I have begun to think that, in my retirement years, I might offer my services as an English teacher in a private and/or religious school. I left teaching after just five years, back in 1993, when I became discouraged by changes in public education. I enjoyed listening to this encouraging message.
I’ve lived my entire life in the counter culture and over 40 years watch it drift from a liberal to a conservative thing. I’ve not changed, yet found myself voting trump.
Just wow! What an incredibly clear thinker. And what an optimistic and dynamic message. I’m just discovering this fellows work and as somebody who is now politically homeless - former left-leaning person - this is fertile terrain. I shall be following this channel as I reorient my life going forward. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your work.
It’s very difficult to remain optimistic given how effectively the radical left has manipulated the willfully ignorant masses… The prevalence of untreated mental illness is also a very important piece of the puzzle.
You hit the nail square on the head by saying "willfully ignorant masses." This dynamic has got to change and we can only do this by educating and making aware to those around us. They need to be educated about the severe threat which domination of information dissemination poses.
I love this topic. Thanks for broaching it. Lifelong liberal here, currently being re-educated. And as I do, I am connecting with ideas I had originally as a younger person - conservative ideas that I hadn't remembered. Just wow.
The Catholic Church, like any other church, is not immune from this ideological infiltration. In fact you should be very careful because religious institutions were actually some of the first to be infected. Some of the "heroes" of this infiltration have Liberation Theology as part of their communist recipe for destruction of the west.
@@happycampers7889 - It depends on the school. Our local diocesan (vs private) Catholic school is fantastic. Parents do need to ask direct questions, "How do you handle Gender identity?"
Beware. There's a Catholic HS in Florida that was sued by the parents of a girl because of what happened to her w/o the parents knowledge. Schools no longer have hordes of nuns but lay people who may or may not be Catholic and teach the faith. Parish schools are probably okay, but other "Catholic" schools may be no more Catholic than Georgetown University. Our kid is in a parish school and it is okay. I love that they start and end the school day with prayer and go to mass once a week.
Mr Rugo, I doubt that you are old enough to remember Quiet Riot. They were a big hair band from the 80s. Everything you said in this broadcast was quite ironic, having grown up in the 70s and 80s. I never thought I would be considered conservative, but today I guess I am. Funny how the goal posts move!
The way I look at it, progressivism without conservatism to balance it out quickly turns in degeneracy, and that's what we have today. We let progressivism get out of hand and ignored the wisdom of tradition, and this is the result we have to deal with now. Progressivism seems to be in general very self destructive without a compass or foundation. They want to tear everything down and yet they have no clue what to replace it with.
We have an opportunity, if not a necessity, to have a coalition of right, left, and center, against the far left. If we can work together to isolate the radical left, to separate them and their influence in the eyes of the vast majority of society we can overcome them over time. Unfortunately so much damage has been done, and the machinery of information control holds so much power that it will require an immense cultural shift to push back. This shift is happening, and growing, and the question is will it be enough and will we have enough time.
Well said. The domination of information dissemination by the Left is VERY CONCERNING to me. Educating and awareness of this MAJOR THREAT to our Constitutional Democracy is KEY. The Common people need to see the Corporate Progressive News Networks as nothing more than 'lying' disinformation squawk boxes for Progressive Elites.
that's a good strategy. It's the best way to get people on the middle to your side by showing that you represent the entire political spectrum (minus the extremes) and the woke represent the far left extreme. Also important to get minorities and LGBT who are anti-woke on your side, because they certainly exist and will help educate people that not only "straight white males" are against radical left wing woke ideology.
God Bless you Chris. I am thankful for your voice in the public square. Thank you for holding back the radical destructive cultural line and upholding a conservative ideology that is genuinely life giving. I pray for your spiritual protection. You are a gift for highlighting this cultural reformation.

Christopher: is it possible to get a list of the K-12 schools built on the classical model? I am a retired teacher who believes in what you discussed. I would like to offer my time to help in one of them. I am unfortunately in California where I fear very few of these schools will be found. I do not believe it is just as simple as going to a Catholic school and assuming they are dedicated to what you describe. Thanks for your devotion to conservative ideas.
