In the Vol 10 when he was apologizing to his Dad and Mom hit me when I first read it in the middle of the night. I woke up that morning and gave my mother a big hug. This was like almost 2yrs ago today. Also the infamous Lap scene with Subaru and Emilia hit me in the feelings harder than it should’ve.
My favorite moment is when Subaru finally admitted that he’d done nothing with his life and was basically useless. I loved it so much when he got all emotional and screamed that Rem was wrong about him. I love the catharsis of Subaru finally understanding all of his flaws and admitting them and I love how Rem constantly brought up the good things about him to help him come to terms with himself. I think my favorite moment is when he flat out said “YOUR WRONG!” To Rem’s assumptions and wouldn’t let her get the wrong idea about what he is. Then, after telling her what a reprehensible person he is she accepts him and now his goal is to be worthy of her respect. I think My eyes go watery somewhere in there.
I cried like 4 times in the anime (also I cry every time I watch episode 18 no exceptions) but when reading arc 4 I cried like 8 times. Also I'm almost finished reading arc 5 and I've already cried three times so far so don't worry my boy I'm a huge crybaby too.

Subaru see the potential timelines he left behind, Ferris and Juculius besides his corpse as Emilia finds them and breaks down (Episode 23), Betty and Ram seeing his body after he jumped of the cliff (Episode 7/8) and a few more. It is rough. PS: I read the light novel not the web novel, so maybe there was more.
Episode 18 was the only moment in the anime that made me cry. When Subaru and Rem were spilling their hearts out to eachother that shit hit me hard. Also the shit Subaru was spitting out made me feel personally attacked. Subaru is a VERY relateable character and remains one of my favorites.
I swear, I cried every other episode of this anime. The sound design and soundtrack as well as the series' aptitude for killing and torturing our beloved characters is incredible and heart breaking, even if we know that Subaru can just reset, it doesn't nullify the pain we experience as a proxy to our hero
I relate heavily to subarus struggles. But when garfiel started talking about how he was fine with being abandoned as long as his mom was happy made me sob. Having been abandoned by my mother when I was young at an orphanage hearing a character voice something I'd struggled so much with in my life just broke me.
(Arc 4 Spoilers) Honestly watching re: zero I didn't cry at all (But I did love it so much). But then I decided to read the light novel and I honestly sobbed at subaru's first trial where we get to meet his parents and learn his backstory. Something about that scene just felt so relatable. My heart broke when he realized he couldn't go back to his original world and his parents still don't know what happened to him
I really enjoyed all of Subaru's death's (I'm not a sadist I just enjoy the cinematography I SWEAR!) so none of them actually made me cry. Being anime specific, only heart wrenching scenes I had were the 'it was hard wasn't it?' scene you mentioned in the video and when Emilia rejected Subaru at the capital. The web novel was the thing that made me proper teary, the kiss of death with Emilia is one, choose me, out of the convenience store (I've basically memorised this chapter at this point) and just Subarui chapters in general (specifically when he was pretending to be the 'Natsuki Subaru')

So subaru didn't need to ask again as we reader's already know, and so when ram just out of nowhere was like you don't like rem and you never even asked about here whereabouts, and started attacking him, I had like a excuse me wtf moment where my opinions on ram changed abit even tho it wasn't ram fault either. For me reading the "Theresia Van Astrea" chapter from Arc 5 was the most emotional moment of my life. My eyes were wet while reading it but when in the end Wilhelm finally answered her long awaited question, I can't help but burst into tears. After reading it I literally cried for about an hour in my bed until I fell asleep. There were dried tears on my cheeks when I woke up. I am very thankful to Re:Zero for giving me such feeling. If I had to read 15 volumes just for only that feeling I would have even then read it.
I was on the verge of tears when Subaru tried explaining to Emilia what he’s been through to get the best outcome and he told her “All this time, I made every thing work out all right, haven’t I?! When your insignia was stolen, I saved you from an insane killer at the loot house! I risked my life! All because you’re important to me! At the Mansion too! Without me, things would’ve been a lot worse! All of it, all of it, all of it! ALL OF IT BECAUSE I WAS THERE! You should have a greater debt to me than you could ever repay!” but Emilia didn’t understand. You could really see Subaru trying to get his words out but is forced to keep his mouth shut by Satella making Emilia get kind angry at him which only made him suffer more.

