    So glad I discovered this! I saw MBM in LA about 10 years ago and I saw how they do this sort of thing live. Super awesome and kudos to Jack for digging thru thousands of hours of old records, tapes and videos to find this stuff.

    Does anyone know the name of the video-splicing software MBM uses? I know it's a particular application/real-time splicing device they use, and I recognize the effect seen at 1:10 on the keyboard player from their live shows circa 2006-2008. I just can find any info on it!

    The very best video editing and layering I've ever seen. Simply laid down for a killer groove!
    I've watched this over 100 times by now!

    Super cool. Also check out Emergency Broadcast Network. They were doing this kind of thing in the early nineties using some of the same source material as in this video. EDIT: yeah, I'm only about 5 years too late with that comment.

    Genius indeed...check out EBN (emergency broadcast network) from the early 90's. They were the first electro group to do an entire video release which matched the album continuously showing the drum clips, movie samples, and other sound source reveals...very insane if you can still find it.

      Jack produced a lot of the EBN stuff and contributed the music they used. He's got some claim to the concept.

      While I've been a follower of Jack and MBM for the past 25 years or so, to my recollection, I can't believe I've not seen this video before. The first thought that came to mind was that this looks like a "kissin' cousin" to any one of the Josh Pearson/EBN vids from back in the day. Both are equally impressive and talented artists.