A really great analysis! I do see one minor/major problem, though: to build the counterculture on old knowledge. As we all know, knowledge isn‘t knowledge anymore, it‘s being redefined, rewritten and renterpreted before our very eyes, in real time. A woman isn‘t a woman anymore, the term “sexual preference” became offensive before Amy Coney Barrett‘s hearing was over, gays owe their rights to black trams women at the Stonewall riot, and so on. Many of us still know what‘s true and what isn‘t. Many of us have collected books with that old knowledge. The problem is that all new information, recently printed books, Wikipedia and other internet “sources”, are full of the new knowledge. And unfortunately, that‘s where most young people get their information from.
Huxley's Brave New World foreshadowed this-- leadership hiding old art and music (though they were preferred) so the young would have no alternative to the new, misanthropic forms.
Oh Gosh it’s really Orwellian. I know that’s overused but in that text Orwell explores how facts are manipulated and how information controls and creates culture and he called the new lingo “Newspeak”…
Thank you so much for sharing your insights and thoughts on this topic. It was informative and inspirational. It gives me hope when most of the time I feel hopeless, beaten and completely disenfranchised.
Hard Times Create Strong Men, Strong Men Create Good Times, Good Times Create Weak Men, Weak Men Create Hard Times. Some believe it is a meme, I don’t. We are here as a society because we have chosen it. Constantly taking selfies. Saying things on social media that I wouldn’t whisper aloud in a dark windowless room. The majority of ‘men’ are fatherless. Ignoring natural rules that have been true for tens of thousands of years. I could go on. Maybe it can be changed but I doubt it. Get ready for hard times.
Well said. People absolutely, drift away from solid foundations when there is too much largesse. It's so easy to push insane agendas when one can do it from affluent secluded enclaves.
Yeah, it's crazy how extremely the tables have turned, and in such a short time. Progressives went from fighting the reactionaries of the status quo to becoming the new reactionaries of the status quo.

I've been thinking about culture creation for some time now. It struck me years ago how so many jokes and images would percolate outside the leftist controlled platforms and then proceed to spread all over. I also noticed how many musicians and artists who claimed to be anti-established were so quick to lick the boot. I found it so odd that punk subculture was entirely non-existent in a true and pure sense. Over time I've honed my views to a finer point, at the end of the day if anything is to change or supplant the status quo then things have to be created. I've taken that to heart by stepping back a few decades or centuries and learning formal philosophical frameworks particularly around Aesthetics, largely avoiding post modernism and ideas of subjective beauty and truth. Hopefully I can add to this new cultural effort through my photography, writing or designs. It probably won't have as big an impact as a good band would have or what I director might be able to create but I feel if this is going to happen an entire culture must be put forth. Not just videos and commentaries, but all the tiny pieces of culture that combine to make the fabric of our lives.
Christopher be on the beam! With flips and turns for gold. [Also: New Yorkers are always going to VT to be authentic rural--whereas NH next door is far more rural (and scenic) than VT.]
How would what you envision differ from their past prototypes, Mr. Rufo? In any case, your intentions sound constructive - if not actually constructed yet. Hope you find fulfillment in your endeavors.
What I like to see, desperately: Movies, newspapers, prizes, contentcreators, schools, etc, that is NOT explicitly right or left wing, but just is. Why. Most people are not explicitly left or right wing. Most people have views, opinions etc that sometimes are conservative(ish) and sometimes progressive(ish). Also, most people tend to be more or less liberal, whether they tend to be more on the right or more on the left. It's not that complicated.
Well done. Community and relationship (rooted in values) are antidotes to the deliberate isolation and atomization of the individual. This isolation disempowers the people and perpetuates technocratic, corporatist domination. From my perspective relationships should be with other people but also the more-than-human world. (As in the back-to-the-land movement encouraging authentic relating with land, animals, plants, water, sun, air.) Thanks for synthesizing these various streams into a hopeful message.
👋 Just like with the Left, if the Right also were to drop the religious zealotry, it would make for a much more palatable group to better associate with for non-faith holders like myself. Until then, we are resigned to identify with neither religious side.
