The band never played this live and, along with everything produced during Navarro period, they basically pretend this never happened. I suspect they only created this because they were contractually obliged to do so. However, in my opinion, this is a genuinely amazing cover.
I think they only play stuff they wrote with John. So they don't play anything from Hilai nor Dave. Though they obviously had Josh play John's stuff but I dunno if John will play Josh's stuff now he's back with them 🤷🏻♂️

I have not heard this song since i was about 8-10 years old. I'm 26 now and while I was at work I began to hear the sound of the radio filtered vocals and those 3 chords in my head. I couldn't place a finger on what it was. After replaying the sound in my head for a few days I went to youtube to see if I could find the song. At that moment the neurons connected and I could see Beavis and Butthead in my mind. I typed in the search bar "song with beavis and butthead"... When I saw the thumbnail I immediately knew I had figured it out. What a great song! Crazy that the melody stayed in my head and popped back out this many years later. Thank you to Rick, my baby sitter who played this song that he had recorded from MTV on VHS back in the early 2000's.
I will never get over the fact that chronologically this is what comes right before Scar Tissue in the videography of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Like night and day.

I googled it and apparently Brooks has a huge amount of control over his back catalog, and has purposefully tried to keep it off most streaming services because of how little artists get paid for streaming. He made a dealing with Amazon Music since Amazon sells physical copies of his music as well. Spotify does have live versions of some of his big hits.
