I'd rather staple my nutsack to a fighter jet and watch it take off then ever play this again. Stay tuned for the full MW3 review in a week or so and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Hot take: Vanguard's campaign is better simply due to the fact we get some diverse locations, no bullshit open combat missions, and no armoured enemies that take ages to kill.
@@fanatical6903 but also, most of Vanguard’s campaign takes place in flashbacks. Japanese soldiers had STG-44s.. and the main playable crew wasn’t even likable, in the least. At least I like the crew in mw3, even though this year’s campaign was eh
@@Gen_ShadowCompany_203 God that was so cool the SAS discovering the bombs, then the French's GIGN and German Army supporting DF while fighting for their lives, all the while the 141 travel in Africa until Prague's infilitration, what a campaign, MW2 to BO2 was really the best CoD campaign will ever have it seems
Ghost was the last COD game I've ever played and I looked forward to playing it too with how incredible BO1 was. At the end of the Ghost campaign, I've asked "that was it?". Blizzard and Activision should really cease to exist right now.
In COD 4, Price beat and choked a man and then killed him once he learned Zakhaev was the boss. In COD 2019 he used the butchers family as leverage and was willing to kill his son. In MW3 he won’t let Soap kill Makaroov after he killed thousands of innocent people, but then kills Shepard out of revenge. Call of Duty: We don’t have consistency but we do have Nicki Minaj.
Boy, you got my heartbeat runnin' away Beating like a drum and it's coming your way Can't you hear that Boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass? He got that super bass Boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass Yeah that's that super bass
Exactly. Also the fact that Makarov is not dead by the end of this game proves this is a cash grab and nothing more. If it were trying to be even remotely similar to the OGs this game would be the end of it.
Especially when in MW2019 his whole character is someone willing to go maybe even too far to protect others and get the job done. The whole back and fourth with Gaz on whats too far and what isnt in that game was really good. MW2019 Price would have let Soap paint the inside of that black hawk red.
@@Deagnetic yep, I remember Price saying "We draw the line where we need to", Price would do anything to stop the bad guys and protect innocents. The game gave you the impression that he threw morals out of the window a while ago, be it throwing a civilian with a suicide vest off a balcony to save others, or shooting at a civilian because they would have reached a detonantor.
Got a friend who blondly simps for COD every year no matter how bad it is. His defence for this one was "nobody plays the game for the story anyway so who cares if irs bad?" Then says the mp is the best in years but never has anything positive to say about it when hes playing it lol. This is the reason these devs are able to fuck shit up so bad so consistently
i stopped playing cod after black ops 1. so basicly i checked out of cod 13 almoat 14 years ago. i don't understand how people can continue to play the same game series for like 20 years straight and not die of bordom...
Your “friend” is part of the problem, those kind of people keep on blindly eating the same shit these triple A devs have been puking out. Standards have been fked because of them, best to just cut off ties with your friend.
Apparently so since they have nothing to go off of good thing I didn't buy it stopped at black ops 4 and that's where I'm stayin fuck wwll fuck infinite warfare will not come within hair's of touching those titles
Just wait for Modern Warfare IV where you try to stop Makarov from getting all the Infinity Missiles before he launches them and you have to wait for Modern Warfare V where there’s a crossover with zombies in which you use the Voodoo-Aether Time Machine 69000 to go back in time and stop him.
Then the time machine has a malfunction and Cpt. Price from WWII travels to future, meets modern Price and asks him 'are we in some kind of Modern Warfare".
Probably should stop following Cod around and maybe play something you like. As I don't go on Fortnite or any game for that matter I don't like an hate on it.
Don't forget, Soap was BEHIND him and somehow missed a clear knife to the head and that dude just shrugged off a knife in the upper neck area and pops him in the head.... soap deserves better than to die to a "hacker"
Don't worry, I'm sure in MWIV you won't be able to kill anyone because Activision will want to use everyone as operator skins so they will all have plot armor.
In the first two games the stakes and consequences felt so low to me because there were no major characters dying, and now when they finally decide to have the balls to do just that, they do it in the most anticlimactic and emotionless way possible
The characters dying wasn’t really the thing that raised the stakes for me, but the fact that I knew what the motivations were, and how scary they were. Like I knew that Makarov wanted to start WW3. It this trilogy I have zero clue what motivations are.
Introducing our new live service plan for Call of Duty. Every week is a new chapter, and all previous chapters are always available for download. Ta-da!
