When the number one message children and teens are hearing from their teachers is that their GENDER, especially if it's different than the one they were born with, is their most important virtue, not doing well in school or being a good person, something has seriously gone off the rails . SOMETHING must be done to get us back to sanity!

Based on what? The fact that .001% of the population has some gender dysphoria type mental illness going on and people aren't trying to like burn them at the stake for it? It's a fringe marginal issue that has no play beyond being a foil for imagination of simpletons and small minded bigots like yourself. Whats next snowflake, you gonna freakout about starbucks new christmas cups? Ya need some warm milk for your triggered little fee fee's sweetie?
Your plugged into a media ecosystem that's using scientifically engineered methods of emotionally engaging you for the purposes of social control. You're too stupid to understand it much less notice it. To someone that's a neutral third party standing on the sideline looking in from the outside, you seem deranged and have totally lost touch with reality. Yeah just like trans boogymen of your nightmares. I'd question if you're not a closeted homo. You know how much most normal think about trans bs? Zero. Get a life.

We let progressivism get out of hand and ignored the wisdom of tradition, and this is the result we have to deal with now. If we can work together to isolate the radical left, to separate them and their influence in the eyes of the vast majority of society we can overcome them over time. Unfortunately so much damage has been done, and the machinery of information control holds so much power that it will require an immense cultural shift to push back. A really great analysis! I do see one minor/major problem, though: to build the counterculture on old knowledge. As we all know, knowledge isn‘t knowledge anymore, it‘s being redefined, rewritten and renterpreted before our very eyes, in real time. A woman isn‘t a woman anymore, the term “sexual preference” became offensive before Amy Coney Barrett‘s hearing was over, gays owe their rights to black trams women at the Stonewall riot, and so on.
Many of us still know what‘s true and what isn‘t. Many of us have collected books with that old knowledge. The problem is that all new information, recently printed books, Wikipedia and other internet “sources”, are full of the new knowledge. And unfortunately, that‘s where most young people get their information from.

As we began forming families we headed for the country, where we could "do our thing," in relative freedom from "Big Brother!" Now, here we are 50+ years, and what we had thought would happen then - is upon us, with a Vengeance! In 1972, I had a close encounter of the God kind, and through the intervening years, after coming to realize that it was Jesus who was "calling" me, "out of darkness into His marvelous Light!" (1st Peter 2:9), I would have been dead, I deserved to be dead, a long time ago! By His gracious Aloha, He has brought me to a point in my life where the reality of a righteous Government, the government of the Kingdom of God, I know, is a reality - and is now in the process of destroying this satanically inspired American/Vatican Global Civilization, through the revelation of His prophetic Word in Daniel chapter 2, particularly verses 34-35, and 44-45, where it describes the Stone Mountain Kingdom's triumph over this satanically inspired American/Vatican Global Civilization! Hale-lujah!.
To those with ears to "hear!" To His Last Generation-Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, Rejoice! For your Redeemer is almost here! Warning! apart from Jesus Christ, THERE IS NO HOPE out of this mess!

I've been thinking about culture creation for some time now. It struck me years ago how so many jokes and images would percolate outside the leftist controlled platforms and then proceed to spread all over. I also noticed how many musicians and artists who claimed to be anti-established were so quick to lick the boot. I found it so odd that punk subculture was entirely non-existent in a true and pure sense. Over time I've honed my views to a finer point, at the end of the day if anything is to change or supplant the status quo then things have to be created. I've taken that to heart by stepping back a few decades or centuries and learning formal philosophical frameworks particularly around Aesthetics, largely avoiding post modernism and ideas of subjective beauty and truth. Hopefully I can add to this new cultural effort through my photography, writing or designs. It probably won't have as big an impact as a good band would have or what I director might be able to create but I feel if this is going to happen an entire culture must be put forth. Not just videos and commentaries, but all the tiny pieces of culture that combine to make the fabric of our lives.

What I like to see, desperately:
Movies, newspapers, prizes, contentcreators, schools, etc, that is NOT explicitly right or left wing, but just is. Why. Most people are not explicitly left or right wing. Most people have views, opinions etc that sometimes are conservative(ish) and sometimes progressive(ish). Also, most people tend to be more or less liberal, whether they tend to be more on the right or more on the left.
    It's not that complicated.