At a time when we are staring down a new Dark Age, made more sinister and perhaps more protracted by the lights of perverted science, I always enjoy optimistic visions of the future.
the 2 party system fighting between left and right is so counter productive. Massive issues cannot be sound bites between too fighting parties. Reality is too complex for that silly thinking. It's better to try to be outside of the left/right thinking. This makes you more agile with your opnions so you can change your mind more easily if you find out that you are on the wrong side of the argument.
whenever you say 'quiet right' always make sure to properly enunciate, bro- coz otherwise some might think youre referring to a mindless heavy rock hair band from the '80s... 'so come on feel the noize!'
Evidence has supported the idea that political liberals care about the moral foundations of Harm and Fairness most strongly, while conservatives care about the moral foundations of Loyalty, Authority, and Purity in addition to Harm and Fairness (Graham et al., 2009, 2011, 2012; Haidt, 2012; Koleva et al., 2012).Apr 21, 2021 Are you familiar with psychologist and author Jonathan Haidt?
If there’s an emerging counterculture, you’d have to look to people like Thomas Sheridan, Sarah Jo Mondaini, Christian Morris to find it. They’re looking at today’s world from an esoteric, Fortean and hauntological , as well as a Jungian perspective. It’s coming from a place that transcends politics. Given that the classical education is rooted in classical paganism, you’d probably find that it’s going to fit into the current resurgence of paganism.
I think the point of the counter culture was purely "to counter". ruclips.net/video/Iyq4HZZ4H50/видео.html "Hey Johnny what are you rebelling against?" Johnny: "What have you got?" LOL. He answered a question with a question. Fully in tune with the "counter culture".
True, we need to shift the dominant discourse and slow a progressive ideology ... but free markets and more media control won't save us ... only God can save us ... in His own time. Still, let's put our shoulders to the wheel! And pray harder than ever.
what is "white pill"? I've heard only about blue, red, and black. I guess I m mostly blackpilled for now but with some dose of red and even a bit of blue :)
I have a feeling that the new conservative right, especially faith-based, will take care of itself and be fine. The moderate left is bewildered by what's going on, but if it sticks to mushy social democratic approaches that's probably not pernicious. The real gap is the center. I thought I was kind of leftish, brought up with a foundation of liberalism, in the tradition of Hume, Locke, and Adam Smith, and the Stoics. This almost entails an approach to truth and fact which privileges science, veracity and falsifiability a la Karl Popper. Apparently these views are right-ish nowadays. A re-centering to build a liberal defense of governance, democracy, markets, civic order, and a healthy society almost by default is one that provides a more right-leaning opportunity to pursue its aims, and create a much broader coalition, including those on the left who may be turned off by echoes of the Moral Majority or other instances of political evangelical activism. Not everyone has to like each other, sure. But the best way to gift the far left and its cultish pursuit of thought reform is to have fracture across the rest of the spectrum. A coalition would need to set some priorities, but not squandering resources would be a good start. Better to work on local public institutions, judiciary, investigate community counseling and rehabilitation programs, schools, resource and land use, and potentially higher ed and professional bodies (although I've just seen Chris's latest on universities so might keep some powder dry for that).
That's not true at all. The ideas of the sixties counter culture is not mainstream. The counter culture of old supported equality and free speech, just as now.
Rebelling against those who rebel is just conformity to the past. There’s nothing counter cultural about that. If you were creating something new that would be counter culture. You’re not counter culture, you’re just boring squares.
Oh so the right still has no coherent worldview. I typed a whole thing out & realized your position was too much of a mess to attempt a redraft. In short: We are living in the most free market time ever. Cost of living increased, wages stagnated, and no policies (like the child tax credit or guaranteed paid parental leave) to offset the cost of have kids. Then you mentioned some nonsense about values. The range of values people can practice is always constrained by material reality. Sure, community, family, and a higher purpose serving others sounds great. No one is going to be practicing those values if they can't afford to. Then you mentioned even more nonsense regarding whatever nonsense the left is talking about (it all boils down to the economic system remaining the same and C-Suites looking like a diverse clothing magazine cover) In short, there is no "conservative counter culture" because that counter culture supports a continuation of economic policies that produced the current culture aka you are arguing against the results while endorsing the causes
You are so wrong. The current system works but not when criminals are running the show. Anything created can be used for good or bad. The left is using it for bad. Just a few years ago everything was OK when Trump was pres. Nothing will ever be perfect, but anything is better than the left who continue to prove they are criminals hell bent on power.