There's another funny thing about the campaign that Bricky(RUclipsr) pointed out, when Price was calling Laswell to evac or something because 2 missiles launched, from Price POV you can see the missiles just took off right? Like it's still there, but when we cut to Laswell's perspective when she received the message, the missiles somehow already landed at her area despite the fact that on Price POV it just launched, and that's fucking hilarious.
It feels like they killed Soap just because he died in the 3rd game. Not remembering why it was so impactful. The tragedy of Price being the last og member, Soaps final words were likely of warning Price in case Yuri was a traitor. The music, the moment of silence. And Price's fury, demanding how Makarov knows Yuri. This game has had me relook at the og Mw3 and see there was more of an attempt of decent, to now good because the bar has lowered so low.
As someone who completly missed this reboot MW series, i dont even know whats going on here, i tought they just filled in the void between the episodes or something but wtf they completly changed the stroy, its like personaly insulting my childhood.
God, remember the death of Soap in the original MW3? SO impactful, SO iconic to the franchise and the characters around him. In this game he just gets shot in the head, and Price just has an "oh... f*ck" look on his face.
Hmm looks like my other comment basically saying that neoliberals do not care about stopping criminals in the act but do like pre-emptive striking in all kinds of ways was removed faster than a YT comment with a link in it
Price, Ghost and Kyle tossing Soap's ashes into the wind while standing at the edge of a cliffside sounds like a prompt I would plug into an AI image generator
For me the worst part is that it didn't make me cringe at all, in fact, it didn't make me feel anything, I felt complete apathy towards anything happening in it. I remember back in the day spending maybe 30 mins a day searching for info on MW2 when it was coming out, and then the same for MW3, and not just the multiplayer, but also the story. And now it's just, who cares.
They've somehow lost their ability to hook the player into the story. Just look at black ops. You wake up in a chair and right away the character starts asking the questions we also have: "Who are you? Where am I? The fuck do you want from me?!". This one just starts with you shooting people. The only question you have is "Is there a story here?".
“How do we get these people into the story of our shooty game?” “Have them start of shooting?” “Genius. No characters, no names, no background. Just shooty. Saves on the budget for the story team.”
Shephard betrayal, Price calling Makarov for help "enemy of my enemy is...", Soap removing knife from his chest to throw it at Shephard. So many great moments i still remember after i played it 12 years ago
I know right? Makarov was a 10/10 villain! Someone you feared, despised, and actually respected as a villain. His speeches, his actions, even his motives
@@petrspetsnaz630 oh definitely. I’m even working on a General Shepherd cosplay because he’s just such a badass villain. Up until his betrayal I even though he was just an awesome general. His speeches made me patriotic and I’m not even an American!
@cjilagan3216 "You the main character?" "No" "Well you sound like one." What's more hilarious to me is that the person he's saying that to is middle eastern, it sounds racist as hell 😂
I don’t know why they decided to give Ghost an actual custom made mask instead of just a balaclava. I feel like any guy doing that in real life would be relentlessly teased by everyone in his unit.
Idk how it is in other countries but where I’m from that wouldn’t even be allowed, anything that isn’t issued to you in service is gonna get confiscated asap, standing out / wearing something that could be used against you (the mask looks like it has some hard parts that could be broken and that could also cause injury ig?) has to be out of the way.
@@allanorme2093 I’ve heard of face paint but yeah that as well, I don’t really understand why he would do that. Makeup gets super runny when wet or anything really so that’s a good point
When soap died, my reaction wasn't awe, shock, or anything. It was laughter, i didn't think this game could go any lower, but then it didn't just bring a shovel, it brought a freaking excavator.
@@charleswinters9567I'm going to just go ahead and say anything after the original mw3 isn't canon. Nobody that worked on those games worked on these games anyway so...
@@TKOfromJohnThey're reboots, so they were never canon to the original trilogy in the first place. Thank Christ for that... MW3 somehow managed to get lower than Vanguard.
@@demonslayer5122 I love how at the time of Ghost, everyone thought Cod hit rock bottom (that was just after prime Cod era with the original MW and Black Ops 1 and 2 after all) but they like to prove us wrong, Ghost is getting better and better just because new entries take his place as the worst one making it feel no that bad overall, at least someone gave a fuck about Ghost enough to try writing a decent story and actual maps
It's funny watching The Act Man's slow realization of how bad this truly is. "Graves is back? I thought we killed him." "No no it's not about finding the missiles again? I already did that. They wouldn't shut up about it." "So are they just re-using Warzone maps for these levels?"
