For anyone who makes the "the colours aren't realistic" complaint, I have one question; how do you know? These colours are based on REAL reptiles. So if reptiles are coloured this way now, why couldn't they have been back then?
i love the colors on these guys but they are definitely not realistic, of course fossils dont preserve colors but they where big animals and they had predators so a more dull color for camouflage and maybe a little color on the frills because of sexual selection
Colors based on small reptiles. If you look at big animals they do not look so bright, especially herbivores, which are usually prey animals. Color wise I would look at big herbivores as an example, like rhino, elephant, buffalo. As far as big reptiles look at the biggest land reptiles like Komodo dragons and giant tortoises for colors.
Well that's a pretty decently dumb statement and even though I don't want to bring any hate I love the series and colours it's important to mention how they're not realistic IN SOME ASPECTS AND SOME FIGURES. No animal of such a size on planet earth has such neon colours because it simply wouldn't exactly last that much this way making it such a spot on prey. It's important to consider lifestyle aswell and nonetheless size.

I had no idea that these existed. I had no idea there was a "dino community" but I now need these IMMEDIATELY and want a membership to the club.

@@JustinDavidTalks The raptors are sold individually like the ceratopsians AFAIK. I imagine this is due to expense, since they're actually about as large as the ceratopsians too - they're at 1:6 scale whilst this new line is 1:18.

They're awesome figures, you notice instantly that they're made by an experienced sculptor
I dig the psychedelic paint jobs on these guys. In a group, they almost look like the crowd at a Grateful Dead show. Minus the drugs, body odor, and bad dancing.

The iguanadon is my favorite because of the dinosaur film that came out in 2000. Loved the color schemes on the figures.

It's hard to believe she collects this stuff. Most classic, and retro toy reviewers are male, and older. But if she is for real I'm subbing.
And Laura is classy, not like another female RUclips toy collector, who is from Florida, that I could mention. I mean Laura talks about "tongue action" but I don't think she is about to create an Only Fans site...
I heard you gotta put it in hot water first to loosen the joints a bit, because apparently some people have experienced joint snaps from tightness.
But anyway I’m loving this series and I’m glad David Silva has done this for us, this is very special, and also I am happy that his kickstarters were successful. I’ll certainly crowdfund the tyrannosaurs (if that is a kickstarter) just so we can see more in the future. I’d love a line of hadrosaurs and ornithopods, and maybe stegosaurs, etc.
I heard he plans to do dragons as well which is SICK! We don’t have many articulated Dragon figures either and for me that would be a hella treat!
I believe there will indeed be a Kickstarter campaign for both the upcoming tyrannosauroid series and the subsequent articulated dragon line.
I'll also comment on the articulation: initially the joints were somewhat stiff, as you say. Certain joints moreso than others, but I was careful and avoided pushing them too far to prevent snapping. Decided to heat all of them with a hairdryer for about 10-20 seconds each (as is advised for the tail). That worked well, gave just enough leeway to get them moving and loosen the joints up somewhat. The range of articulation since then has been fantastic; can get the animal into a number of poses it certainly wouldn't be able to achieve in life haha

Really inspiring to hear about the sculptor guy David Silva that used to work for McFarlane toys and now Neca that created his own line of dino figures...it gives me ideas 🤔😏 they look really good.

Triceratops, all time fav. I like the colour schemes. It reminds me of the fantastical colours that dinos were when I was young (70ies ish) no one really had an idea so artists went with whatever they felt.

Well Raptor is a universal word these days. I would debate that not all dinos had feathers, especially Dinonichyus.

I really like the styracosaurus, it's one of my favorite dinosaurs, although the colors are a little too flamboyant to me! But that's just my take on it. The articulation on these guys is fantastic! JP / JW toys should have all that articulation in my opinion, awesome review, Laura!
