Almost Everything have to be Tüv certified on your car if you want it to be legal in Germany (this is of corse because of the Autobahn).
And no my cars isn’t legal by German standards and it is because of my Studded winter tiers on both and a modified stock exhaust (basically a muffler delete) so that isn’t TÜV certified which doesn’t really matter since i live Sweden.
The tiers need to be changed if i want to drive to Germany, but I don’t think the exhaust system will be an issue if it has passed inspection (“Besiktningen”) here in Sweden, as I have understood it, it only becomes a problem if it directly violates a law (for cars registered out side Germany).
Finally someone explains this! Was it hard getting your wheel company certified by these organizations?

Also, in Germany we have the stamp of KBA with a 5 digit number, that's for German wheels to check for the quality paper to get it for TÜV. You can make a whole series out of German car regulations 🙄 thanks for the content and stay safe, greetings from Germany 👋

Does anyone know what ET 3/5 means? This wheels 14x6 4x100 came with my car (Lancer ES 2006) when I bought it, corroborating with the fitment in the car they are not ET35 and ET-35 neither but I don´t know what ET 3/5 means.

TUV is so hated in the German car community, if your car gets inspected or you get pulled over they could ruin your day in an instant after finding anything not TUV
If we get caught we say... bye bye
You know what is worse? Luxemburgish Version of TÜV (SNCT) because 1. they do not have their own testing facilities etc. so they ask specifically for the TÜV shit and yet when you buy a car in germany with 2 years of TÜV, well they only recognize 1 year because TÜV is "inferior". and f you have aftermarketparts with TÜV, they still require you getting a special inspection to register the papers, and sometimes even if it is TÜV certified, they still refuse it (the uncle of my bro had costum made Recaro Seats for his back done, WITH TÜV madshit paying nearly 2k€ for 1! seat and he still had to go back and forth 6 times between SNCT and TÜV.
I do get the reason and importance of a technical inspection if they would actually make sense: my car got once refused because of the wiperpumps for the headlights! not working as if i would see when i drive that there is no fluid coming out when i whipe my windshield (because this triggers also the whipers for the headlights), or another example: i went with a car of a friend and got refused for wrong tire size: installed 185/65R15, but in the papers only allowed to use 195/65R15 (bigger) or 175/65R15 (smaller) LIKE WTF??? the ones installed is right between these 2 valid options??!!!! the tires are either 10mm slimmer or 10mm wider and the entire tire diameter changes for few mm only so literally NO DIFFERENCE
but noooo these KORINTHENKACKER are fookin idiots, these folks deserve to be send with a Reichsbahnticket in a Güterwagon Class Untermensch to a holiday camp in Poland where they learn to use their brain by concentrating.

In germany these Number mean wheel size and the space between logs and with out these Numbers you can not get a TÜV

Helps to dial in the fitment to be as precise as possible with multipiece wheels because every part has the option to be custom made

Artisa Elders, 18x8.5 +35 5x100........ thats..... 0.5" too wide..... now I gotta run 7-8mm spacers. are you gonna make me poke? or can you offer a normal 8 wide size? I just don't have the stance boy ride with the stance boi widebody/empty wheel wells to fit 8.5. I could make make it work, but gosh darn it.... they were 6" wide at the factory and that was tight as is. #PTCruiserProblemsandbeingaPTainttheonlyproblem

Hi. Am tyre guy. If you drive a van please don't put 19" car alloys on it. Jacking your ford transit up and leaving it on an axle stand all day while we take your rim to the blacksmiths is not a nice start to the day. Yes they look good but your van weighs 3 ton and you need some sidewall.
