@@BoombapArt always inspired, just frustrated with how easy you make it look. I'm still struggling to with time stretching on the Machine MK3.
@colebuckhart4545 once you find a good sample everything often falls into place. I’ve time stretched maybe ones or twice in 27 years, I’ve focused on getting the pitch right to the BPM I want, but it’s a back and forth game. If I find a pitch I like but it’s still not fitting I’m taking out my magic wand and put some samples In between. 😁
@@BoombapArt that's super helpful. I started with doing everything in Ableton and easily time stretching, but felt like it was restricting chop creativity, but Ableton isn't built for sampling the way the machine is
There’s like a circle of stages when it comes to sampling (my invention 😂).. and once you go full circle you’re a master. Maybe should make a weird in depth video about it. The game changer for me was the MK3, even tho I used the same principles since I started chopping records. The MK3 is quick and it’s easy to go back and adjust samples on the fly. I tried Ableton a few times, but it never resonated with me. I don’t see time stretching as cheating, just a tool to get the results you want. I’m happy with my results I get without it.. so imma keep it that way.

@@Mental_Kitchen I*m happy with the outcome, and it didn't take hours, more like a couple of minutes 😊.. That's something iv'e learned during my 27 years of beatmaking, if it takes too long to put together a first draft it's time to move on and find another sample.

Dope! Goes hard when the accapella kicks in! The ADSR as a cut off is a real time saver, I've been duplicating chops (in one shot mode) then trimming but this way is more efficient! Nice one! 👊
Thanks! 👊🏻 At first I did the same, but quickly found out that I could have a longer sample and play it as two. I prefer this way of doing it.. and using ADSR in general, and doing it that way I don’t need any choke groups and I can layering my samples as I like.
@@BoombapArt I'm gonna put this into practice as I put everything into choke group 1 by default then have to work round it. Then everything as one-shot as ADSR was that 'annoying stock setting for the sampler' everything has its purpose, you live and learn! Thanks again, peace!

Thanks a lot 👊🏻 I don’t deal with the copyrighted music, I just sample and manipulate it so it’s not recognizable. Rarely longer loops. Sure, it’s a risk. The best options would be royalty free samples or use a service like Tracklib if you’re planning on releasing.

@@micromantis_net My drinks (guessing you’re meaning drums) comes from either a kit by Coleman Beats (Boombap Flava kit) or Execute beats (Calling The Shots). Both are great 👍🏻

Thanks. I think it’s my favorite bass I use 99% of the time from massive and the preset is called “just bass”. I do a bit of EQing as I go and slap a limiter at the end.. that’s my mixing/mastering technique 😅

Haha😂🤣🤣, so cool, others make mixing and mastering a science and you do the basics of basic and have better results than some producers or beatmakers. Which limiter do you use? Do you prefer to produce standalone or sometimes with the software? In standalone, whether machine or mpc, you are limited, I think. Thank you for the Info btw🙏
@psychomatic8781 I do pretty much everything standalone these days. I use Maschine Plus most of the time and I use the limiter that comes with it, and all the other stuff I use like filter, reverb, compressor, EQ.. all stock!

Dope! How do you get the chops set up in each bank so easily? I have a maschine mikro and it seems hard to get all my chops right. Also setting the BPM.. i can never get it right unless i use a drum kit with bpm already set. But i like this channel 🔥
Thanks 👊🏻 I only use one bank for my chops across 16 pads. It’s much easier to chop, trim and edit samples with the MK3, it’s doable with the Mikro but a bit more tedious. The BPM can be tricky depending on the sample and its original pitch/speed.. but that’s a back and forth game making everything fit, the project bpm and pitch the samples to make them fit. Sometimes you need to adjust the project bpm slightly and test the samples again. Trial and error!

Nothing special, a micro sd 64gb with an adapter. No issues.
@@BoombapArt Oh for real how many mb per second is it cause I just bought a 128gb micro card that 96mb per second and wanted to know if thats fast enough . Thanks for the response .
@@philtyrich1 I think it’s just a basic micro sd with 80-90mb speed. A no name brand. It’s a class 10, it says V30 on it. 😬🤷🏼♂️

I thought that or a operating system issue was why my maschine plus started freezing up on me and crashing on and that's why I sold it and got a mpc live 2 but after bout a month I took it right back to the store wasn't feeling that joint . So last week I saw Maschine Plus at a local shop and picked it up cause I missed the sound quality and work the expansion library can't be touched . So far no crashing or freezing up .
I heard some people had issues with freezing and cpu problems when it came, but I was a bit late to the party, almost a year and I haven’t had any problems really. I think I’ve had like 2-3 times freezing but nothing else.

I think I get the question, sounds like you’re interested in doing some automation. I rarely do automations or add effects when structuring my beats, but let say I wanted a certain effect for a bride I would probably resample that part internally with the fx and make a pattern with just that part. I’m sorry if I can’t be more helpful.

One time, for a Biggie acapella I used. It’s a risk every time I upload using samples, but I try not to show that much, and I always sample in 45rpm.. and I rarely use long loops, I’m a micro chopper.

That depends on what you want to do. Make beats using VSTs, chop samples? One easy way to get started is to get familiar with their Expansions and mess around with these kits.
