I have the phone and I have no social media, I don't take selfies or any of that crap either. I take sometimes a picture from my Kids. The reason why I wanted the phone is the size, finally a phone that pits into the front Jeans pocket. I also got it for the front screen. But I defo didn't got the phone to post some stupid pictures on Instagram. I don't even have a Instagram account..I think most people buy this phone due to practicality, small, and long battery
The cameras in my opinion are pretty good I think most people are too used to the vibrant color popping photos that Samsung brings with their phones they tend to saturate so the colors look more vibrant and pop in my opinion the Razr+ takes more natural color photos which like it was said in the video can just be edited to add more color pop and vibrancy I will say being that the 12mp doesn’t have OiS which correct me if I’m wrong helps with the motion in a photo to capture it better the 13mp does but I will say due to the slower shutter speed depending on your environment and/or lighting it can possibly make your photo good or bad due to letting more light in the photos or not enough light could make the colors not as natural giving that depressed look it does take sharp and detailed photos the digital zoom is bad in my opinion due to hardware limitations possibly but software can help in some ways if the company is willing to put in the work into updates I took some standard 1x and .5x photos with the Razr+ and an iPhone 14 pro and from what I’ve seen the natural coloring is similar
For me, the camera is just ok. It's extremely noticeable when you come from a high-end phone to this phone. I understand it's equipment limitation, but when they break through with camera tech, that's when I can fully recommend these flippables whole-heartedly. Using the phone for a bit has made me extremely excited for the future footprint of phones!
@@MichaelTran11814 That’s true I had a Mi 11 Ultra and in my opinion that camera was great it had the color pop but it didn’t over saturate like Samsung phones normally do. To me the Mi 11 ultra was definitely an upgrade from the LG Wing but the LG Wing was still a great camera as well but now I have the Razr+ and I feel like I went back towards the Wing style photo and I’m fine with I know the Razr+ also has a vivid style for the display but I felt it made things look a little too saturated at times so I’m using the natural option on my display but I feel like flip phones can and will get better hardware but there’s definitely gonna be compromises with something that always seems to be the case and foldables can have great cameras and should due to the fact the still have that chocolate bar style for the prices they charge they better I feel there’s less excuses for foldables than there are for flippables I know that due to the screen they had hardware limitations with the cameras I guess that’s why they made another Razr that looks more like the flip 4 but with better camera hardware from what I’ve seen. Hopefully Motorola decides to have consistent updates towards the phones to improve it’s usability and quality through software
I hope to see your "vs" video comparing the Razr+ to the Zflip5 that is supposed to have a bigger front screen. I have a flip 3 and like the phone, but have a few cons that is making me like the Razr better.
Love its feel when unfolded. Best in a while of any phone. Distributes its weight well. Keyboard setting on tall is perfect for my hands. Wish the screen was a little slicker. Feels like it has a paperlike drawing screen cover. Needs waxed 😅 Cant wait until other phones become as thin as this device when it's unfolded. Surprisingly little bloayware after you delete the forced installed at aet up apps like find my phone and good podcast etc. No more bloateare than a pixel and a lot less compsred to Galaxy.

I think it's a better phone than Samsung's latest FLIP. This Motorola RAZR looks the business. Its design is cleaner and superior to that of Samsung's equivalent. Is Motorola back? ...imo YES!!! This phone looks 🔥🔥🔥
Great phone...My only issue is not being able to customize the External Screen other than the Wallpaper. I use Launcher 10 on every Android phone and the fact that I can use it on the Internal but not the External sucks.
Made for taking pictures and stuff. Nah I just like it cause it folds and looks nice. 😂 imma be playing Mario kart and yugioh lol and just enjoying something other than a rectangle. Lol love the video homie.
I'm happy with it too. Very fast response on all aps. Big to large screen works great too. Also split screen is way better than on a normal one. Do find the cover protection a bit annoying. Wearing jeans you always get small dust on the edges with the screen.

