- HI all,
here is a review of the power washer Aquatak 120 from Bosch that I grabbed whilst on sale at SuperCheap Auto for $100.
I was considering the purchase of a Karcher but when this came up at the right price, I grabbed one.
Let's find out if it was 100 bucks well spent .

ive got a Bosch for 15 years, does the job, very happy with it :)
That was really helpful, thank you. You covered exactly what I needed to know.
Interesantísimo reporte. Muy ilustrativo y práctico! Gracias.🇪🇦
Cheers for the review fella. Im gonna get one. Cheers.
right welcome fella, no probs at all .
How does the detergent nozzle open so i can put it detergent? I can’t seem to figure it would without breaking git.
Thanks mate, great review, gonna buy one from SCA tomorrow, they have a sale on pressure washers ATM
Welcome liyo. Definitely a better deal when on sale thats for sure. . very bloody handy they are.
Hey mate what attachment(s if more than one) are you using on the paint portions of the car? And how far are you holding the gun from the car please?
Saw some other videos on RUclips where the rotary attachment is taking paint off the car. Cheers
Mine just arrived but I'm hesitant to try. First time using a pleasure washer on the car
Good stuff mate, I love the channeling of Ferris Buellers Day Off there. Cheers Steve
Everyone loves ferris
Good review. $160 here in New Zealand. Think I'll get one this week.
hello,
the washer can absorb water from a plastic bucket?
thx.
Thnxs I have bought one I cant wait 👍
no worries data, let me know what you think, once you've hosed everything down :)
Now with water restrictions, you will need the self priming kit, so you can use a bucket of water to spray the exact same amount of water you were going to use if you attached to a garden hose.
yeah mark, they do say we can use a bucket. nice pick up.
great, comprehensive review....
Thanks Mike. I've just been over checking out your channel and sub'd .
I'll be checking out your camera related videos for some tips.
cheers for the comment.
@@DENMONKEY Thank you, very much appreciated. Best of luck I'll be stopping by your channel also
Cheers from Canada, just found this review as I'm about to pull the trigger on this purchase lol... Was a little hard to find the review as this unit is not known as the Aquatak 120 here, but the Aquatak 1700 (I guess PSI is more important in North America?) great review, I'll be grabbing one of these mainly to use for basically what you used yours... mainly Car washing, wall and concrete cleaning as well as the wooden deck on the back of our place.
You're welcome from Australia. thanks for the tip on the name. I'll stick it in the tags to make it easier to finds under that name.
I have no idea why they do that with names. surely some marketing guru decided that would make for more sales.
As mentioned in the vid, grab the extra hose extension if you can and save yourself the backside pain of moving it around. Are they well priced in Canadia ?
@@DENMONKEY I'm from Canada and yes... they call it aquatak 1700. price is 179.99$ CDN that's like 190$ AUD. In my province, if you add federal + provincial taxes the prices goes from 179 to 205$ cdn. Excellent video you made!
Thanks Rob, I'll add that to the tags. I got lucky with the bargain at $100. Glad I grabbed it when I did. Cheers.
Thanks! I'm sold.
No worries jay
Just bought it, thanks for the video mate don't worry about that top lip bugger 😂 it happens to the best of us
Thanks Mircea :) at least it wasn't a real booger
Thank you, very useful
Welcome
It works fine for me around 9 months. The motor should run if we press the trigger in the gun. But when I used it yesterday the motor keeps on running without the trigger control. I don't know what happened? Any solution?
No idea I'm afraid. It's the a leak in the hose somewhere and the water is going through causing the pump to keep running?
great review mate, how come you didn't use the flat spray to clean the steps as it would've been quicker?
the real reason..this was the one I had on at the time :)
Plus I was keen to test this nozzle out. I'd see some videos on a car carpet cleaning tool that had a similar head that did that same round and round motion, so I was keen to see what it did.
When I did my other steps etc (not in the video) I use the flat head.
You're spot on, it does make it quicker. Especially for bigger areas .
Often I will have heaps of footage but not everything gets into the video to keep it down to a normal size.
So I sometimes have to be a bit brutal with cutting stuff out, I tend to talk a lot.
thanks for the compliment.
cheers Bret
I purchased a Bosch EasyAquatak 120. However it was missing the lance that connects between the trigger and the spray nozzle. Anyone know where one would be available.