I remember the first open world mission (the harbor) and being like "oh this is an interesting twist" and then they reused it again the next mission later and I was like "I just payed money for a shitty rip-off of a Sniper Elite mission." The laziness of this game is just insulting.
Nah man, the original MW3 was really, really good. You only say it was mid because the true, original MW2 is the best COD ever made. Of course anything that came after that would be a downgrade. They haven't made a better COD game since the original MW3 too@@TheDankestSand
The original trilogy was an awesome story, writing, and presentation. Especially when you consider the time. These last 3 games bring so much shame to the trilogy name......the whole studio needs to perform a seppuku
True, MW 2019, like original MW, tried to be realistic and show the realities and consequences of War, while MW 2 and MWII tried to go for more of a Hollywoodish feel and they were considered better than what came before and then MW3 and MWIII came out and they were considered the lesser of their respective trilogies and were disliked or controversial..
The fact that Makarov constantly failed and never put a huge dent in the world like he did in the original is disappointing. Like even when he pulled off a blown-up plane, his objective to frame Farah and her forces as villains is foiled and it means nothing.
I like that they brought back Alex and Graves basically in Warzone promotional cutscenes and then just acted like no further explanation would be needed in the next campaign. Which to be fair they were kind of right because it completely went over my head that Alex was supposed to be dead until somebody else pointed it out
When I started to watch a Let's Play of this campaign (I stopped after 2 episodes and didn't return because sleeping is more exciting than watching this warzone singleplayer) and Alex was just standing there I was actually about to be gaslit by the game and thought "wait, maybe it wasn't Alex who died? Or did they show him survive in the previous game?" but then there was Graves, who I definitely remember being in the exploding tank, and who is now just casually talking to Farah and that's when it clicked: The devs (cue GoT meme voice:) "just kind of forgot about continuity and writing"
The worst type of stories are those that take something good that's already established and ruin it. Vanguard was bad, but it didn't damage or destroy established titles. This and Soaps death did huge damage to what was build up to be a decent trilogy overall.
Soap's death in OG MW3 was emotional and impactful. I do believe Barry Sloane, who plays Price, could have shown that emotional depth as an actor in this new version of MW3. Hope to see something more from CoD in the future and we get a return to form with the writing in these games
This is really sad. The first rebooted MW had so much promise. Interesting mission design, focused plot, real stakes, good music, and could've worked as a setup to something amazing. Instead, the whole rebooted MW trilogy just boils down to gas, missiles, and Sheperd shitting (MW2: "When we shit, we bury it" MW3: "Does a polar bear shit in snow?". That's literally it.
Actually its sucks from the beginning, all of the rebooted series is cringy SJW bullshit , I’m not surprised at all that cod developers reached this level of sickness
they make each game so much worse, and mw 2 had a chance of redeeming modern cod after the disgrace called vanguard. ofc ACTIVISION fumbled this after rushing this production which should have been a $30 DLC at most.
I honestly feel like the moment that made me begin doubting the direction the reboots were going in was when they brought back Alex in warzone. From there it not only established outside things like Warzone being needed to understand the main campaign storyline but that major characters can be brought back to life no mattee how contrived or unnecessary. Then 2022 comes and it doesn’t really follow up any plot lines from the first game and it’s just “where’s the missiles!?” With a plot that has some contrivances like letting the terrorist dude escape. The most redeeming part of that game for me was the gameplay being a bit out there for COD and nice dynamics between the characters. Then the raids happen and kill Hadir when he was set up in the first game to be a villain moving forward along with bringing back Graves. Now we’re in MW3 and we have a villain who has hardly been set up at all and pales in comparison to the original and the death of an underutilized character because “Well Soap died in the original MW3 so he has to die here”. So much promise in the first game and now it’s just an action blockbuster series that pales in comparison to the originals in many many ways.
@@alsharef1COD MW3 is definitely SJW woke bullshit. The first game at least attempted to revive the series with more realism and grittiness than ever, until each proceeding game got worse in how they approached the tone of this series. MWII tried to mix the original and new games together and was somewhat successful in that case, but then this shit flat out ruins everything we liked from the first two so it can set up more garbage and even more woke sequels.
