Tae Kennedy is a personal friend of mine, very proud of what he’s been able to do with Craigmont but everywhere he’s taught he’s created a program. His energy is very charismatic and raw! I know he recently just got married so it’s good to see him doing great things. I’ve been a fan of Tae ever since the DICB days in Detroit, he’s done great work with Michigan Elite as well, took them down south with NO PERCUSSION SECTION and STILL brung the house down! Detroit breeds MONSTERS in the band culture! 💯

I dont live in New Orleans, I live in Maryland. I'm one of the snare drummers for the band(but I was the only one when we got to parade season). Craigmont reminds me of my school. We may not be the biggest band in our county, but we have the drive and discipline. And the way how we march in our county, no one else does. Craigmont got the dub. It aint about size, its about power.
Carver vs Abramson battle was a another good one @ that same parade. Also, don't slip on Mr. Collins and his John Ehret Patriots band, they battled Craigmont as well.

I’m an avid band watcher. I have to say the smaller band had very well written arrangements. Karr is clearly the better band but the smaller band put on a better show. The band director was very animated which added to the excitement. Karr simply over powered then and are the more skilled band. Smaller band played a lot of cranking songs high energy and highlighted they strength l.
The director is a former SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY BAND MEMBER. SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY SPONSORS STUDENTS WITH SCHOLARSHIPS.I can’t remember the song but it’s a NOLA fight game song for pump up. I first heard the way you normally hear Thong Song played by Marching Bands from George Washington Carver around 2000. Back then it was directed by Wilbert Rawlins who was on his second gig in a powerhouse band program. It was the band song that shook the block for a few years. Well this and Can You Feel It, which Carver also had a powerful arrangement of.

Carver's Band Director, Mr. French, wrote a high school version of Thong Song in the late 90's. Check out "G.W. Carver Band 2005".
It's the same arrangement that Karr and other schools in New Orleans plays. Miles College has the same arrangement as well.