No idea mate sorry. My contact from bosch left, so I can't ask for you.
Did you ever manage to source a longer hose? Even a 10m length would be a big improvement.
Thanks for the review.
Funny you should ask. I was having trouble finding one on the shelf that I could buy. However, only last week whilst on Amazon, I spotted these amzn.to/3lTQAXR
The originals are only like a 6m extension but these are a replacement (not extension) but can be had in 10 and 15m lengths. I haven't ordered one just yet but will be soon. Will do a video on it when it arrives. Having to spend money on xmas presents for the time being :)
how would you use this on concrete that got discolored due to plants on pots? i tried it and didn't remove the colour? will have to try on our driveway before I return but i suspect it's because we just moved to our new digs and the concrete is still pretty clean
I'd say you're going to need chemicals to get that clean.
Great review. What is the proper way to drain after use? Is it okay to pull the trigger with the motor on, after turning off the water? For a few seconds that is. Or is it not supposed to run without water?
Thanks Mate, I've done that myself too by accident but I try not to. This one doesn't self prime like some of the bigger models, where you can place the hose in a bucket etc and pull water from there. . To drain it, I just turn it off and pull the trigger to let the pressure run out. Once you disconnect the hose any remaining water just comes out.
@@DENMONKEY That helps a lot. Good to know you don't need to turn it on. Much appreciated for the response.
I have this model of bosch pressure washer.
But when I press the trigger, machine runs sometimes water doesn't comes out.
Can you solve this problem.
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have turned your water supply on at the tap, otherwise it will run by no water will come through. Even if you don't turn on the unit, but apply water pressure and turn the tap on, water should come out of the end. Make sure you have all of your connecting seated well. That's all I can suggest. Good luck
Hello. Good review. Just wonder, is noise can be annoying others a lot? Thank you
No mate. It isn't loud enough to annoy anyone near by
I appreciate your company BOSCH
cheers
Good review...thinking buying one of this. Cheers from Portugal.
Hi Joao,, thanks for checking in from portugal.
I'm using it almost every weekend around the yard. I'm still very happy with it for the price.
Thanks for the review. Same issue as you with the hose length but it should do what I need for it to do. I have found an adapter for Karcher foam gun on amazon, did I hear you in the beginning of the video say that it comes with the Karcher adapter in the box?
Hey Martin,
yes you sure did. I've been on ebay looking for the snow cannon but need to make sure I get the right one with the karcher connection.
@@DENMONKEY Well I ordered one on Amazon and if it works, I can share the information. As I already have a foam canon from my old pressure washer, the problem is that is has the 1/4" quick connect. I'll pass along the info once I have recieved the parts.
Thanks again
Yes mate. It's appreciate that very much
Well I got it and it fits perfectly. Mingle Pressure Washer Gun Adapter to 1/4'' Quick Connect Fitting Fit Most Brands (Black and Decker) from Amazon . ca, I'm unsure if .com or any other country offers that specific one. But it was the "Black and Decker #2 adapter" which fit out Bosch pressure washer. The bosch # adapter is for the big brothers or sisters of our mini pressure washers and I can confirm that the one I have mentioned fits just right. I also use the MATCC Upgrade Foam Cannon, Improved Foam Nozzle Pressure Washer Jet Wash Fit 1/4" Quick Connector Foam Blaster 0.22 Gallon Bottle Snow Foam Lance with it and the comb is great.
Hope this helps!
That' sure does. Thanks very much for info. I'll have to snag one myself. Cheers for the effort
Hi mate, how does it perform when used on the wheel wells of your Pajero especially when you came from offroad trails? Have you also tried different foam bottles for more Foamy car shampoo suds? Nice Pajero by the way! Would appreciate the answer. TIA!
Hey Cal,
That's where it does it's best work up under the wheel arches.
Have to be a little careful though, to be sure not to get the wiring around the ABS and stuff, but perfect for under there and cleaning up the bash plates and all that stuff.
Haven't tried any other cleaner as yet.
