This is the best narration of the scriptures I’ve ever heard. It’s clear and The King James Version of the Bible is what I study. Old English is not hard to comprehend, when it is probably narrated. When I read the scripture, I can intertwine this narration and the words I’m reading. My comprehension is improved by just simply listening to Alexander Scourby, reading the Holy Bible.

Totally agree. I couldn't hear one more day of the US political gloatings over violence & sad attacks on our blessed old folks or people with strokes or those ethically unhinged. It all just puts me in penitence, like deforestation & climate change do, & the hardness of our stoney hearts while claiming to be God's favorites. I thought "I'm in Ecclesiastes mode, & am unlikely to leave it again in this life." So blessedly, here is that beloved old best reading voice & the beautiful KJV. This book of the Bible says everything i feel right now, & is enough "news" for me at this fraught election year time, though i do vote (& not for gloating mocking brutal gangsters). And i do, in gratitude & duty to God,grow wildlife habitat, & am protecting a forest watershed for wiser generations to come. These are not wise times but, as The Preacher says here, Vanity. A mention about Paul and his prison Epistles of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon, that were some of the most liberating concepts imaginable. Ephesians is famous for its spiritual warfare passage, but what exactly did Paul picture as the greatest of all battles? Philippians is a letter of instruction, providing models to follow. In it we will find Paul, Jesus, Timothy and Epaphroditus offered as those whom we should seek to copy. Colossians is an enigma one needs to play detective trying to recover the clues of what Paul was likely confronting. Finally, Philemon is gigantic in its implications contrary to its miniature word length. Time spent with these letters will be richly rewarded and equip us for life in multiple dimensions; of spiritual, personal and corporate relationships confronted daily. Specifically, these four letters from captivity will release any of us from unconscious imprisoning ideas. Both Paul and Peter were executed by NERO in that prison around 65 AD. Peter wrote 2 Timothy and Philippians from that prison. This amazing book in the bible represents the notion that history and nature move in cycles, so that all events are predictable and unchangeable, and life, without the sun, has no meaning or purpose: the wise man and the man who does not study wisdom will both die and be forgotten: man should be reverent (i.e., fear God), but in this life it is best to simply enjoy God's gifts.

The word Apocrypha simply means "Hidden. The Apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible at the end of the Old Testament and positioned between the Old and New Testament. It also contained maps and genealogies. The apocrypha was a part of the King James Bible for 274 years until being removed in the year 1885. It's not certain why the apocrypha was taken out of the king James Bible in 1885. Some conjecture, and it was taken out by the printers, who wanted to save some money on the publishing of the King James Bible. The truth is the original 1611 King James Version contained the Deuterocanonical books. Just as these books the Protestants call the "Apocrypha" Books were in Martin Luther's Translation and all of the Earlier Protestant English Translations of the Bible which Predated the 1611 KJV. This should not come as a surprise when one considers that right inside the front cover the KJV says That it was: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is TRUTH: John 17:17. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in TRUTH. John 4:24 When he, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all TRUTH. Whenever l read and listen to the book of Ecclesiastes l always remember of my unborn child ...but unfortunately l had a miscarriage..l was expecting it a lot and yet am finding it difficult to forget am in pain .. because Leviticus says that all the days of man are full of sorrows and to everything there is a season ..a time to live to and a time to die....and a time to cry and a time to be happy and yet l find it difficult to let go the loss of my baby and the chances of getting pregnant again are almost 0percent

We all need help from above. I am a Christian.. I was raised under the truth.. I know I am a sinner who needs forgiveness and yet I can't find the way to repentance 😢 I want more than anything to be able to repent and beg forgiveness for my sins but for some reason I have not been able to get there. It's hard living knowing I am not converted and I have no answers just to keep asking Almighty God to help 🙏🏻please give me the the freedom to repent 😊

he ads make this practically impossible to listen to when I’m at work doing construction, I’m not always within reach of my phone so I end up listening to some ad for three or four minutes. Every five minutes for a three or four minute ad? Ridiculous, how much does this cost to put up on RUclips? I would be willing to contribute to you if you disclose your costs. My dear friend, the actual word in the Hebrew is Koheleth, which means “one who addresses the assembly.” This can apply to either a teacher, or a preacher, even though I still prefer the old King James Version rendering of “preacher.” Even though I have not always lived as I should have (for the Lord), I fell in love with this book in my college years (1984-1988), and was born again on March 28, 1994. This is the best narration of the scriptures I’ve ever heard. It’s clear and The King James Version of the Bible is what I study. Old English is not hard to comprehend, when it is probably narrated. When I read the scripture, I can intertwine this narration and the words I’m reading. My comprehension is improved by just simply listening to Alexander Scourby, reading the Holy Bible.

Totally agree. I couldn't hear one more day of the US political gloatings over violence & sad attacks on our blessed old folks or people with strokes or those ethically unhinged. It all just puts me in penitence, like deforestation & climate change do, & the hardness of our stoney hearts while claiming to be God's favorites. I thought "I'm in Ecclesiastes mode, & am unlikely to leave it again in this life."

