A better way to attach the hook is take your bodkin (the pointy thing you used for the legs) and push it thru the foam from head to tail. Then take a match or lighter and heat the a tip area then pull the bodkin back thru the foam and it will burn hole in the foam. To attach the hook use some scrap feather and tie it on the hook to make your hook bigger and give the foam something to glue to then tie your thread off - put some glue on and push the foam onto the glue. Works for the legs to. Your tail might be a little to long. Good job - buy a cheap bungee cord and cut the ends off - split the fabric, inside is enough leg material for months of tying.

What size hook?
Size 4 to 6 but it all depends on what size fish you are targeting
