    I would love for you to do a compilation of the knives which had a 10 rating for the different tasks. You mentioned Lilly’s knife for the fire steel scraping. What was the one that ranked 10 for splitting? What was the one that rated 10 for feather sticking? What was the one rated 10 for pee pee stabbing???

    I appreciated the way you incorporated the sponsor. It was clear without being distasteful. The one thing that fans are always trying to tease out is how much of the reason is sponsorship vs belief in the product. Continue to maintain your authenticity and DBK fans will never doubt your intentions.

    I've had this one for a while now and it goes with me on every trek innawoods as a companion knife to my Demko Freereeign (also in Magnacut).
    This one I paracord-sling-carry on me while the Demko is attached to my pack and it sees a lot of use. Excellent knife. Boker really nailed it with this one.

    I've seen chainring bolts used in the past for knifehandles. As they're a very short and broad thread they don't have any stretch to them and so are very prone to vibrating free. The right move is to install them with a thread retention compound like loctite 222 (or 243 if you're less likely to be removing the bolts frequently)- this is how they're installed on bikes.

  • @tubulzr
    @tubulzr 3 месяца назад +5

    Looks like a great knife. Enough for almost any bushcraft task while remaining nimble, Magnacut, so say no more.
    The low scandi on this one, and the ease of sharpening it, as shown, might be also best for the upcoming DBK knife?
    The integrated sponsor item was nice. Clearly stated as 'sponsored' and immediately put to use, to show what it can do. Nice mirror polish...
    Sponsor whatever/however, as long as you guys truly appreciate the product.

    I think the only thing I don't like about it is that it's 4mm thick! I prefer knives that can slice well, 2mm is my favorite for scandi. This would be okay with a flat or other grind but scandi AND 4mm is thicker than my axe geometry

    • @RobinJamesEricBond
      @RobinJamesEricBond 3 месяца назад +1

      I have one and I agree. The 4mm is overkill for this very tough steel, I have a few other scandi ground knives at 3mm thick and they slice so much better

    There is no such thing as the best knife. There are knives that are suitable for a task for different reasons. There is also personal preference, subjective but we humans are not all the same. The Böker Vigtig vs Wild is certainly a good knife, there are certainly people for whom it is personally the best knife, others may find the knife good, but find another knife better.

    @J.sh_CDN 3 месяца назад

    Just started the video, and watched the part where you mention the nice small sheath and the clip on it do that you don't need a belt.
    I fully agree!!! One reason I Love mora companions and pro series is that they can clip into anything. Jeans, sweatpants, you can even clip them onto your underwear and go running around nearly naked and still have a knife on you.
    For me personally, I've really strives to add this to every knife I own. Early basic sheaths, id just create a dangler with a carabiner to easily clip onto your waistband or something.
    Now though, I've found little Knock off Ulticlips (which I believe is on the knife sheath here) and they are fantastic especially for any kydex sheath. They add so much versatility to a knife and how you carry it. Now the real ulticlip is probably better and more reliable, bit for someone living outside of USA, the knock off is fine and works as intended.

That's how it should be done. I would love to see relevant sponsors like this all the time. I mean get your money however you have to do it, unless it negatively affects your channel. You guys invested your lives in your work. You provide amazing content and information. You shouldn't have to end up broke just because you like what you're doing.

    That's seems like a great little knife. Integrating the sponsor product seem like a nice addition to me. I liked how you used it to put a mirror polish on the knife, showing what the sharpener could do, and then used the knife after that showing it's sharpness. I thought that was a nice touch. Thanks guys, now I have to save up 165 dollars for this one at the same time I'm saving up 300 Euros for a Malanika Puuko. Sheesh!

    A'aight, so what's the hardness of the Boker Vigtig? The creator of Magnacut stated that it's really important to get that right, and some brands made "Magnacut" knives with a hardness of 59 Rockwell which completely negates all positive Magnacut properties.

I recently bought a Tsprof Kadet Pro and what can I say, I love the system, it is solid, functional and precise. I still do a lot of freehand sharpening, but for example edge reprofiling I use the Tsprof system because it makes the process so much easier and is highly precise.
