  • The Triangle Bug is a great surface pattern for panfish and bluegill. It can be tied in a variety of colors, with Green or Yellow being some of the most popular. The Triangle Bug sits in the surface of the water and is best fished with a small twitch. The legs are essential to this fly and are what gives the pattern its “life”. Easy and quick to tie, which makes is a great bluegill fly. But do not be surprised is a decent sized largemouth gobbles it down too!

Bart (the creator of this fly) is a great guy, not trying to steal customers but I recommend supporting his business! Panfish on the fly

I love the quick and simple flies. Mostly, when I fly fish, I'm catching bluegills, with the occasional crappie and tiny bass. (Only Trout around me are stocked in 2 ponds, and it early spring, due to water temps.) I enjoy catching ANYTHING on a fly, and I think I may try targeting perch (yellow and white) and pickerel and his coming Spring!

Would this work as a dragonfly nymph migrating to the shore/out of the water at night?

i guess, but honestly I don't think flies like this really immitate anything in particular and I don't the fish really care, to them it's just needs to look like something edible

These work like a bass magnet - I find that they land upside down sometimes, any suggestions?

You could always try adding a little bit of lead tape on the inside belly. You can get it at a lot of lure crafting stores.