You people rather a lie than the truth. All your Words are hollow.. Have you any shame. You are one who believes if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes true.
"You people lie" ? Who are you talking about? Conservatives? Lie about what? It's not that he believes that repeating a lie it becomes true. You don't understand what the saying means. Agreeing -understanding the phrase doesn't mean you actually believe that a lie becomes true. Goebbels was right. We see media repeating lies over an over again and then people believing it's true.
Its would be a dream come true to have more creativity in the conservative world. I've always been conservative financially and in most ways, but the music & art of mainstream sickens me. I know it sort of goes against the psychological leanings of ordered, more conservative ways, but it does exist in some. On the other hand, the hippy, or uber left elitism and phony hip culture is as equally sickening as in your face redneck conservatism. The world is changing & I couldn't be more ready for it. Something I''ve never understood is how the left doesn't recognize that the best art and the best music happens during conservative times. It was always more exciting to find interesting people, art & music during those times. When everything is wild & over the top liberal; there's no inspiration.
Hey Chris, I would direct you to read, The Closing of the American mind, by Alan Bloom. In it, he lays bear the lie of the supposed cultural stagnation and superficiality of the 1950s. The affluence of the 1950s led Americans to expand their understanding and appreciation of music, the arts, the sciences, and literature on a scale never seen before. This was evident in the rise of attendance at classical music venues, the theater and the arts, book [and especially encyclopedia.] purchases, and hobbies. The leftist lie, propagated first by Galbraith’s, The Affluent Society, and later by the new left, and repeated now, as if it were fact, was anything but.

How did you manage to get out? Every job I apply for out of state requires me to be there already, but I can't move without the security of a job first. Not only that but I have to go alone and can't find a living wage job anywhere even with an education. I feel trapped in a clown world.
@@user-pc8ee8sx7v Oh wow, I completely understand! I failed to mention that I work remotely and my employer graciously had no problem with me moving. So yeah, your situation is acutely different than mine, and clearly more difficult, so you have my sympathies. All I can say is keep trying - I'm rooting for you!
Glad to hear you made it out! Welcome to Texas, and howdy partner 🤠! So many great things to see and do here! Mountains, beaches, forests, you name it and we have it! 👌
Chris is a national treasure!!
Just wow.
How did you change? You read new books or listened to speakers? Can you share more? Thanks.
Definitely looking at educating our children at a traditional catholic school away from state control and indoctrination
The Catholic Church, like any other church, is not immune from this ideological infiltration. In fact you should be very careful because religious institutions were actually some of the first to be infected. Some of the "heroes" of this infiltration have Liberation Theology as part of their communist recipe for destruction of the west.
Catholic schools have followed right along with public. I would really do my research before signing up for any private school.
@@MMMaxwell-DC - Yes- totally agree.
Yes!!!!
You’re right- it’s got to be left and right!
that's a good strategy.
Chris, why are you not promoting these great videos on your Twitter!? You would have waay more views if you did that!
*Having crafted DeSantis' successful anti-CRT legislation, De Santis just appointed Rufo to Board of Trustees, New College of Florida. Chris is a very busy guy and might tend to overlook Twitter opportunities of self-promotion.*
America is still a deeply conformist society, it's just a different kind of conformism now.
"There is nothing new under the sun..."
I love your attitude Chris. Thank you for this hopeful message.
Dozens of very interesting ideas. Keep thinking, speaking, and writing Chris.
I for one, am glad to see healthy families and orthodox christians become counter cultural once again. Weve always done better under pressure.
I did not go right. The left shifted so far, they can't be seen with the HUBBLE TELESCOPE
Keep up the good work Chris. I don't agree with a lot of things you say but your thoughts need to be heard by a much wider segment of the population.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights and thoughts on this topic. It was informative and inspirational. It gives me hope when most of the time I feel hopeless, beaten and completely disenfranchised.
Keep up the great work!👍
Hard Times Create Strong Men, Strong Men Create Good Times, Good Times Create Weak Men, Weak Men Create Hard Times.
There is the forgotten corollary:
Soft women create hard men!
🤣
Conservatives are being called the new punks.
