- We are starting on the next build. A 1969 Dodge crewcab Sweptline Camper Special. This truck came originally with a 383, but the motor was junk, and we thought it would be cool to put a 5.9 12 valve Cummins in it instead. Today we will be stripping the first gen and then taking it for a drive. Enjoy!
Cummins-powered Go cart! 🤣👍
Yessir!
My kind of video I eat sleep dream Cummins swps
Well make sure to subscribe then! We are going to do a full build series!
Awesome burnout machine!
One wheel peel! Doesn’t do to bad, will be a lot better after some injectors.
I would just cut the bed down to fit the frame , after you get the 4 door cab mounted.
The wheel well would be right after the cab. Also the long beds are kind of rare and would like to keep it that original look other than the chassis and motor.
I added you on Facebook if you're looking to do a flip down hood I have a few different ones saved that others have done. Assuming they ran into the same problems.
Okay cool! Thanks
Hey guys, I wouldn’t kill your selves trying to graft firewalls. Old body on newer frame and vintage air.
Your welcome. 🤣
We will see, so far the plan is still to change out the firewall. A lot of measuring and planning so far, no action yet.
Awesome looking project. Definitely going to be following this! What did you do with the beat up original sweptline bed? I'm needing to stretch mine about 5" for a project as well, so I need some of the body lines from the box!
Appreciate the support, going to be an awesome build! That bed is actually gone, we do have another sitting around though. What section of it do you need?
@@RealSteelFabrications Going to be doing a long bed swap onto a 73-93 150 frame. Total wheel base difference is around 3" longer, so I'm going to lengthen the bed some. Needing any part of each side that will help keep the sweptline line straight. Ill send ya a message with my number on Instagram and we can send some pics back and forth to figure out what would work best.
I need that stock frame from the crew cab if your not going to use it
We were going to cut it to get the metal we need to stretch the other. Are you willing to travel to Missouri for it? We can try to figure something else out so we don’t have to cut it up if so.
Just talked to my dad, the frame will be for sale
Yea I have family outside of Saint Louis my dad can pick it up just need a price and time he can pick it up
@@adamputman2316 okay cool, I believe I sent you a PM on Facebook, can talk details. Thanks!
Yes you did
Alright just to let you know A 318 is nowhere near a big block It is 100% a small block
What? It had a 383 big block in the Sweptline…
