I enjoyed watching all of your TM w/expansions playthroughs. As for Turmoil, I know now, I do not need to purchase it. Again, I enjoyed your TM playthroughs, thank you.

Hi Robert! Thanks a lot for watching our videos. Glad that we helped you decide about Turmoil. It is not for everyone and it does seem a bit like an extra game tacked on to the base game. I would recommend getting Prelude if you want an expansion. It really adds to the game and we never play without it. Colonies is pretty good too. Thanks a lot for your comment!

I know this is an old video, but I think that you shouldn't place the mining area tile at 57:30 due to a lack of other tile in that area?

Hi SanChi. You are absolutely correct. This tile needed to be placed beside another of my tiles so it was an illegal placement. Sorry about that! I have made a note in the Klingon subtitles. Hope you enjoyed the video!

Well played Pat. I guess you're the one with the bragging rights now - at least for a day or two.
This time it was pretty easy to see where the game was heading already from around generation five. I think Glai should have tried to focus more on terraforming to remove your obvious late game advantage and to use her own company's strengths. It's also so critically important to do well on Awards and Milestones, especially in 2-player games. You did really well to position yourself to take the majority of those points (although you got one "for free" with your corporation").
I have never played with Turmoil and even though I wouldn't mind trying it, I wouldn't buy it, since I don't feel that it adds anything that interests me. I prefer the base game + Prelude (and to vary the boards).
One tiny FYI: I noticed that both in this and the last playthrough, you mistook the cheaper Mining Rights card (4) for the more expensive one (9). You have to place the former adjacent to one of your tiles.

SIrbrastias! Haha... yes, I have been the chirpier one in the house over the last few days. My corporation had a very good ability and because the project cards were so cheap for me, I was able to keep most of them and that meant that later on I had a lot more choices on what to do with my megacredits. Also, as you pointed out, I got the Planner milestone for free. Starting with 14 megacredits meant that I took a bit of time to be able to produce resources, and Glai had a bit of a head start on me. It was kind of like her having a Prelude card! But after a couple of rounds we were pulling in more or less the same amount of cash and then my advantage really started to show.
Turmoil is worth trying out just to see what it is like, but like you we prefer just to play with the base game and Prelude and the different boards. I don't think there is ever a need to play without Prelude and I think that it really adds to the game. We played the A-Board List with the different expansions separately just to showcase how they work, but when we play normally, it is usually just Prelude. We rarely use Turmoil and just sometimes use Colonies or Venus Next.
Thanks a lot of pointing out my mistake with Mining Rights. I should have read it more carefully because I was surprised at how cheap the card was. Now I know the reason!
