of my time at Universal and I'm so glad it's still running, I hope it continues long enough that if I ever have kids, I can bring them and one of them can be the one to throw an object at the curtain :)

  • @Katie-Us

    I saw the show for a first time in a long time this year, and I figured out the audience participant is another actor through sheer luck! I had seen the “audience member” in a local show years before, and knew he was a professional actor for the parks. It makes sense with all of the tech and things they use throughout the show as well. Thanks for the great video!

    A little something you may not have known;
    "Blood" in movies is actually Karo corn syrup and red food coloring. Has many advantages, cheap and easy to get at most supermarkets, though sticky, fairly easy to clean up (unlike the real thing), can't spoil, even edible. And ultimately, looks more like real blood on camera than real blood.

    I never saw this show. But this set is incredibly familiar. I remember a totally different show that started in the makeup department where an actor was sculpting a creature face, then moved to special effects, then had us walk by a prop warehouse, and then we sat in the editing room and watched the actor edit a clip from Xena Warrior Princess where she jokingly sang “I can see clearly now the crane is gone” while painting out the crane that was suspending Gabrielle.
    Is that an extended version of this show? Or was this show shut down for a while and another one used this set? Was there ever a show that highlighted Hercules and Xena and took you through all the backstage departments? I’d love to know if my memory is a mash-up or spot on.

    Great job! I really miss the Phantom pre-show. Last time I saw this show was April 2014 and they had a terrible woman working as the makeup artist. Overacting terribly, writhing around on the stage and singling me out as the "stooge" asking me to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation. I complained to Guest Relations and I'm taking it as a good sign that your video didn't seem to have any reference to her.
