This is the first time I've come across your channel & as a NZ'er I knew I had to sub. Palmerston North is my home town & so I know the area. My partner loves trains, he dreams of driving them but he's happy enough just to look @ any old trains especially if an old whistling Steam Engine rolls up @ the PNth. Railway Station. TY.
Thanks Geof for the trip , I use to be in loco back in the 50' to the 61 in Wanganui we use to trip down to Palmy on a Saturday morning and bring back 610 to New Plymouth with a K or Ka Great days really miss the old steam Days they were great .Thank you for bring back those great trips missed the trip from Bonny glen -Terrice End down the drag to Palmerston North .
That was fantastic Geoff. Bought back so many great memories. I grew up on Railway Rd - near the Roberts Line intersection. Hardly recognize the area now..
That was interesting. saw a couple of bits of railway infrastructure that I'd thought existed but wasn't certain. Mind you I've paxed along that bit of track a few times - probably searching for the bottom of my glass to pay too much attention outside. Bit of an ooopps at the end there too - ran the Bunnythorpe stop twice.
@@fredthompson4568 It must be one of the passenger trains as it is very quiet. I love the sound and smell of the diesel engines. The freight trains sit outside my house on the double line near the station in Palmerston North. My dad was a Driver most of his life. Started in Cross Creek in the 40’s. Thanks for trip!
Gosh Scott Gray, I have no idea who you are, but any nazi comparisons you speak of would be freedom of speech, and surely be in response to our governments ludicrous response to Covid and draconian pointless responses, this is as insane as the " war on drugs" we cant even keep drugs out of a single prison, so the "war to keep covid out", futile,, we are the laughing stock of the whole world, and I ll repeat, in the days before I got my second forced vaxing I felt Like I was in nazi germany in ww2, refused service everywhere, sneaking up fire ladders into hotels my friends booked for me..... the vaxing issue has torn our family apart for good, its torn the whole country apart. .....
Go make yourself a cup of tea Scott. There are ppl out there with Myo because They were forced to get vacc for work(Ppl at lower risk from Covid but higher risk of adverse reactions). Let alone all those with lesser affects. Affects are MASSIVELY unreported and underreported.

Awesome thanks, a great video to view. It's been a very long time since I traveled on that line, maybe 55 years ago.

Geoff - are you a train driver or know someone who is and is willing to take your camera in the cab?
No Keith, I am just a train enthusiast with mates in Kiwirail.
And what sort of Locomotive are they using ? .
Gosh Geoff, no invoking nazi comparisons in your video today? You've grown. I'm glad.