Loved this phone until month 3. With lots of careful use, I got a thick black line in the fold which made the top of the screen unusable. It was a big pain to get it covered under warranty and now with the new phone, I just don't fold it anymore. I am too worried the same thing will happen again. Wish I had got something else.

Off topic, but the only people I ever see complain about saturation and "punchy" pictures are people online. IRL I never hear complaints about my S24 Ultra (or other phones I had) saturation or processing. They actually love the saturation. My business has me take pictures daily of my dogs, and owners/friends/family alike love it. Any person I run into that has an iphone loves my pictures better, and that's because of the saturation and processing
What I find funny is when Blackberry Passport was out people complained about the "square only 4.5 in. screen" now people love the 3.5 on this 😂😂 Blackberry Passport was and still is the best designed phone to date.

I'm getting it next week and taking it on a contract. It was either this or the pixel 8 but I have a pixel 6 so I'm just going to get this and keep my pixel 6 as my backup.
Does this still have the fold crease line in the middle when opened like on the Samsung folds and other Razrs? The crease would do my head in when trying to watch videos and utubing.
When I first saw this on Moto's site (looking up the Edge+ honestly), I got excited like no other... but delving into it, they cut things literally everywhere except for the folding and outer screen stuff... figured the photos would be at least acceptable in any phone nowadays, but I was wrong... Also, don't ever be outside if there's a chance of rain, always wash and dry your hands before using it, etc...
I just ordered the Motorola razr 40 ultra I have been using the Samsung z flip 3 but decided to sell it and go for the razr 40 I know the cameras are not that great on the phone but I don’t really use the camera all that much so that’s not an issue for me Yes you could say but the Samsung z flip 5 has a big outer screen but I wanted to try out a different phone
The 2 phone business model is genius A cheaper option with a less distracting but tasteful cover screen and a Premium model with a giant one They need to beat Samsung's build quality next gen

The camera feels like a downgrade from the pixel 4a that came out forever ago, but it's just most noticable when i take fish tank photos because fish move. The form factor and being able to use the front screen to do everything, even type this comment, is worth the trade-off. I still have my pixel for fish tank photos
My only gripe is google messaging app, I'm not a fan of it. I prefer LG's or Samsung's messaging apps. Until I can get a working LG or Samsung messaging apk running this and the edge 30 fusion will remain backups.
I appreciate your review. But I don't know why anybody would buy this when the flip five is coming out in a few days. It's going to have better battery life a faster processor and such a nice screen with a great camera
Basic disappointments with Motorola 40 Ultra - (1) Poor call quality; (2) none of the pictures can be edited unless you pay additional amounts to google by subscribing to a monthly payment plan; (3) there is no application for ‘Notes’ unless you again subscribe and pay to a third-party application. Upon escalating these issues to Motorola, they confirmed in writing that their device lacks these basic features. Please do not waste your money on this phone. It’s an absolute waste.