Still need to grab one of those snow cannons and try it out.
cheers mate
@@DENMONKEY Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it! Good to hear! How does it perform on the body? It doesn't damage the body of the vehicle itself? (Due to strong pressure)
Am planning to buy one soon for DIY washing also.
great one. I just bought one at Easter as well. Do you know the foam canon on ebay the joint same as the bosch ?(1/4)?
Ooh. Good question. I'm guessing it's a Karcher connection which is in the box with this unit. But I tell you what, I'll order one tonight on ebay and let ya know when it arrives... Of course ill do a video too
I bought the 1/4joint one bottle and it does not fit the Bosch washer. It might need adaptor. But there are heaps of adaptor on eBay. No clue which one will be fit
How did everyone go with the connection for the foam cannon?
@@DENMONKEY hi! I ordered this Bosch and I would like to buy a better foam cannon.. which ones fit to this bosch mashine? there are hundreds on Amazon and I dont know which one fits. Thank you!
How does the detergent bottle open please , dont want to break it
The one that comes with the unit?
Will this work connecting to a water bucket instead of a faucet?
The bigger ones do definitely but it wasn't listed on the packaging. That said the filter kit that is used to do that has this model listed on the box. I haven't tested it myself though.
Do the bosch patio cleaner attachments work on this?
Not sure mate but I think so. There are a heap of attachments for it and I'm sure a patio cleaner was one of them. What the model number is etc I don't know
I received my pressure washer ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP over the weekend and decided to wait for the sun to come out before firing it up. Was needed to clean the deck. Our last pressure washer broke a couple of seasons ago, and I just hadn't replaced it yet. This one had great comments, so here we are. It was easy to assemble, and the trigger wand is comfortable and easy to hold for long periods of time. The pressure washer worked great and made quick work of the "TN North side algae" that inevitably grows every year. I also washed all of the deck furniture while I was at it... it all looks great! So far I am happy with this purchase. I plan to climb the ladder to wash siding over the next couple of days, will update if I have anything else to add after that!
I have a Karcher with same cord issues, always worried about the power and the water,
If I stop making videos, you know what happened :)
Great review sir. Im planning to get one, how is it now after a year? Still working fine? Cheers.
Used it just last weekend to do the driveway. 😁
is it working till now?
@@ayame19delyende6 it has 3y warranty
why are you storing it in the box? everything literally clips on to the main device.
what can I say, I like to collect boxes :) Plus it has info on it in case any one asks questions that I may need to refer to it for and pics of the bits I might want to buy later
I purchased a 15m hose & a pro trigger and proper snow foam bottle.
Works 100 times better
Idefo need that 15m hose.ni also have the foamee now. Sooooooo much more foam
Is your chemical actually foam wash though?
I'm about to buy this, but dont want to fork out for another attachment for the foam lol
No the stuff I used in that wasn't proper foam wash. That said when I used the same fluid in the foam gun it worked a treat and foamed up nice.
@@DENMONKEY Thanks!
Very good review
I have tried gen cleaning liq soap
Foams better than what you did
Tried putting water and mixing it well?
This is the upgrade from aquatak 33-11
Which i had and didnt last long
Replaced it with the aquatak 100 with
The short spray gun better for washing the car
But not with house cleaning im thinking abt
Getting the 120 have anyone here compared it with the 33-11
Thanks but haven't tried the others but did notice they had a 130 there on the weekend that I had a look at. Bit bigger and is an upright set up. Price is a bit more than the 100 I paid for this one.
For the price range
Yes the 120 is just right
For home and car use
Id advise getting the short gun
For car use its a lot more
Convenient than the lance
While the lance is best for home cleaning
Youre right They shouldve made the hose
Longer and the convertible to lance or short gun
I guess they make us choose which
Will be using it on primarily
Thanks James, i didn't know there was a short gun to be had. I shall check that out, might look to get one when I get the hose extension :)
James, I can see supercheap has 3 units that all look much the same and I can't tell much for looking at the pics.
The 33-11 is $79 weights 4kg and does 11bar at 330l/h, the aquatak 100 is $120 doe s100 bar and 300l/h no weight listed and the 120 is $140 does 120bar and 350l/h at 5kg.
All this info was taken off the supercheap website here in Australia. Would you notice the difference for 60 bucks. I really don't know. I did get my 120 for $100 when on sale, so keep an eye out there.