I'm a huge Rem fanatic. Even after learning everything you had to teach, Rem is still #1 to me. The one scene I cried the most is Subaru hated himself, and then confession came along, Rem is too sweet, I sobbed a little more, it's the only time I ever relate to a character till that very moment on a small damn screen, and this is by far the first anime I ever cried
Basically episode 18, hearing Subaru list off all the reasons he hates himself and her countering with every reason she loved him, honestly I’ve never felt as reflected in a character than Subaru at that moment, about faking everything, about doing nothing of note in his life. And hearing Rem give him so much love, god I was on the verge of bawling

Possible spoiler below: Also, ever notice how Petelguese's eyes start tearing up when he rips apart Rem and says, "with your hand, you killed her?" As if he's remembering his own actions in his fight with Pandora and talking to himself? That caught me when I noticed. 👌🏼
Not going to lie, I teared up a bit at hearing your excitement for S2. I remember waking up to that announcement and screaming along with some friends.
I have to admit I have a hard time throughout the series. Like it feels really sad and heart-wrenching, but I managed to pull thru without shedding tears. But then, I failed and cried and sobs like a little boy at episode 15 in 2016. I have to stop watching for a while to gain enough strength to continue. The VA, the OST, the visual, blended so well, it broke my tear glands. The last time I cried like that was in 2012, watching Steins;Gate. Then episode where Wilhelm confessed his love to Theresia, I shed tears too, but tears of joy and admiration to that Badass Grandpa. I love this series!

I just cried so many times in this anime,lol. I cried when Subaru was angry at Rem for 'betraying' him,then I cried when Subaru and Rem had that adorable conversation after the mabeast arc and then I cried when Emilia was leaving Subaru and Subaru tried to say to her that he had a power but he couldn't and she left because she thought he doesn't want to tell her anything. Then I cried in EP 15 ending,then I cried at EP 17 then EP 18 then EP 23 then EP 25. Oh yes,I also cried during the lap pillow scene,and when rem said,"you can't lie to me" in EP 19 or 20. And then there is also the first time that I realized that ED1 has a really beautiful and heartbreaking moment regarding Subaru and Emilia.(If you don't know what I am talking about,check out the funimation uploaded Re:Zero ED 1 and watch it.You will understand what I meant.) It was such a small interaction but it was just so powerful and so perfectly timed with the music. Yeah,I cried a lot of times but there are two series that I have absolutely no problem crying to and those are Re:Zero and Oregairu. I adore these two to the absolute maximum. I do find that funny though as I have watched MUCH LONGER series like HxH,One Piece,Naruto that should technically have and do have more time to build their characters and while those did make me cry too,I never thought of them as greatly as these two. I guess betelgeuse was right in saying that time has nothing to do with one's faith. Edit:I didn't specify what made me cry in the EP 15,17,18,23 and 25 as I think it is pretty obvious but just in case, EP 15 ending EP 17 emilia's death EP 18 Rem angel EP 23 when Subaru says 'please' to Felix and Knight guy(idk why I suddenly don't remember his name,lol.) For season 1 the saddest moment for me wasn't at the end of ep 15 nor was it when Wilhelm confessed his love for Theresia it was definetily at the end of episode 23, when Emilia killed the last finger. I had hope that this was going to be the perfect loop, and that yes I knew he would die eventually but not until at least the next episode (keep in mind this was my first time watching re:zero) then Betelgeuse possesed Subaru, and the thing that made me cry wasn't his death itself but how much hesitation and sadness Felix and especially Julius had towards having to kill him, it shows you how much they actually believe, trust and feel aligned to Subaru and how much hes grown on them these past few episodes. And at the end when Emilia turned over too look at the forest when Subaru got killed, man, that didn't help at ALL.

Emilia's second trial was pretty sad . And man when Subaru lost his memories and had to experience return by death , it made me very uncomfortable. So the second trail is about facing the unknowable present. Subaru see the potential timelines he left behind, Ferris and Juculius besides his corpse as Emilia finds them and breaks down (Episode 23), Betty and Ram seeing his body after he jumped of the cliff (Episode 7/8) and a few more. It is rough.