The stadium mission was so embarrassing because the civilians acted so emotionless. Idk how they could had managed that, look at 2019 when you feel and see and hear the fear the npcs had in Piccadilly, hometown, and the embassy
even Embassy had that, there were stakes, this game is supposed to be the biggest sense of danger, but the effects are so minimal and for some reason always thwarted by the main leads that it started to annoy me a lot. Also those "No Russian" missions, i wish they would let us play as the terrorist and should've been at the start of the campaign, not at the middle of the story cause it makes it so messy and scattershot
I'll do you one better, No Russian on the OG MW2. The civilians were either running away, bleeding to death or trying to save someone else. That was from a 14 year old game and had more immersion than this dog shit dlc
They could write this mission, as the Counter Terrorist team had not known who the terrorists were exactly, so they shot everybody on sight with respective consequences at the end of the mission, where Makarov blames Price and CT team for unnecessary civilian casualties. Assuming the capture of Makarov, escort of Makarov and destruction of the airport at the end of the mission stay.
@@Slawa_Saporogez I actually love this idea for the mission, you should had been the writer for MW3. The stadium mission reminded me of Piccadilly because it was a terrorist attack but it was such a downgrade

The difference between the reaction to Soaps death in the original MW3 and the new MW3 is like night and day. In the original, you could really feel how hurt Price was. In this game, Soap just kinda dies, and that's it.
end of original MW2: intense battle between Price and Shepard, finished with a throwing knife to the eye from Soap, ends with both of them dying in a desert until Nikolai saves the day end of new MW3: Shepard says he won't beg for his life in after credit scene, Price says it won't matter, *bang*. credits roll. I'm 99% sure that all the old Call of Duty developers have left, the studios have forgotten how to make games, and that the ones in charge of writing were the kids from the multiplayer lobbies back then
I mean Price and Soap weren't close but I feel like if you pay more attention to Ghosts reaction since him and soap were close he was hurt the most there
Soap's death in MW3 (2011): *Very dramatic, with Price getting emotional and desperate, while being clearly traumatized by his death* Soap's death in MW3 (2023): "One KIA". Oh, I guess he died🤷♂️
It really upset me when I fucking first saw that like they killed my boy with no honor like if you’re gonna kill off a main character like that, make it a better moment, make him go out in a blaze of glory. Remember, when Dom sacrificed himself in gears it was a hell of a moment.
How did we go from "we will be taking our time with the next cod to make it as good as possible" to "here's this rushed and glorified DLC that has the shortest development of any cod ever"?
There's a super secret mid-credits cutscene that activates once you beat the game on Veteran, deathless, and in under 2 hours. Ghost, but from the future, takes Soap's ashes and uses them to reconstruct Soap with cybernetics, paving the way for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.
I asked ChatGPT to ‘write me a follow-up plot and script to MW2 2022 featuring the return of Makarov’, and I shit you not, within 3 seconds it generated this game’s plot word for word lmfao

@@shirokatatsu5886yes I mean the OG trilogy. Classic Mak knew who he was, what he wanted, what he was about and willing to do for it. He had the look, eyes, mannerisms and voice of a real killer which made him believable, spoke and behaved methodically and with intent, was cunning and deviously clever enough that almost everything he did succeeds, his very smile told you shit was gonna go down in a moment, and that entrapping the team in Prague to bring soaps death moment made him excell as an iconic villain which made his proper end all the more satisfying. This Nu-Mak has no real definitive goal, not even as a successor to Zakaev (nowhere even mentioned in '23 version), has poor looking character design, speaks emotingly and behaves erratically, snides and sneers as a cheap amateur taunt, gets caught and fails in a 'plan' not well thought out which is very unlike him, then gets spared upon capture which is so unlike price, then just dropping in out of nowhere at the end and pops soap from behind without a single teammate doing overwatch is just pathetic because the circumstances is so pointless and unbelievable. Its so low impact that there's practically no stakes here to make any character death meaningful. When i was growing up in the 90's, being a teen in the 2000's who loved video games. I legit thought the future of gaming was going to be utterly amazing. It's not about graphics. It's increased gameplay mechanics, physics effects, damage effects, environment interaction options, engaging AI to play against in single player against CPU bots in offline modes, or good AI in the games campaign. It's just crazy how many current video games focus on graphical nitpicking and don't put any effort into any of the other things that make games that even have quirky graphics but make it so awesome due to creative art style, gameplay style, gameplay modes, the list goes on.. idk what happened?
