The problem is, it comes down to who owns the rights to the music and that's sadly the industry. I love Brian but this all came down to contracts all the way back then. Yeah its one of the most played songs at Christmas every year and probably will be for a long time, it would piss me off if I didn't make any money from it too.
I grew up with E17 you were by far my favourite, best looking best voice and most real. It’s horrible all these years later how things have turned out Brian and I won’t say it’s not made me sad because it has. I’m sure I’m not the only fan to feel the same way. It’s true. Since Brian left, E17 did a kamikaze act. When they reformed without Mortimer with Each Time, it was a hit. When they split up again and Tony reformed the group without Brian, again, they flopped. Without Brian, E17 are nobodies.
Each Time didn't do well enough. They got dropped after that Album so Brian went solo and got dropped again , then after having trashed Mortimer's writing all that time Brian got back with Terry and John and performed all Tony's songs for whatever dosh they could get. The 2012 album was a fail because a condition was all 3 guys writing equally and they had Blaire Dreelan on board which caused a massive legal issue where they had to bin a whole album, they then had to rush an album and you have John and Terry on equal writing duties with Tony and Tony having lost loads of confidence in his ability to write after years of undermining. Brian's voice isn't enough to salvage music without good tracks
