FamCamp Review - Tyndall Air Force Base RV Park near Panama City FL. Hurricane Michael took a toll on this area, but the base and FamCamp are rebuilding. Not nearly as shaded as it used to be, we really enjoyed our stay. So much to do in this area, we had a great time. We recommend this FamCamp, not as a destination, but as a pivot point for enjoying all that Panama City and the Gulf Coast have to offer. Peace.

Operating hours are Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, closed Saturday and Sunday.

Tyndall Fam Camp has the gravel roads, level concrete RV pads, covered picnic tables, cable tv, sewage, dump station, gazebo, fire pit, and a recreation building. The community building is equipped with a pool table, a ping pong table, laundry room and restrooms with showers. Bulk LP gas is also available on location.
All sites are $50 daily, $300 weekly, $800 monthly.
There are 100 RV campsites with E/W/S/CATV. Overflow has E/W/S.
Length of stay is 90 days and you can call 90 days in advance for reservations.
Active duty, retirees, DAV, and DOD are authorized to stay in the park.
We have three 2-bedroom furnished cabins. The fee for rental of the cabins is $125.00 daily and $650.00 weekly.

It used to be known as Raptor Ranch and was very lush, with plenty of shade. But Hurricane Michael changed all that in 2018. Now, in its reconstructive phase, the Tyndall AFB FamCamp is open to retirees again. Plan your next trip to the Panama City Beach area with a stay at this great military RV park.
I'm not saying I'm old, but I remember single wide trailers to "camp" in back in the 70s.
We are headed there this coming we. As a child we were stationed there on the post and live in Calloway.
Same here, Kathryn!! My daddy was stationed at Tyndall several times. My sister and I were born there. Something in my very soul keeps me returning to the Gulf. What a great review of this park! It’s got so many facilities one would almost hate to leave! I especially love that you get a paved site and a covered picnic table. It’s sad to hear of all of the distraction with the hurricane, but it looks like they’ve done a great job every building.

You stated 100% only which is incorrect.

You got your directions confused. Mexico Beach is east of Tyndall. Tyndall is East of Panama City. West is where the sun sets.
We think Scott went SCUBA diving there in the 90s. He almost applied for a job there when it reopened after the storm.

Most of the FAMCAMPS (Army, Navy and Air Force) have had extremely high price hikes in the past year or so. I think someone in DC made the decision that the revenue from the Famcamps needs to be increased to help with funding shortfalls on the other MWR Programs. They are not nearly the "good deal" that they were 2-3 years ago!
Wow crazy a veteran that's not at 100% disabled cant use the park.
This is BULL CRAP as they say you have to be a special person to stay , my self being a honorable discharge US ARMY veteran with no problems with health and not being a retired soldier have no rights to any of the military bases to enter. After two years of my military career in which I was drafted but proudly served we have no rights to stay at any military bases. I write this article not just for me but all of the others veterans out there. ?? I S THIS FAIR TO Exclude us ???
There are 22 million vets like you and I. Not enough room for all of us. I have access because I work for a DOD contractor with the proper access. We love camping on military bases.
