In the newest storyline(3.01) merope does show concern when they talk about wonder’s past visions. For me I think she is being held hostage and forced to do jobs for fake igor, since I have counted there are 8 floors of mementos instead of 7(like luffy talked about),so she lost her desires and eyes become Grey. And for marthym I think she the Jose of p5x. (Also please make a theory about the snakes in mementos, and its connection with wonder’s vision, mine is that every time he resets the timeline, another one of the snakes appear.)
oooo that's a pretty interesting theory about Merope. I guess the fake Igor could be like a super Phantom who is so powerful that he was able to rob the desires of a velvet room attendant. Also, A theory about those snakes does sound pretty interesting. I'll start thinking about it and see if I can whip up a good theory! Hopefully I can think of some good ideas, thanks for the suggestion!
I'm unsure if Merope is supposed to be One Who Rules Over Power like the other attendants. Since P5R and P5X have the same writers, I feel, like it could be a deeper pull back to the original Personas, where Merope is someone who simply lives in or around the room like Belladonna, Nameless or the Demon Painter (the latter of whom is entirely human). Heck, even in P4 Marie ended up in the room simply because she was lost and without memories (and also not exactly bound to just reality because of her true identity as a non-human), so who is to say that Merope is not similar? Her outfit and hair may be attendant-like, but her additional powers manifesting persona duos could hint at her being a completely other type of being who resides within the collective unconscious. Maybe she was manipulated into her current role, or maybe she took it up as a form of new experience that aligns with her interest in idols. Maybe she's like Jose, and she's innocently working for someone mysterious behind the scenes. Anything is still possible.
haha yeah i guess anything really is possible for Merope. I also really love the idea of the writers referencing the old games by possibly making Merope similar to those old velvet room dwellers. If she really was being manipulated into doing her job then it would explain why she's working for the suspicious Igor in the first place.
I think it’s a good theory. I don’t believe that it’s fully true, but ideas that you’ve mentioned like Merope being hella suspicious and longing for connection sound very plausible
lol, yeah I feel like I would have a better chance at winning the lottery than my theory being 100% true😭 Also, thanks for the compliments about my theory! Hearing this gives me a bit more confidence in my ability to make things like this 🙂
Hey do agree with you, I do think it will be revealed that this game’s version of Igor is fake just like his Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal’s version. I also really like your videos! I hope you can consider making more Persona 5: The Phantom X Lore videos/Lore Theories videos!
Thanks so much for the support! It makes me so happy that you enjoy my videos!! I hope I can continue to share my enjoyment of this game with you and other people who decide to watch my videos♥ Also, I'm totally going to make more theories about P5X in the future. I had tons of fun while making this video so I'm sure I'll have a lot more fun with other theories.
What if Merope works for Yaldabaoth or whatever is the final boss, but at the end she realizes that the final boss doesn't care about her at all but Wonder on the other hand does, so at the end of story she betrays the final boss and helps Wonder and the other phantom thieves. Atlus already did something similar in Persona 4 golden with Marie being the sister of Izanami the final boss of that game. I think this can happen because her social link is not a story social link like Yaldabaoth was persona 5 and 5 royal and it is a real social link that shows her personality instead of telling you every few hours that a you are doing a good job with your rehabilitation, Yaldabaoth was just an evil final boss and not really a character but Merope is an actual character
Exactly! Merope's actions seem very genuine, the player is shown that she is an actual character unlike Yaldabaoth in P5. If Merope really turns out to be a good person, then I could totally see her betraying the final boss of P5X. But I'm still a bit suspicious of her since 😅
True, he doesn't have golden eyes and no references to Frankenstein If she's among the Confidants, shouldn't she have a Phantom version as well as a Cognitive one? I've known the Persona games since 3... in the team there's mainly an animal and a non-human girl... In Greek mythology, Merope was a goddess who abandons everything for the love of a human... Sisyphus, a deceitful and cunning king I won't say how she's depicted in a famous painting... I just think that if Wonder is used as a fishing rod for monsters and allies... if he gets caught, he'll have to dive in and free him
i have theory about wonder parents i think they are doctor maruki and rumi because she have red hair and her pain was stolen by maruki . idk i was thinking about this and wanted to share with some one . do you think it something worth deep dive into this theory or not
Oh yeah, this theory could be possible! Some people have theorized that the P5X universe is an alternate universe where Dr Maruki won, so him and Rumi being Wonder's parents would actually be pretty cool. But to be honest, so little is known about Wonder's parents so it's pretty hard to have any discussion about them. We honestly don't even know if they have any importance to the story at the moment too 😭😭
Parents are the minor part of the games. I suggested that after finishing the game or defeating the main enemy, there is an extra part like Royal.. in the original P5 there are 8 Phantoms, in X there are 3 missing, given the places in the Cattle auto and with the collaborative events with P5, there is a Royal linked to Maruki, which unites the two realities, the real Kasumi will be in the X world and clashes with Sumire in the Palace.. bringing her to reason, in a version of Cinderella before the Grimm she has a golden dress and shoes
Also adds an interesting yet sad layer to Wonder's dynamic with Joker, too Cause Maruki sees Joker as his *validator;* the other person telling him that his ideals are good, even if his methods are absolutely heinous, and he's *constantly* trying to get Joker's approval to steadily declining degrees. So if Wonder's his kid... It's possible Joker might be filling a similar one-sided role for him, too. Like a more naive reflection of Maruki. It'd explain the awkward "rivalry" between them, as well as that cutscene where they're fighting each other and Wonder seems "off."
is marthym named after a character in frankenstein? i didn't hear any mentions of it in the video so i assume not but i'm quite curious because if so, your theory is likely true
Sadly there aren't any characters in Frankenstein named Marthym. To be honest, I couldn't find any origins for the name "Marthym" 😭My wild guess is that "Marthym" wasn't her original name, it was a name she took on after her memory was erased. But I feel like I'm grasping at straws with that one LOL. I guess we'll find learn about her origins in the future.

Bro if we have to fight Merope at the end of the game we’re cooked
I feel like she's going to be Elizabeth but on crack in terms of difficulty