I have no intention adding any season after 20 from Family Guy or any season of Futurama's Hulu revival. I want my Flip3 and Razr 5G to be exactly at 80% filled capacity. It will get slower once it's over 90%. I know I can always stream a lot of these on Netflix, Pluto TV, or Tubi. But I want my absolute favorite movies and TV shows to be stored locally in case all my 10 GB hotspot data is used up. My Pixel 3 has only 72% filled because shows like The Boys and HOT D are still going on. I will delete some Dreamcast games when storage gets tight. What makes the Razr 5G so wonderful is the cover display is only 800x600 at a near 4:3 aspect ratio like the old TVs prior to the 16:9 era from the early-00s. The new Razr+ is 1066x1056. If I watched a 360p video on it, it will look grainy since I'm blowing up the video via MX Player Pro to fit the display. Having only 2.7" / 60 Hz and lower resolution offers more battery savings than what the Razr+ has. Having 1066x1056 is a weird resolution than 800x600. The cover display of the Flip3 (& 4) is 512x260. I know it's only at 1.9" but it's actually better for movies if you can tolerate the size thanks to the wider aspect ratio. If the film is shot at 2.35:1 like Star Wars or Indiana Jones, it fills up the entire screen. If the film is 1.85:1, it nearly fills it. Only tiny bezels on the sides. On the Razr being a square, more letterboxing (more bezels) from top and bottom. I think a majority of my favorite films was shot in that wider 2:35:1 like Star Wars and most MCU films than the 1.85:1 like Goodfellas. The weirder aspect ratios lately are the Disney+ ones like Loki. Doesn't fill the entire cover display on my Flip3. Left it for my Pixel 3 with the 18:9. Even House Of The Dragon doesn't fill the entire cover display of my Flip3. So whichever show doesn't look good on it, I put it on my Pixel 3. And my Pixel 3 happens to have the best internal audio using Sony WH-1000XM4s. I have my XM4's EQ to like +7/+4/+7+/4+/+7 and it's like being inside a movie theater watching movies from it. Pixel 3 turns 5 this October and it still has the best audio and one of the best cameras. I always download from The Pirate Bay and there is an uploader named "threesixtyp" that I always search for last weekend because he or she uploads in 360p. So instead of Game of Thrones at over 50 GB at 720p, I'll get it at under 15 GB at 360p. I saved over 200 GB last weekend deleting those 720p mp4 or mkv for the 360p. Yeah, quality is meh. Uploader states 5/10 or 6/10 in quality between VHS recording being 3/10, DVD being 8/10, and Blu-ray being 10/10. But my gen grew up on 720x480p / 4:3 aspect ratio for years. Grew up on analog standard TV with all the static if we didn't have cable. So quality between VHS and DVD is extremely passable for my eyes. Now let's talk Pixel Fold and Razr+. I like them both but they each have these glaring flaws. The most obvious ones are using last year's chips. Flip5 is coming out in maybe a month and will have Snap 8 Gen 2. Pixel 8 series comes out in 3+ months and will have Tensor G3. Do you really want to be stuck with a year-old chip for another 2-3 years? The AT&T deal for $5 for the next 36 months for the Razr+ may sound fantastic at first but I don't want to be stuck paying for a minimum $65 plan for the next 3 years. The current Tensor G2 is built on the inefficient Samsung node and on 5nm. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is built on 4nm. The Pixel Fold to me looks like a better device than the Razr+ being it has far better cameras and way more useful cover display (full slab vs. half slab), but it's also the biggest rip-off of the two. Between paying $5 for 36 months on Razr+ or $25 for 36 months (ends up at $900) on the Pixel Fold through AT&T, I would pick the Razr+. And I'm hearing the Pixel Fold is poor with battery life and is quite heavy. I'm happy with what I already have. Back in Aug/Sept 2021 when I got my Flip3 and Razr 5G only 20 days apart, I told myself I would stick with them until they both break or if I lose them or they get stolen. I'm tired of getting new phones and re-doing everything. Setting it up again. Transferring media files on them again which can take a while. It's pretty much the same thing