TFS: Sheet Metal Brake Stand

- It's been pretty busy around here lately, but in order to keep up with demand and get everything all set up, we gotta get organized! The more organization you have, the better the work flow, the more energy you have to actually do something when you're not staring at a mess. Here is a quick project about building a sheet metal brake stand out of remnants and scraps that will hopefully spark an idea in your head to help you get organized as well.
If you like the camera work - drop a thumbs up or a shoutout to Alex. This is his first full length shoot with TFS as the new "camera guy".

NOTES: The brake doesn't actually weigh 800 pounds. That was my goof. I had a freight order show up totaling 800 pounds and that's what stuck in my head for whatever reason... Oh well. The brake weighs about 300 pounds.
Alex (the camera guy) is not offended. His retort to my "go away" is something I couldn't show because we run a clean channel here.
Cross-bracing ? It is well bolted to bottom of the machine (with washers :).
Love the pulse sound. Reminds me of a mini gun at full song!
Good stuff! Looking forward to the future sheet metal fabrication videos.
Awesome video. Just built a very similar one in my shop thanks to this and it turned out perfect.
I love the cam lock on that brake!
Way faster than thread down ones
11:00 did he say, sweet.Go away !!!!! ? 😂😂😂
jarcordova - are you a homosexual?
@@facesmasher4216 are you looking gay people for fun ? not me
Nice job, i love that pulsing mig!
Hi, love the channel! Would you mind sharing the dimensions and angles on the project?
Yes i would like them to please! I have the same break from east wood
@@thejoecookeexperience9236 Agree, angles and dimensions would be nice.
In future builds or an upgrade to this one, consider adding some channel spaced for a pallet jack or fork lift. For top heavy items like this, mounting it on wheels might not be the best idea.
That Mig pulse sounds like a chain saw lmao. Frickin badass though
Looks Great. I hardly ever work with sheet metal. I made a small bending brake years ago.
ya just gotta love stuff like this ;)
before it was over i was thinking casters, a shelf and some blue paint ;)
Loved it.
@11:00 not even a thank you, just a go away peasant 😂
lol i was thinking the same thing, he didn't even know the guys name!!
His name is Alex. He's my brother 🤣
lol your brother is gunna kick yo heinie!!
If I heard that burping sound from the pulse while I was welding I'd stop and go check my shorts. Maybe my socks too!
If you think about how long that sound lasted, I'd be checking the floor and grabbing a shovel to clean it up.
Hi, awesome information! I know someone else asked for the dimensions and angles. Can you provide them? Thanks!
Great video as usual! Can you do a video on how calculated your angles? Most of the videos on RUclips are in another language. Smh
it seems so easy :)
Now if you bent some round tubes around in an X and then curve down to the front to do the braces, you'd still have room for the shelf and it'd look pretty impressive...
That would be cool. Definitely not within my time frame, but maybe in the future.
Probably will need some more bracing to keep it from parallelogram-ing.
Oh.
He’s your brother!
Sorry I called you dink
I understand, I am like that to my brother too
Always look before you leap
Can you do a video on htp pro pulse?
What brand is that rod holder on the wall in the back?
ZTFab
Pulse mig sounding like a full auto glock 😱😱🤘🏾🤘🏾
Have plans available for the stand ??
Hah, the only thing that's going to help my shop is adding more shop to it.
I'm with you on that one!
You need a shop crane or hoist.
Jib crane would be the best bet.
Did you take Alex to the ER for a hernia haha. Holy cow that things heavy huh? I need a brake myself. Let me know how you like it.
Pulse always sounds like a really nasty Taco Bell fart. Looks a lot better than one though.
Dont hate on me but the eastwood mig 135 is a pretty good little machine for its price if anyones wondering
i actually recently bought an eastwood mig 175 and absolutely love it
What’s the point of bending something if you can just weld it? Considering how expensive the brakes are what’s the point?
Efficiency. It takes a lot less time to make a bend than it does to make a weld. Finish/reveal of a final part also changes efficiency as well as si.ple things like warpage and final processes to correct them. They all take more time to fix/finish/correct than bending it.
Because sheet metal
WARPAGE! SHRINKAGE! Its always better to use a bend when you can.. lots of long welds cost $$$
think of a paper. You can tape pieces of papers altogether, but it is always easy to just fold them to make a shape
I like your videos but your telling me the 2 of you lifted an 800lb machine?
Nope. that machine only weighs right under 300lbs..
Bv
Lol scrap pile..
20 welders in background
Sounds like a fly crossed between a wet fart!!
Not impressed on how you talk to people, dink!
Should almost unsubscribe now.
Would you apologize to that man on camera in front of everybody on RUclips?
chill out man, its youtube comedy...