Yeah, it's crazy how extremely the tables have turned, and in such a short time. Progressives went from fighting the reactionaries of the status quo to becoming the new reactionaries of the status quo.
"wow they must think we are so cool and edgy" - some proud boy weirdo in his kaki shorts, probably
Very inspiring. Thank you. If we all poured our energies quietly into building alternative private institutions, the left wouldn't have time to react until it was too late for them
Aloha from the Island of Maui, SMK! Pu'u Honua O Pi'iholo! As a "Baby Boomer" and a 1st Generation Hippie, being young, naive, and leading up to the Kent State killings, deceived - thinking that the GOVERNMENT of America was a righteous government, in the prophetic words sung by Crosby, Stills, and Nash: 🎶"We're Finally On Our Own!"🎶 - we knew it was time to get out of the cities! As we began forming families we headed for the country, where we could "do our thing," in relative freedom from "Big Brother!" Now, here we are 50+ years, and what we had thought would happen then - is upon us, with a Vengeance! In 1972, I had a close encounter of the God kind, and through the intervening years, after coming to realize that it was Jesus who was "calling" me, "out of darkness into His marvelous Light!" (1st Peter 2:9), I would have been dead, I deserved to be dead, a long time ago! By His gracious Aloha, He has brought me to a point in my life where the reality of a righteous Government, the government of the Kingdom of God, I know, is a reality - and is now in the process of destroying this satanically inspired American/Vatican Global Civilization, through the revelation of His prophetic Word in Daniel chapter 2, particularly verses 34-35, and 44-45, where it describes the Stone Mountain Kingdom's triumph over this satanically inspired American/Vatican Global Civilization! Hale-lujah!.
To those with ears to "hear!" To His Last Generation-Remnant Ecclesia of Living Stones, Rejoice! For your Redeemer is almost here! Warning! apart from Jesus Christ, THERE IS NO HOPE out of this mess!
Speaking the Truth in Aloha, your friend and brother in Christ, Maka'ala Stone
my son just got married and i am looking forward to grandchildren. With the insanity of the world we are facing now, I am so scared of my grandchildren. I want to retire and help my son raise these children and not being shallowed by the woke evil society. God help us!
A conservative was screaming at me saying ~”YOU’RE JUST COMPLAINING! WHAT ARE THE ANSWERS!”
Calm down my upset conservative. I happened upon this video and sent the link to him, “I don’t have the answer, we’re all fumbling around in the dark, but you have to reject the surreal insane norm… here’s a guy with a few answers.. ”
Feel so isolated.
Can see the sentiment, "I am exhausted" more and more. Populist sanity needs better representation.
There is a "silent majority."
I also see the "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" speech from "Network" quite a lot these days...
Let your FREAK FLAG FLY!
You have a way with words that is most pleasant to the ears. God bless you and your mission.
Thanks for the Analysis! Well Done!
Great analysis and prescription. God bless you and your family, Chris.
Mahalo for your efforts. I really appreciate that people are striving to get closer to God and what Jesus intended for our lives and families.
What I like to see, desperately:
Movies, newspapers, prizes, contentcreators, schools, etc, that is NOT explicitly right or left wing, but just is.
(As in the back-to-the-land movement encouraging authentic relating with land, animals, plants, water, sun, air.)
Thanks for synthesizing these various streams into a hopeful message.
Excellent.
Great commentary. 👍
Y'all should check The Economancer. He has a series on some the last major battles in sociology for conservatives.
"The "Quiet" right"
LOL.
the 2 party system fighting between left and right is so counter productive. Massive issues cannot be sound bites between too fighting parties. Reality is too complex for that silly thinking. It's better to try to be outside of the left/right thinking. This makes you more agile with your opnions so you can change your mind more easily if you find out that you are on the wrong side of the argument.
I don't believe this is really happening to an important degree.
Thank you
That's so hilarious. The 60's liberal Democrat counter-culture is now being called today's stuffy , old way, backwards thinking today. 🤣
They hate the world is progressing
This gives us hope
The Silenced "Right", if you insist on "right/left" terminology.
Wonderful.
Chris, I'm not getting notifications for your videos
whenever you say 'quiet right' always make sure to properly enunciate, bro- coz otherwise some might think youre referring to a mindless heavy rock hair band from the '80s... 'so come on feel the noize!'
