@@Best-Synthetic-Oilscom the hell you say. I have one of those pumps, not sure when I got it, have never used it until when I wanted to the other day. I have no container with it but screwed a plastic quart oil bottle to it and tried pulling oil out of a bottle of good oil to see if pump would work. The empty bottle sucked in & clasped and it did not suck any oil out of the half full bottle of clean oil. Any ideas? Thanks !!
@@Best-Synthetic-Oilscom where can I get info on this pump/ And especially on that industrial equipment fitting ? I did find a 'sample' bottle & got the pump to work. If you hear any info on certain GM engines using oil and/or stalling out with a VT actuator, solenoid showing code # p1101 or something, I forget, let me know. Thanks. I have heard that it is oil related. GM refuses to acknowledge, or rather fix/recall but there is a law suit.
No dipstick does make it more difficult to obtain a clean oil sample. I was able to use this suction gun to obtain an oil sample from a BMW without a diptick by removing the oil filter housing top and sucking the oil out of that filter housing reservoir. Taking a sample from the drain plug is the worst location as the crud that settles to the bottom of the pan will skew your results. If drain plug is only option, let old oil drain for a few seconds before taking the sample.
You have to be able to tighten the brass nut around the plastic hose to seal the pump to the hose. You also have to make sure the plastic sample bottle is screwed tightly to the pump. Either of these can cause leaks - no sucky!
@@Best-Synthetic-Oilscom I removed the large black seal ring inside and it worked. It just would not seal against the plastic oil container. It sealed with some oil and just using the container bare against the pump's plastic. I think they need a better o-ring design.
What is the black rubber plug at the end of the pump for ??
It is used on special oil access fitting on industrial equipment.

How do you clean the pump?
I just use warm soapy dish water and then rinse in clean water.
My Porsche Cayman does not have a dipstick. Can I still use this?

How much do these cost in price?
About $25-30, depending on how you buy.
I have the pump without the fitting on it. I cannot get it to pump anything but air to save my life.
