    • @Stuckntherut1
      @Stuckntherut1  6 лет назад +3

      Do you even read what you type? Doesn't matter if it is meat from nature or meat from the store, either way, something must die. Moose are a renewable resource, we hunt them to fill our freezer and they reproduce. Rather then spending $20 for only 1 lb of beef, why not fill the freezer with 700lbs of organic moose meat instead from an animal that lives in our back yard. Not everyone has the conveniences you do where a grocery store is around every corner. Humans are greedy? Humans are trying to survive just like every species on this planet. If your not Human, what are you?

    • @katakuriplays6687
      @katakuriplays6687 6 лет назад

      You have guns to hunt? Why not buy that with an equipment that can help you earn a living!? Yes we humans need to survive but do you think its still stone aged? Where humans must learn to hunt animals smh... Again humans are greedy, not all have the convinience like I do? Thats some lame excuse to earn a living and buy some beaf/pork/chicken lol.

    • @Stuckntherut1
      @Stuckntherut1  6 лет назад +2

      A gun is equipment, don't you get it? Is it greed to enjoy the fruits of labor? Is it greed to build a home with my hands for my family? Is it greed to want to plant my own garden? Is it greed to want to go out fishing with my family and fry the daily catch over a fire? Is it greed as a family to go hunting, to pack out several pounds of moose meat on our backs four to six miles so that we may fill our freezers for the winter? Is it greed to go pick berries, and store them in for the winter. Of course we have jobs, but why not use our natural resources. Why do you have such a problem with it? I don't want your life style, so boring and unfulfilling.

    • @tanagrenda2316
      @tanagrenda2316 6 лет назад +2

      EzEz EcEc wild game is tasty and it feeds us all year long! Not everyone has the luxury to buy chicken and beef pumped with hormones in a grocery store. We live in the bush and as such we live a subsistence lifestyle, and hunt to eat, something you may not understand yourself but that’s okay. Enjoy your store bought meats and we will hunt in peace

    What happens if you down a bull under 50in?

    • @tylerwiltse4503
      @tylerwiltse4503 6 лет назад

      It would be an illegal animal. The unit they are hunting in has requirements to make it a legal animal. Either four eye guards on one side or a minimum of 50 inches wide at its widest point.

    • @mikehoncho4472
      @mikehoncho4472 6 лет назад

      Tyler Wiltse right, but if you screw up and say you have bad luck and down one at 49in. Obviously it’s illegal but what happens?

    • @tylerwiltse4503
      @tylerwiltse4503 6 лет назад

      Alix Armendariz
      Well you might be lucky if your aloud to keep it. But generally speaking the animal would be confiscated and you might be fined, you could have your rifle taken. possibly all three. At the end of the day, you should know without a doubt that its legal before you shoot. Granted thats not always the case as these things happen fast and its not exact. But ive never heard of that being a means of getting out trouble if the animal was illegal. Those are the penalties for the lower 48. Id imagine its similar or more harsh in Alaska.

    • @mikehoncho4472
      @mikehoncho4472 6 лет назад +1

      Tyler Wiltse I absolutely agree on making 100% sure that it’s a legal animal before you down one. But that’s what I was thinking as far as repercussions if you screw up but didn’t know if it would be more harsh in the state of Alaska.

    • @tylerwiltse4503
      @tylerwiltse4503 6 лет назад

      Alix Armendariz
      I dont know if it would be. If never hunted there myself. I do know that their game department is more strict in some areas. one of which is meat retrieval. Down in the lower 48 the gutless method is popular, up there youd end with a huge fine. Im not saying they value their game more than the lower states but they definitely have more rules. So im strictly speculating that there penalties could be harsher.

    • @Stuckntherut1
      @Stuckntherut1  5 лет назад +2

      @@deputy2717 I know you mean well, but I still have some words of advise. Every region is different on what quality animals it produces. For this region, this is a very mature bull. Some moose in this area will only grow to 60inches and stop. Some other regions in Alaska, it is nearly impossible to find a 50inch bull moose. Then there is those certain regions that produce several 70 inch moose. That's like comparing elk in Arizona and elk in Idaho. Alaska is a big state.

    • @theoldhunter6072
      @theoldhunter6072 4 года назад

      @@deputy2717 18 years ago I killed a 50" moose in Maine, decent but not huge, outfitters were passing 50" bulls. Last October, my wife killed a 34" bull, 50" and bigger are scarce. Quality of the Maine moose is way down. Times and areas change. I thought her bull was a dandy. Damned fine shot too.

    I hate hearing hunters that are so antler focussed. This is my dream, but I'm all about the meat. Yes, antlers are cool, but you can't eat them. A trophy for me is that meat. This seems like a sport for the wealthy though, which I am not.

      You have to be antlered focused when the laws require you to

    Here in NH the moose population is very low due to extremely high tick counts, but seems to show signs of improvement. We had like 53 tags for the entire state, down from 5-700 in our hay day. Awesome video, love to see women hunting. My ex wouldn’t spend even a night in a tent.
    That’s why she’s my ex

      Fight Milk I live in southern NH, getting ready for rifle season in November. Year 3 of hunting for me. With you, hoping moose bounce back, I’ve also heard better news for the moose this coming year, hoping for the best! Take care! Good luck with any future hunts!

    As many animals you guys shoot a year what do you do with all the meat? Can't tell me two people eat two moose in a year plus the caribou and whatever else.

      Jake Yurian a big bull like this one will yield around 600 lbs of meat. We gave a lot to local friends in our area who are not as fortunate as we are. This last year we shot two caribou, a moose a goat and a sheep and enjoyed it all. We also shared that meat to people of our community and feeding 3 hungry kids makes the freezer go empty fairly quickly.

    HOW COME...RARELY does one see people with walking sticks when packing meat out... Please take no offence... I use one ALL THE TIME

      Thank you for your thoughts. We love walking sticks, but they are hard to use through alders and tundra. In our newer videos we will be posting, there will be a lot more walking sticks so stay tuned!!!

      We have killed a moose with a 30-06 before. 300 win mag could, but 338 just works much better on bigger animals like this one!

      @@jamesdyer1476 - in Sweden and Norway, they routinely kill moose with 6.5x55, and have been using that cartridge for moose since the early 20th century. Granted, their moose aren't as big as Alaska Yukon moose.
      Having said that, no way would I take a 6.5x55 on a DIY-type hunt (for protection from bears). If I had a guide backing me up with a 338 or 375, yes, I'd absolutely take my 6.5 Swede.
