@@SD_Alias oh no, these are definitely post war fashions: The hat was at it's apex before it shrunk down to a pill box, and the shaps are just prior the the explosion of the Dior New Look shape. This has a lot of heavy, dowdy looks that belie the period: the late 40's held onto the over extra detailing that was popular because of fabric shortages and details made up for lack of nice materials.
What a difference between modern fashion shows, and ones from the past. At least those dresses look like something a normal person would wear. Modern ones look like silly Halloween costumes that are priced beyond reason and look stupid to boot.
Lol who wears elaborate tight bodice and evening gowns every day? The women covering the event is the every day clothes. I can only imagine your other carping negative comments
@@kittycats2827 Not carping really. I just despise modern art and fashion. They're more rants than camping to be honest. I write huge novels of rants outlining my absolute disdain for "modern art" mainly because the current crop of artists use no imagination in their wirk, and requ ire the viewer to use thier imagination to guess what they made. To me the "art" looks like something created by a toddler on a sugar rush, and so called critics gushed over their creativity. I could make that installation myself. See. More of an incoherent rant than anything.
But these weren't the same. These were so that the people watching could decide which one they liked and then have it made for themselves, using their personal measurements. Makes a lot more sense than today's runway shows. I don't quite get what the point is of those
Perhaps instead of focusing so much energy on what you hate you could spend the time to learn about and generally appreciating the things you DO like- I assume you would appreciate renaissance or baroque art (as I do)- yours and other peoples time and energy's would be much better served. No one listens to a random rant on the internet- you just look unhinged and people immediately disregard what you are saying. Or are you lacking any real love or passion for anything outside of what you dislike? @@Dsdcain
I remember how beautifully all four of my grandparents dressed. Especially both grandmothers. I never saw them in pants or dress slacks. Today it’s hoody’s and gym wear.

I like to think of it as sparing men, "who have to foot the bill" for fashion.