It's the gamers. Honestly, one of the worst communities out there. The amount of entitlement gamers have is fucking insane. Especially with regards to release dates. On top of that the split personalities of them, which is at Peek hights in the CoD community. But like you said, there are a lot of games that are unique and worth to play.
@@omegacxv8344 Are you high? Gamers now have literally no standards whatsoever. Entitlement my ass, gamers have become the most pathetic consumers imaginable.
Remember when Soap died in MW3 and it sparked arguably the single most important part of the campaign, where Yuri reveals to Price how he'd been working with Makarov and how he was behind almost all of the major incidents in the previous games? Remember when Soap died in this MW3 by stubbing his toe on a subway handrail and they just threw his ashes off a cliff? I'm only slightly exaggerating the events, but I'm dead on accurate for how much impact it had on anything.
the fact Actor Male even tried to compare this campaign to Ghosts is a travesty. Even with all the flaws Ghosts had, atleast it was mostly coherent and so much fun to play.....and had MUSIC
2009: two entire missions are dedicated to hunting down and killing Shepherd and ends with a badass knife throw removed from your chest. 2023: *lame cutscene*
Man, the way they killed Soap off was just plain disrespectful. He literally just gets into a little scuffle with Makarov and was unceremoniously shot in the head. Compare that to his death in the OG MW3 where he saves Yuri from an explosion, we desperately carry him to safety while being shot at, and have an emotional moment with Price before he eventually dies. His death in this game is so hollow and unemotional, it reeks of them doing it purely for shock value. I swear, they probably got to that point in the story and realized literally NOTHING had happened, and figured they could just cheaply kill off a main character to try and justify this campaign even existing. Also, instead of Price just killing Sheperd in a cutscene, I think it would have been a WAY better twist to reveal that Sheperd was working with Makarov the whole time, setting them both up as the main villains of the next game. Or, at the very least, let us actually get to kill Sheperd, instead of just watching Price do it. After a bit more thought, what makes Soap’s death so, SO much worse, is that he EASILY could have killed Makarov. As Makarov is about to shoot Price, Soap quite literally has the jump on him. But, instead of stabbing him in the neck, or in the head, or slitting his throat, he stabs Makarov in the shoulder? What kind of garbage ass writing is that? Also, I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like Soap still had his sidearm, so he could have just shot Makarov as well. Soap is a highly trained special forces soldier, but he went for the least efficient attack when he had the jump on an enemy.
Price reacting to his death to. In the original he starts flailing his arms at Soap's chest while screaming "No, no, no!", almost like he's trying to bring him back. Nikolai has to pull him back into the real world. Here he's just like: "Call it in" and that's that.
Tbf that's how Gaz died in CoD4. It shows you how easy it is to snuff out a life in war like you've been doing to dozens of men in the campaign, or something like that idk. The sudden unceremonious nature makes it blunt.
@RochRich. Even Gaz had a better death in 4. He was knocked down, dazzed, not knowing what was happening and still tried to put of a fight. Soap stabbed the dude, then let himself get man handled with no push back like a marvel film.
@@RochRich.Bruh, I fucking despise this stupid copium logic. It’s a main character death in a video game, not real life. The characters should say something, literally anything at all, when one of their comrades is killed by what is essentially their nemesis. Like, we didn’t need some overly dramatic scene, but just SOMETHING, other than the utter nothing burger we got. And even if they wanted to do a blunt, quick death, they executed it in the most piss poor way possible. And Gaz from CoD 4 is such a poor example. He was a glorified background character in that game, no one cared when he died because you knew nothing about him and he wasn’t fleshed out at all.
Didnt the people on the plane see Samara trying to disarm the terrorist with the gun, and defending them? And suddenly she turns up after being dragged away, dressed in a bombsuit... This also makes very little sense i think
I'm suprised of how you didn't notice that Alex (who technically died in MW1) came back because Activision did a cinematic for Warzone about him. So now he's in MW3 just like Graves... amazing.
I hate how they had so many major plot points happen in warzone events, so a few years down the line you have no way to know why Alex is alive or Shadow is good again besides looking it up online
I think the big difference with Ghosts and Vanguard is that their levels were actually, y'know, _levels?_ and not just their one damn Multiplayer map cut up into bite-sized chunks and haphazardly made into 'levels'
my biggest issue with the No Russian in the newest campaign is that it hardly feels impactful in any way. like comparing it to the 2009 version, in the original mw2, that airport scene had MAJOR implications to the rest of the story. But in the newest one, the thing kind of happens and the next mission, you basically clean it all up and its kinda just over. like i was hoping for something more major to happen so i can have something to remember. just my opinion tbh
I feel like it would be more impactful if the US, which actually have citizens on the plane, would completely withdraw support for Urkzistan and actually assist Russia with invading the whole country. TF141 would be considered traitors for aiding and abetting a known terrorist group so they are on their own while Laswell has to face prison or works completely in the shadow
Original No Russian: Slaughter hundreds of people and play right into the villain’s hand of causing WW3 which impacts the rest of the story of the second game and the third game. New No Russian: Just a callback to the originals with little effort into making it distinct and unique.