Episode 18 was the only moment in the anime that made me cry. When Subaru and Rem were spilling their hearts out to eachother that shit hit me hard. Also the shit Subaru was spitting out made me feel personally attacked. Subaru is a VERY relateable character and remains one of my favorites.
I swear, I cried every other episode of this anime. The sound design and soundtrack as well as the series' aptitude for killing and torturing our beloved characters is incredible and heart breaking, even if we know that Subaru can just reset, it doesn't nullify the pain we experience as a proxy to our hero
I relate heavily to subarus struggles. But when garfiel started talking about how he was fine with being abandoned as long as his mom was happy made me sob. Having been abandoned by my mother when I was young at an orphanage hearing a character voice something I'd struggled so much with in my life just broke me.

Honestly watching re: zero I didn't cry at all (But I did love it so much). But then I decided to read the light novel and I honestly sobbed at subaru's first trial where we get to meet his parents and learn his backstory. Something about that scene just felt so relatable. My heart broke when he realized he couldn't go back to his original world and his parents still don't know what happened to him

I really enjoyed all of Subaru's death's (I'm not a sadist I just enjoy the cinematography I SWEAR!) so none of them actually made me cry. Being anime specific, only heart wrenching scenes I had were the 'it was hard wasn't it?' scene you mentioned in the video and when Emilia rejected Subaru at the capital.
The web novel was the thing that made me proper teary, the kiss of death with Emilia is one, choose me, out of the convenience store (I've basically memorised this chapter at this point) and just Subarui chapters in general (specifically when he was pretending to be the 'Natsuki Subaru')

Bruh. Ok I when I was reading arc 4 and the chapters where Subaru left Emilia and she went kind of crazy and the following chapters of him facing the second trial really broke my heart, like for a solid hour I was crying.
I did once. Arc 6 when they decide to take the right side and ram blames subaru for not showing enough love to rem as they go mad with the witch miasma, at that moment I was like f*ck..... It isn't subaru's fault

@@Echidnut yh it was pretty bad, and since this was the second try choosing a side in the first life first thing he did was ask where rem was and was genuinely freaking out. So subaru didn't need to ask again as we reader's already know, and so when ram just out of nowhere was like you don't like rem and you never even asked about here whereabouts, and started attacking him, I had like a excuse me wtf moment where my opinions on ram changed abit even tho it wasn't ram fault either. Abit like emilia season 1 of the anime ere we as watchers know what is going on but emilia doesn't and because of the way she acts, she became less likeable

For me reading the "Theresia Van Astrea" chapter from Arc 5 was the most emotional moment of my life. My eyes were wet while reading it but when in the end Wilhelm finally answered her long awaited question, I can't help but burst into tears. After reading it I literally cried for about an hour in my bed until I fell asleep. There were dried tears on my cheeks when I woke up. I am very thankful to Re:Zero for giving me such feeling. If I had to read 15 volumes just for only that feeling I would have even then read it.
I was on the verge of tears when Subaru tried explaining to Emilia what he’s been through to get the best outcome and he told her “All this time, I made every thing work out all right, haven’t I?! When your insignia was stolen, I saved you from an insane killer at the loot house! I risked my life! All because you’re important to me! At the Mansion too! Without me, things would’ve been a lot worse! All of it, all of it, all of it! ALL OF IT BECAUSE I WAS THERE! You should have a greater debt to me than you could ever repay!” but Emilia didn’t understand. You could really see Subaru trying to get his words out but is forced to keep his mouth shut by Satella making Emilia get kind angry at him which only made him suffer more.
I cried during episode 18. Not because of Rem's love for Subaru, but because of Subaru's self reflecting and self loathing.
I really share the same emotions man and I am so happy because there's someone out there like me. I swear if I could read chapter 6 right now the I would do. But unfortunately I need to study hard otherwise I will fail a year in the uni.

I have a few: 1) from near the end of the mabeast fight to when subaru cheers up rem in the mansion and she smiles and cry altogheter 2)rems confession(basically from the rems hero part) 3)rems death 4) choose me part (arc4) - the last one is very powerful, and it surprise me that the emotional content is on the same level of rems confession

That's actually the reason why Re Zero is my favourite story. It was the very first thing that made me cry. Not while watching anime tho, but at the time I read light novel. This one scene. First death of Rem and fight between Roswaal/Ram and Beatrice/Emilia. On that moment I've remembered soundtrack this scene had - Fantasy Lied and it just got me crying. For the first time because of fictional work.

i cried hardcore after he died the first time, when rem was forgotten, when subaru tried so hard to save everyone and was relieved by emilia, when subaru was in a ton of pain and suffering and even when I remember that subaru suffers not being able to speak of his returns.
The first anime I ever cried too.. Already cried 4 times watching it. Let’s appreciate how Subaru never gives up while the amount of stuff he had to go through.