every year but nothing groundbreaking. Maybe foldables really are gimmicky? They break easier. They're more expensive to repair. You can view content better on a slab while on landscape than on a tiny 3.6" cover display. It's not 2007 any more squinting on displays under 4". And if you don't open your Pixel Fold, then what's the point? You basically got a heavier and thicker phone to carry with you when you were probably better off using a regular slab to begin with. So many cases offers a kickstand for slab phones. If money was no issue, I would pick the Pixel Fold over the Razr+. I do want a book-style foldable this time. The aspect ratio makes more sense since most content is wider. I want the split screen and running two apps at once stuff like how the Surface Duo does it. Will have the superior cameras and accessories over the Razr+ while the Razr+ is at least $800 cheaper, more pocketable, and 100 g lighter. Through the AT&T / 36 months deal, Razr+ is $720 cheaper. I've had my Razr 5G for nearly 2 years. Fully paid off since last April. Never found one case to fully protect the hinge and I checked everywhere. I ended mainly using the Nakedcellphone case from Amazon which looks exactly like Beltron and Encased. Comes with a holster clip which has a kickstand. But I dropped it a few times and the hinges got scuffed. The holster will also scratch up the case the more times you slide it in and out. If you own the Razr+, good luck finding a nice case for it. Sometimes the case blocks the top enough that's it's harder to pull down the toggle panel. I already learned my lesson from the Razr 5G getting multiple cases including a few ugly ones from Aliexpress. Samsung will always get the better cases because they are by far the more popular brand than Motorola. My Flip3 has this faux leather by Zvelsiem. Has the magnetic hump but it feels great and protects the hinge 100%. Samsung also has an actual store in SoCal. It's in Glendale at the Americana. If you break your Motorola, good luck finding a shop to repair it. Pixel Fold is the least polished of the two even with the longer software support and cool Google exclusives like Magic Eraser. I don't like that crease. This can bubble up the screen protector like it did on the Z Folds. I don't like how the left bezel on the outside is thicker (for the obsidian one). I don't like the bezels on the interior display. No stylus support. Still a first gen product catered to guinea pigs. But it does offer the nicer cases. Some nice ones I found on eBay. I want faux leather, kickstand, and 100% full hinge protection. I'm planning to skip this year getting a new phone altogether. Wait for Pixel Fold 2 or 3. Perhaps Google can shave the bezels and a large chunk of that price. These book-style foldables should start being priced at $999 and below. That's why they're still niche. Gimmicky and expensive. People are content with slabs. While the flips should be at $599 and below since both styles are dealing with camera compromises and weaker battery life. Wait for next year's Razr if flips are your thing. I'm hearing Snap 8 Gen 3 is more efficient than Gen 2. Motorola better use Gen 3 for next year. I'm good with what I have. My Razr 5G was my previous daily driver for about 18 months until I switched to AT&T since they offered ACP. So my daily driver became my Flip3. That has my favorite movies, Derry Girls, and Silicon Valley. My Razr 5G has 13 of my favorite TV shows. It used to have my 100 favorite movies but decided to delete them all. They're already saved on my Google Photos via Pixel 3. Then I'll bring my Pixel 3 with all the recent series I've enjoyed the last 5 years like Cobra Kai and The Boys. Or sometimes my modded PS Vita 2K model if I want to game. I have a good thing going right now. I also have an iPhone SE 2022 that I usually leave at home. I'll use that if my 3 other phones needs to recharge. Adding more phones when I've been trying to get rid of them just isn't practical to me right now. So many different cables. Phones needing to be recharged. There is always a better phone every new year. Skipping this year is no big deal. The tech I want to see greatly improve are AR glasses. I wear glasses. I want to leave my smartphones at home more.