The fact that Bricky said that Makarov looks a lot like Ben Shapiro and the sister character for Makarov also looks like Ben Shapiro's sister is hilarious and honestly I can't unsee it now.
To this day mw 2019 is still better than every game after it and a decent amount before it, I don’t understand how they completely fumbled everything after that amazing start
The writers for the 2019 reboot, who wrote for Naughty Dog on the Uncharted games and The Last of Us 1, left about mid-way through the development of MWII to join another studio. IW wound up rewriting the campaign into a more generic action shooter as a result.

@VioIetteMolotov it's best to leave og bo2 and mw2 alone, Activision will just ruin the identity those games had back then and turn it into a cash grab super operator simulator.
Soap's death was some bullshit... Makarov literally walked around the corner, and won a 2 v 1 against military trained hardened soldiers... by the way, what was ghost and kaz doing?? That whole confrotation with price, makarov and soap took a minute or two, plenty of time for them to show up and do something
He appeared just to kill soap, that was his purpose in that mission. It's hilarious if you watch the livestream VOD because it looks like Makarov comes in, kills soap, then gets hit by the train.
The longer I think about Soap's death here, the angrier I get. Soap's death was so impactful to me, it was one of the first times I felt so emotional over a character death in a video game. This though, is an insult to OG MW3 in almost every conceivable way. I was hesitant to buy it before, but this just sealed it. Fuck this game, and fuck Activision.

It’s so fun and gives people what they’ve been asking for. The multiplayer doesn’t feel rushed in any way. Like yes, a lot of stuff is reused. But if this was a 50$ dlc for mw2, then no one would care. Instead it’s 70$ on its own. And the zombies is actually surprisingly fun as fuck too, with only more zombies stuff to be added each season. @@ImWithMeAs someone who has both, it's very obvious you didn't play MW2, like 90% of all the assets, weapons, and maps are jhst copy and pasted. It was supposed to be something akin to maybe a 20 dollar dlc, but no they shipped this out as a whopping 70 base price tag, more if you get deluxe editions. It's utterly disgraceful that they tried to petal this game off when they knew that fans were hyped for the next game because of how relatively well recieved MW2 was. I don't doubt you think it's good because MW2 was great and all this game did was give us an extremely overpriced dlc
So this was originally planned as dlc, but had a completely different campaign. The original plan was for sledgehammer to have 16 months to make a dlc with a campaign focusing on a side story in Mexico, at some point in development Activision decided that the game and campaign had to be direct sequels, which forced sledgehammer to scrap what they already had and start fresh on an already rushed timeline. On top of this a lot of the context required for the story comes from the seasonal event cutscenes for mw2, which is really fucking stupid (and the plot of those is even dumber honestly, but that's not as bad because it's just used to setup things to do instead of an interesting plot)
So, it was originally DLC, but they decided to turn it into a $70 "game" (calling this a game is an insult to actually good games). They couldn't stop pumping out new CoDs every year, but can delay seasonal updates for a battle royal? Unbelievable, but seeing this is Activision we're talking here, I'm not surprised.
@@LuanNguyen-uk5gw while it is exceedingly stupid, it's not exactly behind a paywall, it's behind a cutscene that plays on game launch (and therefore available on RUclips). That being said a lot more of the required context was in DMZ missions and the mw3 reveal event, meaning to get the whole story you needed to play a bunch of unrelated shit in a mode they are seemingly getting rid of. Honestly this whole game is a disgrace and it's depressing that Activision likely won't change due to it still being a success financially

And even if they wanted to do a blunt, quick death, they executed it in the most piss poor way possible.

my biggest issue with the No Russian in the newest campaign is that it hardly feels impactful in any way. like comparing it to the 2009 version, in the original mw2, that airport scene had MAJOR implications to the rest of the story.

So this was originally planned as dlc, but had a completely different campaign.
