Jack is amazing. He's a sweetheart too So welcoming when we got to meet him in the early days. They had no roadies so we got to help them out. I was like a kid because I got to carry the Spikey ball! That was their 1st time in Dallas. They played Clearview which was a perfect venue for the show. But it was 1989 and nobody had heard of them yet. I brought 16 people to the show and there were probably another 50. So we really got a Killer show that was extra intimate. Marcus was dancing and he was almost scary doing an intense ballet to the heavy sounds spinning that spike ball into our faces. We were all out of our heads and loving it. That's how they came to know us. The big group of kids in Texas, minds completely blown.
That's a fantastic story! I have my own similar from the Austin shows, and stories about EBN and DJ Spooky that are similar. We were so lucky. Hope you are well :)
I always tell people when I introduce them to meat beat manifesto that they are the grandfathers of electronica and techno (not necessarily the first but definitely pioneers that made it great). They are The Beatles of techno!
Holy crap, where has this video been? I was nearly 20 years into my fandom when this video was recorded and now that is nearly 20 years later!! Glad I found this almost 40.years later!
Cant believe this tour was almost 13 years ago.Caught it here in orlando and to this day it was the best audio visual experience ive ever had.So amazing. When I am Electro came on the whole crowd went bonkers including me,what an amazing night.TY Meat Beat for the music and happiness you have created for so many ppl.You are revolutionary to the electronic scene!everytime i hear your music i feel😃❤💚💜💙💛😱😇
Can't tell you what month, it was cold and rainy. I drove three hours and being unfamiliar with Atlanta I followed my buddy's lead. Even the venue, I think it was Smiths Olde Bar. Maybe somebody else can remember, I guess I was a mess Great times!
You haven't heard real electro until you've heard MBM. There's plenty of great artists out there but none are as unique, visionairy, or complex as MBM. I like my chemical brothers, aphex twin, death in Vegas, etc but Jack Dangers owns!!!
Ryan McFarlane That's awesome, I agree. The In Dub DVD is really really worthwhile as well. My friend is a MBM collector and he informed me a while back that early EBN stuff was produced by Jack Dangers. If you check out Jack's "The Forger" videos, you'll see he re-adapted their aesthetic interestingly. Great stuff on both fronts, keep it real dude!
This 10x better than Chemical Bros and Prodigy put together. Shame that they just do laptop only now. I get it, considering Jacks debilitating condition and the fact that they can replicate all this stuff on laptops and Abelton or whatever.
How many can they draw to a show? 300? How does that pay the bills? I have been to a lot of shows. Hands down, MBM is the craziest shit I have ever seen. Not even close. For some reason, MBM live just does not translate to other formats. So maybe they can't get the audience to make this worth their while. Holy shit though, every time I see them live I just can't believe what I saw. Mind... blown... absolutely. It's a mainline into the amygdala. They've tapped into something.
ah--no fucking way there are 10x better than either band...whatever the hell mathematical system you subscribe to that dictates that conclusion. Perhaps the fellow you mentioned is debilitated because he makes shitty music. You are what you listen to, what you eat, what you do etc. Before you attack--1991-2000? Good shit man. Good shit. Noone knows what this stuff is.

Yep, cheers!
The kings of electronic music
Understatement!
Hands down. Some say Kraftwork, I say MBM. The complexity of Jack Dangers soundscapes are downright genius. Superior even to EBN.

Still a gold standard for this type of thing.
6 months later. Still looking for gold that’s aged like wine. Glad this recording is still everywhere.
I'm not sure if Lynn Farmer is of this world.
He's a human metronome.
I was front row for this tour, in Denver, and was completely mind blown.
25 years later from when I first heard these tunes and I still love them
Caught the Atlanta show of this tour, also bought a numbered and autographed CD of the show--#601--hells yeah!
Oh sick man! Wish I caught them here in Atlanta. When was this?

It was the Cotton Club I think. It’s been gone a while, like memory. Such a great show. Wish I had a recording of it
You guys rock! Lynn is such an excellent drummer!
seen 'em twice, mind-blowing; audio-visual extravaganza

Fantastic performances. love MBM.

One of the best live DVDs I've seen.

stevery franklefuchs That's awesome! Never knew that! A buddy of mine brought up EBN awhile back so we tossed some on before having movie night.