Bosch will also be sending out a 135 soon which I'll get a chance to test. It's a bigger unit again and more expensive. For the size though and without trying the bigger unity, I'm very happy with the 120 for the stuff I've used it for.
Thats a good price for the 120
You got it less than aq100 nice
Yes i bet the 120 is a nice unit
Better than my 3311
Try getting a spray gun like that of
A aq100 for auto cleaning .
Ive tried switching the spray guns with
The 3311 and 100 i think the
120 IS the best so far
Among the 3models with basically
The same body
3 weeks after owning it and love it so far... Just wish the hose for the gun was longer, now I need to find a foam cannon since the soap attachment is useless. 🤔
Excellent. Thanks for posting. I think the soap attachment probably wastes more than it should. Didn't do much of a foam job. Yes, that hose length is a definite annoyance
Can I run this of 10 gallon water tank?
it seems so yes, I was of the opinion only the larger models were self priming but I found this which shows this model with the self priming "kit", personally I'd say just make one up yourself. anyway, see this link on how to use it ruclips.net/video/k9TyGeuhCrk/видео.html
I own one found the same thing the hose needs to be longer plus the power cord apart from that never had a problem with it. Touch Wood...
yeah David, I think just a little longer in both areas would make it all that much more usable. but who doesn't want for more length ?
Do you think I can use for my roof?
I don't see why not
try it
Ahh buts got a proprietary output connection. So hooking up M22 are problematic. So no go for me.
the foam cannons that comes with the pressure washer will never do a proper job if you want that cool foam effect you have to get a foam cannon and grab them off ebay or something as they will do the same thing as the expensive ones maybe just without some fancy features
got that right. I was hopeful though. I got a foamee snow cannon a little while back . ruclips.net/video/IziE4Y2kn20/видео.html theres the review . much much better
I think you don't use the right soap. We need to use a soap that have a lot of foaming agent. Like ultra foam or foaming soap... Cheers from Quebec!
hey Mon, I have some new foaming soap and you're right. it makes all the difference. Gday to Quebec :)
Storage for any of the washers is a pain...
gonna need a bigger shed
Had these on Amazon for 119.00 free post, then a few hours later they went back to 139.00. Now they have the next model up for only 144.00 free post (219.00 in Supercheap Auto)

thanks heaps Mark.Very useful. I still need to get me an extension hose.
@@DENMONKEY The link I provided for the foam cannon was the wrong one, that won't fit the Bosh Aquatak as it claims, perhaps a different or older model. I found that out the hard way. This one is the one that fits www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pressure-Washer-Snow-Foam-Snowfoam-Adaptor-Adapter-Fitting-Cannon-Lance-Gun/123606898892?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=424183488775&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 . I have the Universal Aquatak 125 and that adapter fits that as well as the bottle I purchased which is the same as all the generic models sold on eBay. Works well. The extension hose is a must.
The only drawback, the stock hose is too short
I agree 100%
@@DENMONKEY have you ever tried using 3rd party foam cannon with it?
How's it holding up?
I sent this unit out as a giveaway but the other larger unit I have of the same brand is still going strong without issue
@@DENMONKEY got any idea on what type of motor it is? Carbon brushed or brushless.
@@bernardjameswilson I'd be guessing brushless but purely a guess
Boush is a brand that I respect very much ,,, has used its high quality products ,,, but this pump is the worst product that has been manufactured !!!
thanks for the comment , but I'm not gonna let you get away with such a comment without telling me why :)
What makes you say that and what happened ?
cheers Brett
@@DENMONKEY Very dangerous, water hose is very short and the electrical charge does not come out of the device even after disconnecting the plug from the pump.
@@DENMONKEY The soap box is not fixed, and it is always separated from the water pistol.
@@DENMONKEY Water gun is impractical, its range is not more than one meter.
Excellent. Thanks mate, that was what I was after. The shirt just length bigger me but I haven't had issues with any of the other stuff.
Cheers for expanding on your comment.
GO ahead, contamine the groundwater.
Thanks Mr eco worrior. I'm all over it. Cheers
Go ahead environmental villain
I also pee out in the back yard if you care to comment on that.
I can piss a higher pressure than that.
Think of the money you will save then. Not sure if the smell would be an improvement though.
