Was today at Ousdale Broch. What an amazing structure. Thanks for the consolidation works, which let us see the broch and the history.

One day, I'll get a picture in a broch and caption it 'Finding myself in Scotland'

You must preserve my castle. I'll be over in 2024 to see it.

Please, could you tell me where exactly the castle? And the other sites of course.
I would go to visit them when I'll back in Caithness next time.

Hi Lorella. The Castle is called Sinclair Girnigoe, and is located a few miles north of Staxigoe, near Wick. Turn into Henrietta Street in Wick, then right onto Girnigoe Street. Left at Willowbank Street, then onwards through Broadhaven Road. Continue round, through Staxigoe, past the war memorial, and all the way round to the car park lighthouse. It's a short walk to the castle from there :)

Sadly Sinclair has scaffolding all over it. If it says Historic Scotland,
    read Metal scaffolding.

Caithness has more history than Orkney, however Caithness folk do not seem to be intrested in preserving or promoting Caithness history for future generations or for tourism. Many historic sites are just left to return to nature and the landscape, this is the reason many tourists just pass through Caithness for more popular Orkney or the Highland capital. Caithness needs to wake up to this before its too late.

Bang on! And well, we're trying. There's lots to be done though.