The best case I have found for my Motorola Razor plus is the Poetic Spartan case. I'm loving my phone

The camera feels like a downgrade from the pixel 4a that came out forever ago, but it's just most noticable when i take fish tank photos because fish move. The form factor and being able to use the front screen to do everything, even type this comment, is worth the trade-off. I still have my pixel for fish tank photos

My only gripe is google messaging app, I'm not a fan of it. I prefer LG's or Samsung's messaging apps. Until I can get a working LG or Samsung messaging apk running this and the edge 30 fusion will remain backups.

Basic disappointments with Motorola 40 Ultra - (1) Poor call quality; (2) none of the pictures can be edited unless you pay additional amounts to google by subscribing to a monthly payment plan; (3) there is no application for ‘Notes’ unless you again subscribe and pay to a third-party application. Upon escalating these issues to Motorola, they confirmed in writing that their device lacks these basic features. Please do not waste your money on this phone. It’s an absolute waste.
Flip 5 is going to be $400 more.

Flip3 covers PS2 and GameCube/Wii emulation. Pixel 3 covers Dreamcast. Razr 5G covers N64 and Jaguar. Vita covers NES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, SNES, some MAME, PS1, some PS2, PSP, and it's own Vita library. Vita covers most of my gaming needs but I do miss owning a Switch. Gawd, I hate stick drift. The game I'm addicted to playing a lot lately is the MAME version of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (1993).
About 10 Futurama episodes are missing. I have no intention adding any season after 20 from Family Guy or any season of Futurama's Hulu revival. I want my Flip3 and Razr 5G to be exactly at 80% filled capacity. It will get slower once it's over 90%. I know I can always stream a lot of these on Netflix, Pluto TV, or Tubi. But I want my absolute favorite movies and TV shows to be stored locally in case all my 10 GB hotspot data is used up. My Pixel 3 has only 72% filled because shows like The Boys and HOT D are still going on. I will delete some Dreamcast games when storage gets tight.
What makes the Razr 5G so wonderful is the cover display is only 800x600 at a near 4:3 aspect ratio like the old TVs prior to the 16:9 era from the early-00s. The new Razr+ is 1066x1056. If I watched a 360p video on it, it will look grainy since I'm blowing up the video via MX Player Pro to fit the display. Having only 2.7" / 60 Hz and lower resolution offers more battery savings than what the Razr+ has. Having 1066x1056 is a weird resolution than 800x600.
The cover display of the Flip3 (& 4) is 512x260. I know it's only at 1.9" but it's actually better for movies if you can tolerate the size thanks to the wider aspect ratio. If the film is shot at 2.35:1 like Star Wars or Indiana Jones, it fills up the entire screen. If the film is 1.85:1, it nearly fills it. Only tiny bezels on the sides. On the Razr being a square, more letterboxing (more bezels) from top and bottom. I think a majority of my favorite films was shot in that wider 2:35:1 like Star Wars and most MCU films than the 1.85:1 like Goodfellas.
The weirder aspect ratios lately are the Disney+ ones like Loki. Doesn't fill the entire cover display on my Flip3. Left it for my Pixel 3 with the 18:9. Even House Of The Dragon doesn't fill the entire cover display of my Flip3. So whichever show doesn't look good on it, I put it on my Pixel 3. And my Pixel 3 happens to have the best internal audio using Sony WH-1000XM4s. I have my XM4's EQ to like +7/+4/+7+/4+/+7 and it's like being inside a movie theater watching movies from it. Pixel 3 turns 5 this October and it still has the best audio and one of the best cameras.
I always download from The Pirate Bay and there is an uploader named "threesixtyp" that I always search for last weekend because he or she uploads in 360p. So instead of Game of Thrones at over 50 GB at 720p, I'll get it at under 15 GB at 360p. I saved over 200 GB last weekend deleting those 720p mp4 or mkv for the 360p. Yeah, quality is meh. Uploader states 5/10 or 6/10 in quality between VHS recording being 3/10, DVD being 8/10, and Blu-ray being 10/10. But my gen grew up on 720x480p / 4:3 aspect ratio for years. Grew up on analog standard TV with all the static if we didn't have cable. So quality between VHS and DVD is extremely passable for my eyes.
Now let's talk Pixel Fold and Razr+. I like them both but they each have these glaring flaws. The most obvious ones are using last year's chips. Flip5 is coming out in maybe a month and will have Snap 8 Gen 2. Pixel 8 series comes out in 3+ months and will have Tensor G3. Do you really want to be stuck with a year-old chip for another 2-3 years? The AT&T deal for $5 for the next 36 months for the Razr+ may sound fantastic at first but I don't want to be stuck paying for a minimum $65 plan for the next 3 years.