The first time I cried was when Rem was killing Subaru and Subaru started to have a mental breakdown. The second time I cried was episode 15 and my tears were literally on my phone.
I'm a huge Rem fanatic. Even after learning everything you had to teach, Rem is still #1 to me. The episode where Rem voluntarily takes care of a traumatized Subaru left me in the corner of my room crying. Basically, everything Rem has done spoke to me on a mental level past any other character I can think of.

Basically episode 18, hearing Subaru list off all the reasons he hates himself and her countering with every reason she loved him, honestly I’ve never felt as reflected in a character than Subaru at that moment, about faking everything, about doing nothing of note in his life. And hearing Rem give him so much love, god I was on the verge of bawling
Bruh...episode 15.... nuff said. I still listen to the song Requiem of Silence from time to time. The most emotional parts somehow always were relatable in some way to me.

Oh, I read Arc 4 but I never noticed that foreshadowing of that scene until now.
Not going to lie, I teared up a bit at hearing your excitement for S2. I remember waking up to that announcement and screaming along with some friends.
I have to admit I have a hard time throughout the series. Like it feels really sad and heart-wrenching, but I managed to pull thru without shedding tears.
But then, I failed and cried and sobs like a little boy at episode 15 in 2016. I have to stop watching for a while to gain enough strength to continue. The VA, the OST, the visual, blended so well, it broke my tear glands.
The last time I cried like that was in 2012, watching Steins;Gate.
Then episode where Wilhelm confessed his love to Theresia, I shed tears too, but tears of joy and admiration to that Badass Grandpa.

Episode 15 made me cry for 20 minutes. Maybe because of these emotions I remember Re:zero so good and feel strong connection to this Anime
For me it was when emilia did the lap pillow, when rem played twister, when rem confessed, when wilhem says he loves theresia, when subaru says bye to his parents, when subaru tells echidna about return by death, when garfiel is comforted by mimi after seeing his mom.
I cried many times when watching re:zero (I think I cried way more than you though (like during rem's confession and when Julius kills Subaru with Felix due to Betelgeuse/Petelgeuse, there were many other times too)). Also when that trailer came out a year ago I was in shock that it finally got announced.

I cried when Subaru was angry at Rem for 'betraying' him,then I cried when Subaru and Rem had that adorable conversation after the mabeast arc and then I cried when Emilia was leaving Subaru and Subaru tried to say to her that he had a power but he couldn't and she left because she thought he doesn't want to tell her anything.
Then I cried in EP 15 ending,then I cried at EP 17 then EP 18 then EP 23 then EP 25.
Oh yes,I also cried during the lap pillow scene,and when rem said,"you can't lie to me" in EP 19 or 20.
And then there is also the first time that I realized that ED1 has a really beautiful and heartbreaking moment regarding Subaru and Emilia.(If you don't know what I am talking about,check out the funimation uploaded Re:Zero ED 1 and watch it.You will understand what I meant.)
It was such a small interaction but it was just so powerful and so perfectly timed with the music.
Yeah,I cried a lot of times but there are two series that I have absolutely no problem crying to and those are Re:Zero and Oregairu.
I adore these two to the absolute maximum.
I do find that funny though as I have watched MUCH LONGER series like HxH,One Piece,Naruto that should technically have and do have more time to build their characters and while those did make me cry too,I never thought of them as greatly as these two.
I guess betelgeuse was right in saying that time has nothing to do with one's faith.

For season 1 the saddest moment for me wasn't at the end of ep 15 nor was it when Wilhelm confessed his love for Theresia it was definetily at the end of episode 23, when Emilia killed the last finger. I had hope that this was going to be the perfect loop, and that yes I knew he would die eventually but not until at least the next episode (keep in mind this was my first time watching re:zero) then Betelgeuse possesed Subaru, and the thing that made me cry wasn't his death itself but how much hesitation and sadness Felix and especially Julius had towards having to kill him, it shows you how much they actually believe, trust and feel aligned to Subaru and how much hes grown on them these past few episodes. And at the end when Emilia turned over too look at the forest when Subaru got killed, man, that didn't help at ALL.
I cried in Episode 23, when Julius and Felix were hesitating to kill Subaru right after he had been taken control of by Petelgeuse