Tradition, family and faith that’s conservatism. That’s the hook, line and sinker.
Evidence has supported the idea that political liberals care about the moral foundations of Harm and Fairness most strongly, while conservatives care about the moral foundations of Loyalty, Authority, and Purity in addition to Harm and Fairness (Graham et al., 2009, 2011, 2012; Haidt, 2012; Koleva et al., 2012).Apr 21, 2021
Are you familiar with psychologist and author Jonathan Haidt?
Wow i just realized i am a "dirty hippy" conservative.
PAUL JOSEPH WATSON WAS HERE
Repentance is counter-culture
Tom Macdonald made conservative counter culture apparent to me last year. Certainly seemed oxymoronic at the time but it's interesting.
Please post your content on Rumble
If there’s an emerging counterculture, you’d have to look to people like Thomas Sheridan, Sarah Jo Mondaini, Christian Morris to find it. They’re looking at today’s world from an esoteric, Fortean and hauntological , as well as a Jungian perspective. It’s coming from a place that transcends politics.
Given that the classical education is rooted in classical paganism, you’d probably find that it’s going to fit into the current resurgence of paganism.
Who would have thunk it! How did all these hippy values become conservative? No matter how, I am happy to see these trends. Go woke go broke!
I go school. It good. I wrote now. I 40 years age. America education it tops!
It isn't right or left. It's right or wrong.
I think the point of the counter culture was purely "to counter".
ruclips.net/video/Iyq4HZZ4H50/видео.html
"Hey Johnny what are you rebelling against?"
Johnny: "What have you got?"
LOL.
Excellent Video. Thank you.
One person you need to watch is Jonathan Pageau's and his Symbolic World Channel.
Interesting what’s considered conservative today ,would be the equivalent of 60s liberalism, truth be told.
Thank you for the white pill. We need more of that
what is "white pill"? I've heard only about blue, red, and black. I guess I m mostly blackpilled for now but with some dose of red and even a bit of blue :)
Moldbug aka Curtis Yarvin?
Watching these videos helps.
I love your stuff, Roofo, you fantastic b*stard!
Plus he's something of a snack.
Bernie is anything but authentic!!!! (How can you think he is ????? That's image only.)
Wait, is this anything like Quiet Riot?? :P
TEACHING DEI? REALLY? Can you support this assertion?
That's not true at all. The ideas of the sixties counter culture is not mainstream. The counter culture of old supported equality and free speech, just as now.
First video I have seen of yours..I'm a Vermonter and hate Bernie Sanders lol
I love your energy
When a conservative runs his own show that’s not 100% political commentary, I’ll believe it exists.
Entertainment, not news.
I’m glad that actor who’s names I can’t remember has gone conservative :)
I love the way you think
Rebelling against those who rebel is just conformity to the past. There’s nothing counter cultural about that. If you were creating something new that would be counter culture. You’re not counter culture, you’re just boring squares.
Lol
Oh so the right still has no coherent worldview. I typed a whole thing out & realized your position was too much of a mess to attempt a redraft.
In short: We are living in the most free market time ever. Cost of living increased, wages stagnated, and no policies (like the child tax credit or guaranteed paid parental leave) to offset the cost of have kids.
Then you mentioned some nonsense about values. The range of values people can practice is always constrained by material reality. Sure, community, family, and a higher purpose serving others sounds great. No one is going to be practicing those values if they can't afford to.
Then you mentioned even more nonsense regarding whatever nonsense the left is talking about (it all boils down to the economic system remaining the same and C-Suites looking like a diverse clothing magazine cover)
In short, there is no "conservative counter culture" because that counter culture supports a continuation of economic policies that produced the current culture aka you are arguing against the results while endorsing the causes
Spot on
You people rather a lie than the truth. All your Words are hollow.. Have you any shame. You are one who believes if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes true.
??
LOL!
Yes, that's the far-left's modus operandi.
Aspergers?
Its would be a dream come true to have more creativity in the conservative world.
I've always been conservative financially and in most ways, but the music & art of mainstream sickens me.
I know it sort of goes against the psychological leanings of ordered, more conservative ways, but it does exist
in some.
