  • While I had the opportunity, as a Nothing Insider, to use a prototype of the (2a) the last few months, I purchased one directly from Nothing and I've been using the (2a) as my main primary phone. I have plenty of thoughts to share so let's dive right in!

      Right now depending on pricing I’d say go 2a if you can, they’re very similar but 2a is less $ making it even better value overall.

    Works fine on att and T-Mobile

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  5 месяцев назад

      Works well but not everywhere. It's missing a lot of the bands even on T-Mobile and AT&T, but if you don't travel much, stay around wifi most of the time, then it's a non-issue. However in many areas where I get perfect service on Samsung, Google, OnePlus, Apple, Xiaomi devices, and even Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2), I lost service completely on the Phone (2a) consistently in those same areas. Heck in some larger stores like Target, I often would lose signal altogether as well on the (2a) unfortunately. Seen this both on the prototype I had since December and also seen this on this retail unit.

    Hello im deciding to buy this but i feel like black is better but wherever i go people only have white i doubt if white is that good but black looks cool from fron as the bezels and black outline makes it look rlly devent but black plus white back is rlly not my cup of tea imo.

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  5 месяцев назад

      Makes sense, to each their own for sure. The black in my opinion in person isn't as detailed unless the light hits it a certain way so you really lose out on the transparent look. Also it collects a ton of fingerprints. So for me I went with the Milk (white) version which hides fingerprints completely and while you do have the white/black bezels I barely notice in everyday usage.

      @AseesCr7. 5 месяцев назад

      @@drewlipps is it true that the black one catches more scratches or is it just a myth

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  5 месяцев назад

      Not sure if that's totally true but I do know for sure fingerprints / marks in general do show like immediately upon unboxing. It's pure black so while renders show the transparent detail, it's actually less apparent in person. From a distance it just looks like an all black phone. @@AseesCr7.

    Hey drew! Great review bro, also in your opinion, which iphone best compares with the 2a?

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks a ton, much appreciate! Price wise would be the SE, but from a smooth performance comparison standpoint maybe the iPhone 11 or 12. It’s not the fastest phone but as MKBHD said as well, even coming from current top end flagships it doesn’t feel slow in comparison or like you have to completely reset to use this 350$ device. It performs pretty well overall especially in just regular everyday tasks.

      Zero issues charging for me but I do wish it had wireless charging. Otherwise charges fine and rather quickly provided you have a fast charging brick.

    Have you experience battery issue? Seeing lot of complains in community forums. Battery drains so fast even in idle mode

    • @drewlipps
      @drewlipps  5 месяцев назад +1

      It was hit or miss for me battery wise. I have days where it's easily 9 hrs SoT, but days where it's hunting for mobile connectivity while out it gets like 3 hrs SoT which is not ideal. If you have stable consistent connectivity (hard to get in the US since it's not really certified and is missing bands here in the US) then you should get good battery.