This book of the Bible says everything i feel right now, & is enough "news" for me at this fraught election year time, though i do vote (& not for gloating mocking brutal gangsters). And i do, in gratitude & duty to God,grow wildlife habitat, & am protecting a forest watershed for wiser generations to come. These are not wise times but, as The Preacher says here, Vanity. A mention about Paul and his prison Epistles of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon, that were some of the most liberating concepts imaginable. Ephesians is famous for its spiritual warfare passage, but what exactly did Paul picture as the greatest of all battles? Philippians is a letter of instruction, providing models to follow. In it we will find Paul, Jesus, Timothy and Epaphroditus offered as those whom we should seek to copy. Colossians is an enigma one needs to play detective trying to recover the clues of what Paul was likely confronting. Finally, Philemon is gigantic in its implications contrary to its miniature word length. Time spent with these letters will be richly rewarded and equip us for life in multiple dimensions; of spiritual, personal and corporate relationships confronted daily. Specifically, these four letters from captivity will release any of us from unconscious imprisoning ideas. Here is a documentary video called in the Footsteps of Paul, shot on location in ROME, with a visit to The Mamertine Prison, which is now a museum. Both Paul and Peter were executed by NERO in that prison around 65 AD. Peter wrote 2 Timothy and Philippians from that prison. This amazing book in the bible represents the notion that history and nature move in cycles, so that all events are predictable and unchangeable, and life, without the sun, has no meaning or purpose: the wise man and the man who does not study wisdom will both die and be forgotten: man should be reverent (i.e., fear God), but in this life it is best to simply enjoy God's gifts.

NEW: Alexander Scourby reads the Apocrypha. Some have been critical of its publishing and those who are, can continue to hear the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation read by Alexander Scourby.
Historical Apocrypha facts. The word Apocrypha simply means "Hidden. The Apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible at the end of the Old Testament and positioned between the Old and New Testament. It also contained maps and genealogies. The apocrypha was a part of the King James Bible for 274 years until being removed in the year 1885.
It's not certain why the apocrypha was taken out of the king James Bible in 1885. Some conjecture, and it was taken out by the printers, who wanted to save some money on the publishing of the King James Bible.
The truth is the original 1611 King James Version contained the Deuterocanonical books. Just as these books the Protestants call the "Apocrypha" Books were in Martin Luther's Translation and all of the Earlier Protestant English Translations of the Bible which Predated the 1611 KJV. This should not come as a surprise when one considers that right inside the front cover the KJV says That it was:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is TRUTH: John 17:17.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in TRUTH. John 4:24
When he, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all TRUTH. John 16:13

Frankly, we think the four most Important books in the King, James Bible are the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These represent the new testament Covenant, which God sent his son Jesus Christ to establish between God the Father and his people. Whenever l read and listen to the book of Ecclesiastes l always remember of my unborn child ...but unfortunately l had a miscarriage..l was expecting it a lot and yet am finding it difficult to forget am in pain .. because Leviticus says that all the days of man are full of sorrows and to everything there is a season ..a time to live to and a time to die....and a time to cry and a time to be happy and yet l find it difficult to let go the loss of my baby and the chances of getting pregnant again are almost 0percent

Regarding your comment. For sure what you went throught has to be very difficult to deal with. Remember this, you are a child of God and ask your Father to help you deal with the cross you are carrying. Also keep this Bible verse from Jesus in mind from verse Matthew 6:34; Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Take it day by day take care of those things in that day and especially take care of yourself. Look in the mirror and tell that person you see that you are a child of God and are a good person. Ask God to help you and give you peace. Be mindful to be kind to others you come in contact with, a thank you and smile goes a long way. The joy of love and acts of kindness helps greatly in healing the heart. Let me share this with you that I just read last week:

Before she died she wrote her own 1045 word obituary for the paper, in that Obit, she said this, I was born, I blinked and it was over. Historical Apocrypha FACTS: The word APOCRYPHA means "Hidden. The Apocrypha is a selection of books published in the original 1611 King James Bible for 274 years, and was placed at the end of the Old Testament with the New Testament following. Then in 1885, for reasons unknown, they were removed. So we are putting them back for those who want to read the missing Books of the APOCRYPHA. It's not certain why the APOCRYPHA was taken out of the 1611 King James Bible in 1885. Some conjecture, and it was taken out by the printers, who wanted to save money on publishing the King James Bible.

We all need help from above. I am a Christian.. I was raised under the truth.. I know I am a sinner who needs forgiveness and yet I can't find the way to repentance 😢 I want more than anything to be able to repent and beg forgiveness for my sins but for some reason I have not been able to get there. Why do I get ads while I listen?
he ads make this practically impossible to listen to when I’m at work doing construction, I’m not always within reach of my phone so I end up listening to some ad for three or four minutes. Every five minutes for a three or four minute ad? Ridiculous, how much does this cost to put up on RUclips? I would be willing to contribute to you if you disclose your costs. Otherwise I’ll start my own channel and post it for free cuz I can’t listen to this anymore.

My dear friend, the actual word in the Hebrew is Koheleth, which means “one who addresses the assembly.” This can apply to either a teacher, or a preacher, even though I still prefer the old King James Version rendering of “preacher.” Even though I have not always lived as I should have (for the Lord), I fell in love with this book in my college years (1984-1988), and was born again on March 28, 1994.
