    This so nice. I am crocheting a basket for one of my daughters 40th bday & crocheting a bunch of bathroom items for her, like washcloths, face scrubies. Thanks again

    We do have the Yarn Bee brand at Hobby Lobby. I carry the scrubby that is nylon. Also carry a cotton scrubby and many many colors of I Love this cotton. It’s our Hobby Lobby brand. I Love all our brand yarn. I have been knitting and crocheting for 50+ years. I had a huge yarn collection and gave it all away.

    Hi Joanna. Thank you for your tutorial. It's interesting that you crocheted back & forth, rather than joined rounds. Is this just your personal preference or is there a reason for not doing joined rounds?
    I think it would be easier to make the hanging loop at the very beginning - set up the magic ring; chain 40; attach with a slip stitch back into the ring.....then single crochet the 20 stitches and continue with the rest of your pattern. This way, you don't have to "fight" your way into the middle at the end.

    Hi! Brilliant video, very easy to follow.
    I am wondering if these would be OK to wash in a machine every so often according to the yarn instructions as I would be worried about bacteria build up? Have you tried it? I am wondering if it keeps it's shape afterwards.
    Thanks! 😄

    • @CrochetwithJoanna
      @CrochetwithJoanna  7 лет назад

      All depends what type of yarn you want to use. But I think you can wash it in washing machine. On the label of ypur yarn you should have instructions

    I have a ton of left over Caron Simply Soft yarn. It is 100% acrylic. Do you think it would be okay to use for this project?

    I wanna make this But I don't understand how many rows you did in the beginning? Was it four rows?

    • @CrochetwithJoanna
      @CrochetwithJoanna  7 лет назад +1

      You are working in rounds. First round :20dc, second : 80dc, third: 320dc 4th: 1280dc

      Thank you, I did finish making one, but I won't be doing it again. It was so much pain on my wrist. I've had my wrist broken so I can't crochet really hard or tight things like this was. I am pleased with it so much. if I do this again it will be like 3 rows and 3double crochets in each stitch.

      +Angie. Carey this is only the sample so I used normal dk yarn, but for this project the best is any 100% cotton yarn

    Hi Joanna on another tutorial the lady says 100 percent cotton risks bacteria and mildew build up cuz of it hanging in the shower and length of time to dry, have you had any trouble using the cotton? I'm half way threw making a cotton one and ran into that tutorial and now am abit worried

    • @CrochetwithJoanna
      @CrochetwithJoanna  8 лет назад

      +Karen Alger I think the other yarn will the same. You have to put it in to dry place after bath ( radiator)

    • @angiel2045
      @angiel2045 8 лет назад +5

      I hadn't heard this risk but I'm going to keep it on mind. I think the simple solution, and why I wanted to crochet a cotton loofah anyway, is wash it regularly. I also read another place that a cotton-nylon blend is better since the nylon isn't as absorbent and allows the loofah to dry faster. However, I can't find a cotton-nylon worsted weight yarn. I'm sure other cotton blends would work too but they aren't as accessible as the 100% cotton. I'm sticking with the 100% cotton until a better alternative, that's still fairly cheap, comes along.

      I read that the Bernat Blanket yarn is good, as it is made of polyester and can be washed. If I can learn to make and gift any, I will have to let the folks know about drying them after use, if possible.

      Hobby lobby actually carries a new yarn that is specific for washing things it’s not the one by red heart that is called scrubby it is totally different it’s bee something I can’t remember the name but when I figure it out the next time we go to Hobby lobby I will post it on here hopefully maybe you have a hobby lobby nearby or you can purchase it online

      I would imagine you could but you would have to half everything since tule is so much thicker. I use it for crocheting dish scrubbies and have considered making loofah's with it as well.
