    I'm a Heat fan and born in the late 90s, so I never experienced the Knicks-Heat days. To me, the Celtics have always been the team I hate the most and also the biggest challenge in the East. We had battles with Detroit, Chicago, Indiana but the Celtics have always remained the consistently great team in the conference. It's why the Heat-Celtics playoff matchups have always resulted in that year's NBA Finals team. You gotta give credit to franchises that always manage to stay on top, and when they are rebuilding don't tank and don't stay down for long. Ofc Miami has won 3 titles to Boston's 1...

      "I hate the Celtics, but it's out of respect." Is the PERFECT way to describe our rivalry, as a Celtics fan I think that's spot on. Even with the Lakers it's hard to view them as modern rivals because we've rarely been great at the same time.

    In my opinion the best modern rivalry in the NBA. Theres just so much depth and complexity to it. Its definitely one that gets deeper and deeper the more you look into it and being a Celtics fan, its just that much more prevelent. Always a little sweeter when we beat the Heat, and always a little extra bitter when we dont. Awesome video, and this wasnt even covering all the off the court drama and things that were said by (mostly Paul lol) but KG, Wade, Lebron has said some things, Ray Allen situation and everything thats been said by members of these two teams since retirement.

    I gotta say when it comes to sports there’s not much shit more motivating than LeBron’s game 6 performance. There’s never been an NBA player under more pressure in my life than LeBron in that game. Like his whole career looked like it was building up a legacy defining failure; everything the dude had spent his life working towards up to that point appeared to be ending in total embarrassment (and this was at the height of the Heatles hate when the majority of NBA fans were chomping at the bit to see him fail). The point is if he can go out there and have the best moment of his career under all that weight and pressure then I can go out and there and do some mundane bullshit I’m scared of too

    • @deadprecidents
      @deadprecidents Год назад +3

      Definitely the highest pressure performance in terms of legacy ever. No one has ever been propped up to challenge Jordan (and Jordan didn’t have the pressure of being the GOAT when he started). He would have an 0-2 finals record, and 2 years with the heat that he left the Cavs (and was scorned for as a hometown hero) to accomplish nothing. DWade started declining shortly after. It’s very conceivable that they don’t beat the 13 spurs without this first championship. It’s just how he did it though, not only was it an insanely efficient and completely dominating all time playoff performance, but he just coldly knocked down jump shot after jump shot and vicious dunks. It’s just demoralizing.

      The amount of conference finals they've been too...
      If three seasons from now they haven't won 2 championships, basketball heads are going have to ask themselves,
      "How good were Tatum and Brown REALLY?" 🤷‍♂️

    I’m glad that you mentioned that this rivalry started in 2010, I was a huge D. Wade fan growing up, I hated the Celtics so much back then and I truly believe that both losses handed by the Celtics to the Heat and Cavs that Playoffs was pivotal to LeBron’s jump to South Beach.
