  • Filmed live at recording sessions in September 2013, acclaimed countertenor Iestyn Davies and The King's Consort perform a colourful selection of arias from Handel's finest oratorios.
In unique 'behind the scenes' filmed footage, Iestyn Davies, conductor Robert King, soprano Carolyn Sampson, concertmaster Kati Debretzeni and other members of The King's Consort talk about the selection of arias, and give remarkable insights into the making of a world-class recording. Musical jewels performed include Handel's gloriously lyrical "Yet can I hear that dulcet lay", the virtuosic "Mighty love now calls to arm", the breathtaking duet "Who calls my parting soul from death" (with Iestyn joined by soprano Carolyn Sampson) and the classic "Eternal source of light divine", where Iestyn is partnered by trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins.