The current Tensor G2 is built on the inefficient Samsung node and on 5nm. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is built on 4nm. The Pixel Fold to me looks like a better device than the Razr+ being it has far better cameras and way more useful cover display (full slab vs. half slab), but it's also the biggest rip-off of the two. Between paying $5 for 36 months on Razr+ or $25 for 36 months (ends up at $900) on the Pixel Fold through AT&T, I would pick the Razr+. And I'm hearing the Pixel Fold is poor with battery life and is quite heavy.
I'm happy with what I already have. Back in Aug/Sept 2021 when I got my Flip3 and Razr 5G only 20 days apart, I told myself I would stick with them until they both break or if I lose them or they get stolen. I'm tired of getting new phones and re-doing everything. Setting it up again. Transferring media files on them again which can take a while. It's pretty much the same thing every year but nothing groundbreaking.
Maybe foldables really are gimmicky? They break easier. They're more expensive to repair. You can view content better on a slab while on landscape than on a tiny 3.6" cover display. It's not 2007 any more squinting on displays under 4". And if you don't open your Pixel Fold, then what's the point? You basically got a heavier and thicker phone to carry with you when you were probably better off using a regular slab to begin with. So many cases offers a kickstand for slab phones.
If money was no issue, I would pick the Pixel Fold over the Razr+. I do want a book-style foldable this time. The aspect ratio makes more sense since most content is wider. I want the split screen and running two apps at once stuff like how the Surface Duo does it. Will have the superior cameras and accessories over the Razr+ while the Razr+ is at least $800 cheaper, more pocketable, and 100 g lighter. Through the AT&T / 36 months deal, Razr+ is $720 cheaper.
I've had my Razr 5G for nearly 2 years. Fully paid off since last April. Never found one case to fully protect the hinge and I checked everywhere. I ended mainly using the Nakedcellphone case from Amazon which looks exactly like Beltron and Encased. Comes with a holster clip which has a kickstand. But I dropped it a few times and the hinges got scuffed. The holster will also scratch up the case the more times you slide it in and out.
If you own the Razr+, good luck finding a nice case for it. Sometimes the case blocks the top enough that's it's harder to pull down the toggle panel. I already learned my lesson from the Razr 5G getting multiple cases including a few ugly ones from Aliexpress. Samsung will always get the better cases because they are by far the more popular brand than Motorola. My Flip3 has this faux leather by Zvelsiem. Has the magnetic hump but it feels great and protects the hinge 100%. Samsung also has an actual store in SoCal. It's in Glendale at the Americana. If you break your Motorola, good luck finding a shop to repair it.
Pixel Fold is the least polished of the two even with the longer software support and cool Google exclusives like Magic Eraser. I don't like that crease. This can bubble up the screen protector like it did on the Z Folds. I don't like how the left bezel on the outside is thicker (for the obsidian one). I don't like the bezels on the interior display. No stylus support. Still a first gen product catered to guinea pigs. But it does offer the nicer cases. Some nice ones I found on eBay. I want faux leather, kickstand, and 100% full hinge protection.
I'm planning to skip this year getting a new phone altogether. Wait for Pixel Fold 2 or 3. Perhaps Google can shave the bezels and a large chunk of that price. These book-style foldables should start being priced at $999 and below. That's why they're still niche. Gimmicky and expensive. People are content with slabs. While the flips should be at $599 and below since both styles are dealing with camera compromises and weaker battery life. Wait for next year's Razr if flips are your thing. I'm hearing Snap 8 Gen 3 is more efficient than Gen 2. Motorola better use Gen 3 for next year.
I'm good with what I have. My Razr 5G was my previous daily driver for about 18 months until I switched to AT&T since they offered ACP. So my daily driver became my Flip3. That has my favorite movies, Derry Girls, and Silicon Valley. My Razr 5G has 13 of my favorite TV shows. It used to have my 100 favorite movies but decided to delete them all. They're already saved on my Google Photos via Pixel 3. Then I'll bring my Pixel 3 with all the recent series I've enjoyed the last 5 years like Cobra Kai and The Boys. Or sometimes my modded PS Vita 2K model if I want to game.
I have a good thing going right now. I also have an iPhone SE 2022 that I usually leave at home. I'll use that if my 3 other phones needs to recharge. Adding more phones when I've been trying to get rid of them just isn't practical to me right now. So many different cables. Phones needing to be recharged. There is always a better phone every new year. Skipping this year is no big deal. The tech I want to see greatly improve are AR glasses. I wear glasses. I want to leave my smartphones at home more.