Well done. Community and relationship (rooted in values) are antidotes to the deliberate isolation and atomization of the individual. This isolation disempowers the people and perpetuates technocratic, corporatist domination.
From my perspective relationships should be with other people but also the more-than-human world. (As in the back-to-the-land movement encouraging authentic relating with land, animals, plants, water, sun, air.)
Thanks for synthesizing these various streams into a hopeful message.

It's better to try to be outside of the left/right thinking. This makes you more agile with your opnions so you can change your mind more easily if you find out that you are on the wrong side of the argument.

If there’s an emerging counterculture, you’d have to look to people like Thomas Sheridan, Sarah Jo Mondaini, Christian Morris to find it. They’re looking at today’s world from an esoteric, Fortean and hauntological , as well as a Jungian perspective. It’s coming from a place that transcends politics.
Given that the classical education is rooted in classical paganism, you’d probably find that it’s going to fit into the current resurgence of paganism.

I have a feeling that the new conservative right, especially faith-based, will take care of itself and be fine. The moderate left is bewildered by what's going on, but if it sticks to mushy social democratic approaches that's probably not pernicious. The real gap is the center. I thought I was kind of leftish, brought up with a foundation of liberalism, in the tradition of Hume, Locke, and Adam Smith, and the Stoics. This almost entails an approach to truth and fact which privileges science, veracity and falsifiability a la Karl Popper. Apparently these views are right-ish nowadays. A re-centering to build a liberal defense of governance, democracy, markets, civic order, and a healthy society almost by default is one that provides a more right-leaning opportunity to pursue its aims, and create a much broader coalition, including those on the left who may be turned off by echoes of the Moral Majority or other instances of political evangelical activism. Not everyone has to like each other, sure. But the best way to gift the far left and its cultish pursuit of thought reform is to have fracture across the rest of the spectrum. A coalition would need to set some priorities, but not squandering resources would be a good start. Better to work on local public institutions, judiciary, investigate community counseling and rehabilitation programs, schools, resource and land use, and potentially higher ed and professional bodies (although I've just seen Chris's latest on universities so might keep some powder dry for that).

Oh so the right still has no coherent worldview. I typed a whole thing out & realized your position was too much of a mess to attempt a redraft.
In short: We are living in the most free market time ever. Cost of living increased, wages stagnated, and no policies (like the child tax credit or guaranteed paid parental leave) to offset the cost of have kids.
Then you mentioned some nonsense about values. The range of values people can practice is always constrained by material reality. Sure, community, family, and a higher purpose serving others sounds great. No one is going to be practicing those values if they can't afford to.
Then you mentioned even more nonsense regarding whatever nonsense the left is talking about (it all boils down to the economic system remaining the same and C-Suites looking like a diverse clothing magazine cover)
In short, there is no "conservative counter culture" because that counter culture supports a continuation of economic policies that produced the current culture aka you are arguing against the results while endorsing the causes

    • @arongilbert5828

You are so wrong. The current system works but not when criminals are running the show. Anything created can be used for good or bad. The left is using it for bad. Just a few years ago everything was OK when Trump was pres. Nothing will ever be perfect, but anything is better than the left who continue to prove they are criminals hell bent on power.

Its would be a dream come true to have more creativity in the conservative world.
I've always been conservative financially and in most ways, but the music & art of mainstream sickens me.
I know it sort of goes against the psychological leanings of ordered, more conservative ways, but it does exist
    in some.
On the other hand, the hippy, or uber left elitism and phony hip culture is as equally sickening as in your face redneck conservatism.
The world is changing & I couldn't be more ready for it.
Something I''ve never understood is how the left doesn't recognize that the best art and the best music happens during conservative times.
It was always more exciting to find interesting people, art & music during those times.
When everything is wild & over the top liberal; there's no inspiration.

Hey Chris, I would direct you to read, The Closing of the American mind, by Alan Bloom. In it, he lays bear the lie of the supposed cultural stagnation and superficiality of the 1950s. The affluence of the 1950s led Americans to expand their understanding and appreciation of music, the arts, the sciences, and literature on a scale never seen before. This was evident in the rise of attendance at classical music venues, the theater and the arts, book [and especially encyclopedia.] purchases, and hobbies. The leftist lie, propagated first by Galbraith’s, The Affluent Society, and later by the new left, and repeated now, as if it were fact, was anything but.
